Reconceptualizing platforms in information systems research through the lens of service-dominant logic
Platforms have gained significant attention in the field of information systems (IS) research. However, the concept of platforms remains fluid and complex due to the diverse phenomena associated with it. Research to date tends to cluster around two predominant perspectives: the economic network perspective and the architectural design perspective. To reconcile the divergent perspectives of platforms and establish a more cohesive foundation for IS theorizing, we undertake an interpretive literature review through the lens of service-dominant (S-D) logic. Drawing on an extensive analysis of the literature, we develop an S-D Platform Framework that provides a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of platforms as a vital IS capability for value co-creation. This framework sheds light on the fundamental facets of relationality, ambidexterity, and cooperativity, which explain the deep structure of platforms in the realm of IS research. Building on our proposed framework, we put forth an agenda that aims to guide future studies towards a more theoretically compelling trajectory
Survey of Models and Architectures to Ensure Linked Data Access
Mobile Access to the Web of Data is currently a real challenge in developing countries, mainly characterized by limited Internet connectivity and high penetration of mobile devices with the limited resources (such as cache and memory). In this paper, we survey and compare proposed solutions (such as models and architectures) that could contribute to solving this problem of mobile access to the Web of Data with intermittent Internet access. These solutions are discussed in relation to the underlying network architectures and data models considered. We present a conceptual study of peer-to-peer solutions based on gossip protocols dedicated to design the connected overlay networks. In addition, we provide a detailed analysis of client-server and data replication systems generally designed to ensure the local availability of data on the system. We conclude with some recommendations to achieve a connected architecture that provides mobile contributors with local access to the Web of data

A Survey on Transactional Stream Processing
Transactional stream processing (TSP) strives to create a cohesive model that
merges the advantages of both transactional and stream-oriented guarantees.
Over the past decade, numerous endeavors have contributed to the evolution of
TSP solutions, uncovering similarities and distinctions among them. Despite
these advances, a universally accepted standard approach for integrating
transactional functionality with stream processing remains to be established.
Existing TSP solutions predominantly concentrate on specific application
characteristics and involve complex design trade-offs. This survey intends to
introduce TSP and present our perspective on its future progression. Our
primary goals are twofold: to provide insights into the diverse TSP
requirements and methodologies, and to inspire the design and development of
groundbreaking TSP systems
Formal Foundations for Anonymous Communication
Accelerating the transition to heat pumps: measuring real-world performance and enabling peer-to-peer learning - An Energy Futures Lab Briefing Paper
Major challenges exist for decarbonising heat in buildings through mass adoption of heat pumps. These include consumer uncertainty and gaps in evidence, data and installer skills. This Energy Futures Lab briefing paper explores in detail the potential impacts and feasibility of one approach to supporting the transition: leveraging early adopters by measuring in-situ heat pump installation outcomes and sharing these as case studies to enable peer-to-peer learning among consumers and installers. Topics discussed include: the role of advice and support in the heat pump adoption customer journey; methods of assessing heat pump and building performance; stakeholder benefits from sharing data; and the context for implementing these recommendations

Building the Hyperconnected Society- Internet of Things Research and Innovation Value Chains, Ecosystems and Markets
This book aims to provide a broad overview of various topics of Internet of Things (IoT), ranging from research, innovation and development priorities to enabling technologies, nanoelectronics, cyber-physical systems, architecture, interoperability and industrial applications. All this is happening in a global context, building towards intelligent, interconnected decision making as an essential driver for new growth and co-competition across a wider set of markets. It is intended to be a standalone book in a series that covers the Internet of Things activities of the IERC – Internet of Things European Research Cluster from research to technological innovation, validation and deployment. The book builds on the ideas put forward by the European Research Cluster on the Internet of Things Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, and presents global views and state of the art results on the challenges facing the research, innovation, development and deployment of IoT in future years. The concept of IoT could disrupt consumer and industrial product markets generating new revenues and serving as a growth driver for semiconductor, networking equipment, and service provider end-markets globally. This will create new application and product end-markets, change the value chain of companies that creates the IoT technology and deploy it in various end sectors, while impacting the business models of semiconductor, software, device, communication and service provider stakeholders. The proliferation of intelligent devices at the edge of the network with the introduction of embedded software and app-driven hardware into manufactured devices, and the ability, through embedded software/hardware developments, to monetize those device functions and features by offering novel solutions, could generate completely new types of revenue streams. Intelligent and IoT devices leverage software, software licensing, entitlement management, and Internet connectivity in ways that address many of the societal challenges that we will face in the next decade
Traceability and tracing of pharmaceutical distribution through Blockchain and Smart Contracts
[Abstract]: Pharmaceutical supply chains require a large number of actions and resources to track products
circulating there. However, the appearance of Blockchain implies a substantial advance
in identifying products since it adapts perfectly to the conditions imposed by the sector.
Therefore, this Bachelor’s thesis investigates technologies such as Blockchain to reinforce
the mechanisms and guarantee security in the traffic of products throughout the pharmaceutical
supply chain. The developed system allows users to interact with it, facilitating a
graphical interface with all the functionalities offered to add, update and view information
on both medicines and workers. In addition, this system offers great reliability when it comes
to ensuring the integrity of the information assigned to medicines, where data is accessible
throughout the supply chain, ensuring total transparency between members of the chain and
end users. Therefore, in terms of security, this system makes great strides to offer a solution
against falsifications in the supply of medicines and their subsequent sale.[Resumo]: As cadeas de suministro farmacéuticas requiren un gran número de accións e recursos
