A Framework for Multimedia Data Hiding (Security)

    Get PDF
With the proliferation of multimedia data such as images, audio, and video, robust digital watermarking and data hiding techniques are needed for copyright protection, copy control, annotation, and authentication. While many techniques have been proposed for digital color and grayscale images, not all of them can be directly applied to binary document images. The difficulty lies in the fact that changing pixel values in a binary document could introduce Irregularities that is very visually noticeable. We have seen but limited number of papers proposing new techniques and ideas for document image watermarking and data hiding. In this paper, we present an overview and summary of recent developments on this important topic, and discuss important issues such as robustness and data hiding capacity of the different techniques

Lossless data hiding using bit-depth embedding for JPEG2000 compressed bit-stream

We have proposed a reversible information hiding for binary images. In this paper, we presents a lossless data hiding method for JPEG2000 compressed data based on the reversible information hiding. In JPEG2000 compression, wavelet coefficients of an image are quantized, therefore, the least significant bit plane (LSB) can be extracted. The proposed method recovers the quantized wavelet coefficients of cover images from stego images. To realize this, we embed not only secret data and the JBIG2 bit-stream of a part of the LSB plane but also the bit-depth of the quantized coefficients on some code-blocks.Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of application of the proposed method to image alteration detection for JPEG2000 compressed data.2008 International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 15-17 Aug. 2008, Harbin, Chin

American standard code for information interchange mapping technique for text hiding in the RGB and gray images

One of the significant techniques for hiding important information (such as text, image, and audio) is steganography. Steganography is used to keep this information as secret as possible, especially the sensitive ones after the massive expansion of data transmission through the Internet inside a conventional, non-secret, file, or message. This paper uses the American standard code for information interchange (ASCII) mapping technique (AMT) to hide the data in the color and grey image by converting it in a binary form, also convert the three levels of the red, green, and blue (RGB) image and grey image in the binary form, and then hide the data through hiding every two bits of the text in the two bits of one of the levels from the RGB image and grey image that means the text will be distributed throughout the images and allows hiding large amounts of data. That will send the information in a good securing way

Data Hiding in Binary Images Using Orthogonal Embedding - A High Capacity Approach

The growth of high speed computer networks and the Internet, in particular, has increased the ease of Information Communication. In comparison with Analog media, Digital media offers several distinct advantages such as high quality, easy editing, high fidelity copying, compression etc. But this type advancement in the field of data communication in other sense has hiked the fear of getting the data snooped at the time of sending it from the sender to the receiver. Information Security is becoming an inseparable part of Data Communication. In order to address this Information Security, Digital Watermarking plays an important role. Watermarking Techniques are used to hide a small amount of data in such a way that no one apart from the sender and intended recipient even realizes there is a hidden message. This paper proposed a high capacity data hiding approach for binary images in morphological transform domain for authentication purpose so that the image will look unchanged to human visual system

Efficient Reversible Watermarking Technique with Contrast Enhancement for Color Images

In this paper histogram bin shifting based reversible data hiding algorithm for color images has been proposed. In this technique binary bits are embedded directly by addition and subtraction in two highest bin chosen and this process is repeated in modified histogram. A location map is generated by pre -processing to prevent the unnecessary overflow and underflow. All other pixels except two highest bins are also manipulated for contrast enhancement. Embedding of binary secret data is done on the each color component (Red, Green, and Blue) of color images. Secret Binary data bits are embedded in random permutation manner to secure the data from unauthorized receiver. Extraction of embedded binary bits is done by inverse algorithm of embedding process and original image is recovered by reverse manipulation embedding process. This proposed algorithm provide high embedding capacity with low distortion of original quality of image which may be used in different medical, military and satellite application. Reversible data hiding in JPEG images based on adjustable padding

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a reversible data hiding scheme that enables an adjustable amount of information to be embedded in JPEG images based on padding strategy. The proposed embedding algorithm only modifies, in a subtle manner, an adjustable number of zero-valued quantised DCT coefficients to embed the message. Hence, compared with a state-of-the-art based on histogram shifting, the proposed scheme has a relatively low distortion to the host images. In addition to this, we found that by representing the message in ternary instead of in binary, we can embed a greater amount of information while the level of distortion remains unchanged. Experimental results support that the proposed scheme can achieve better visual quality of the marked JPEG image than the histogram shifting based scheme. The proposed scheme also outperforms this state-of-the-art in terms of the ease of implementation

Secure Image Transmission Using Stochastic Diffusion

Proposed paper is methodical study of a method called Stochastic Diffusion for efficient encrypting digital images and hiding the information in another image or image set. The paper recommends efficient algorithm and mathematical model. This algorithm satisfies imperceptibility and robustness requirements. A secret key is used to securely embed the message text in the image and securely transfer the image over the network and the safely retrieve the original message text. There are two methods to implement the approach are considered. The first method uses binary image watermarking algorithm .This method is used for hiding an image in a single host image in which binarization is used for encrypted data. The second used to solving the problem of 24-bit image hiding in three host image which recovers original data after decryption. Both method are implemented using ‘hidden code’ technique.
