With great progress of China's economy and the improvement of life quality in recent years, a growing number of Chinese people begin to pay more attention to the oral health and dental aesthetic appearance. Under such circumstances, the demand for professional dental health institutions in China is also rising, so the dental hospitals and clinics in China are mushrooming. However, as the management system and supervision of dental medical institutions are yet to be improved, the whole dental medical market is facing fierce competition and is trapped in a difficult situation. Therefore, in order to survive in such a fierce market and maintain a sound development, a set of scientific and effective strategiesand methods are needed to help dental medical institutions attract sufficient number of customers and grab more market share, and constantly enhance their brand influence. This thesis takes Guangzhou Deron Dental as a case and uses the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory to summarize its successful experience of transformation to find out how it maintains its rapid development momentum in more than 20 years of growth, how its market share has been constantly enhanced in face of increasingly stronger competitors and how its profitability and business scope continue to expand, hoping to provide relevant suggestions and countermeasures for the growth of other private dental medical institutions. All the research results in this study aim not only to understand the successful experience of Deron Dental at different growth stages, but also to find out the growth law of the dental medical institutions at different stages in an effort to help the counterparts to solve similar problems and further provide consumers with better and safer dental care services.

The Impact of User Heterogeneity on Knowledge Collaboration Performance

    Get PDF
Existing research showed that the social Q & A community is centred on user participation and can improve knowledge collaboration performance by means of heterogeneous knowledge, but it did not reveal the process and mechanism. This paper takes the user behaviours of the Zhihu which is the largest social Q & A community in China as the research object. From an interactive perspective, it builds a research model of the relationship between user heterogeneity and knowledge collaboration performance by establishing measurement indicators for relationship analysis according to the user behaviours data of Zhihu. The results show that there is an inverted Ushaped relationship between user heterogeneity and knowledge collaboration performance, and the interpersonal interaction of users plays a mediating role in the relationship between user heterogeneity and knowledge collaboration performance, while the mediating effect of machine interaction is not significant. This paper, based on this, puts forward some suggestions for better development of social Q & A community

This thesis studies the factors that affect the innovation and satisfaction of employees in fast-growing medical and Internet service companies. More and more enterprises, especially the managers of medical and Internet enterprises, are constantly aware that employees are really the core competitiveness of modern enterprises and can attract and retain excellent employees, even to encourage employees' continuous innovation is the key for medical and Internet enterprises to grow and win the market competition. This thesis mainly studies three problems: (1) The influences of incentive mechanisms and dynamic capability on innovation and employee satisfaction? (2) Team factors that affect incentive mechanisms and dynamic capabilities? (3) The mediating roles of incentive mechanisms and dynamic capabilities between team factors and innovation/employee satisfaction? The two research methods of this thesis are qualitative case study based on action and quantitative study based on questionnaire survey data. The research model in this thesis mainly comes from literature and case studies, and the measurement model also verifies whether the indicators in the literature adapt to the current enterprise environment through case studies. In the case study, by company started to build in June 2015, located in Beijing. It is an Internet finance company established with regulatory approval. By interviewing company leaders and related employees, the thesis studies the changes and evolution of the variables in the three different growth stages of the enterprise. In the questionnaire survey, 774 questionnaires were sent out to 12 Internet companies and medical service companies, and 523 valid survey samples were collected to quantitatively test the research models and hypotheses in the thesis. The results show that team diversity, team leadership, team culture, career development and dynamic ability have a significant positive impact on employee innovation, while team leadership, team culture, financial incentive, career development and dynamic ability have a significant positive impact on employee satisfaction. My research results show that in order to improve employee satisfaction and innovation ability, we need to effectively manage team factors and incentive mechanism to improve the management mechanism.

Professionals who experience burnout are less productive and lead to decreases in both profitability and human resource (HR) capital. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine the relationship between construction project duration; project budget; an individual\u27s role on a project; and Maslach\u27s three dimensions of burnout, (a) professional efficacy, (b) emotional exhaustion, and (c) cynicism, for the target population of construction management team members working within the Midwestern United States. Using data from an online survey, a multiple linear regression analysis was used, along with a separate multiple linear regression model, to quantify the relationship of each dimension of the burnout syndrome with the independent variables. Results suggested that there was no statistically significant relationship between the independent variables and burnout, but statistical significance existed with project budget predicting the burnout dimension of cynicism F(2,136) = 6.395, p = 0.013, R2 = 0.05, suggesting that the larger the project budget, the more susceptible the individual to cynicism. Past research has found that increased levels of cynicism in project team members can lead to feelings of alienation and disengagement from the job role. The implications for positive social change include increased awareness of burnout within the construction context and potential modification of existing business practices and operating procedures to avoid employee burnout of project management team members. Business leaders expanding their understanding about predictors of burnout may lead to lower turnover and turnover intentions while increasing productivity and profitability of their organizations

Working Together: Exploring the Factors that Influence Interorganizational Cooperation

Administrative and policy failures increasingly occur because of the inability of organizations to facilitate collective action in the absence of a central, hierarchical authority. I explore how organizations achieve (or fail to achieve) voluntary, self-organizing collective action that is not a direct result of external control, presenting a polycentric system of governance within a set of public, nonprofit, and for-profit agencies operating in the policy domain of emergency management. Using a complex adaptive systems framework (Axelrod and Cohen 1999), I identify the patterns of variation, interaction, and the choices made among agencies that determine whether organizations work together. I develop a model of an integrated, interdependent system of emergency management facilitated by a knowledge commons, as opposed to the established sequential cycle of disaster response. The research problem addressed, collective action without hierarchy, is fundamentally an issue of decision making. The ability of decision makers to recognize key situations in their environments and develop strategies for action, i.e. cognition, is critical. Analysis of network data and semi-structured interviews finds that urgent need, proximity, and professional capital, a concept developed in this dissertation, promote and sustain cooperation. I show how these factors increase the capacity of heterogeneous networks to accomplish shared goals. Even if the conditions of urgent need and proximity are satisfied, situations exist where agencies fail to cooperate. Key standards of professional performance—appearance, levels of staffing, past performance, response time, and the quality of equipment—influence the decisions of emergency managers to work together. I present the concept of professional capital to describe how these recognized standards of professional performance demonstrate competence and justify the decisions of managers to interact. Professional capital transcends jurisdictional and disciplinary boundaries, influencing the confidence of decision makers and shaping judgments based on expectations of performance. This concept adds a missing component to social capital theory, which currently focuses on the roles of pre-established trust and norms of reciprocity in promoting collective action

The Enhancing Impact of Friendship Networks on Sales Managers’ Performance

    Get PDF
This paper examines how relationships with friends moderate the impact of professional networks on sales performance. Based on a sample of 204 sales managers in a professional service company, this study presents evidence that friendship networks amplify the effect of sales forces’ professional networks on new product sales as well as on prospecting and converting new deals. Our results offer important insights into the socio-cognitive perspective of sales management literature and suggest that firms should encourage managers to improve their friendships in order to access valuable information that will enhance customer knowledge and support their sales efforts
