Non-fragile estimation for discrete-time T-S fuzzy systems with event-triggered protocol
summary:This paper investigates the non-fragile state estimation problem for a class of discrete-time T-S fuzzy systems with time-delays and multiple missing measurements under event-triggered mechanism. First of all, the plant is subject to the time-varying delays and the stochastic disturbances. Next, a random white sequence, the element of which obeys a general probabilistic distribution defined on , is utilized to formulate the occurrence of the missing measurements. Also, an event generator function is employed to regulate the transmission of data to save the precious energy. Then, a non-fragile state estimator is constructed to reflect the randomly occurring gain variations in the implementing process. By means of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the desired sufficient conditions are obtained such that the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy estimation error system is exponentially ultimately bounded in the mean square. And then the upper bound is minimized via the robust optimization technique and the estimator gain matrices can be calculated. Finally, a simulation example is utilized to demonstrate the effectiveness of the state estimation scheme proposed in this paper

Communication-protocol-based analysis and synthesis of networked systems: progress, prospects and challenges
In recent years, the communication-protocol-based synthesis and analysis issues have gained substantial research interest owing mainly to their significance in networked systems. In this work, we survey the control and filtering problems of networked systems under the effects induced by communication protocols. First, we introduce the engineering background of networked systems as well as the theoretical frameworks established to deal with the communication-protocol-based analysis and synthesis problems. Then, recent advances (especially the latest results) are reviewed on the stability analysis issue subject to protocol scheduling. Subsequently, the particular effort is devoted to presenting the latest progress on various communication-protocol-based control and filtering problems according to the characteristics of networked systems (e.g. time-varying nature, random behaviours, types of parameter uncertainties, and kinds of distributed structure). After that, we provide a systematic review of the communication-protocol-based fault diagnosis problems. Finally, some research challenges of communication-protocol-based control and filtering problems are outlined for future research

Recursive State Estimation for Stochastic Complex Networks under Round-Robin Communication Protocol: Handling Packet Disorders
This paper investigates the recursive state estimation problem for a class of discrete-time stochastic complex networks with packet disorders under Round-Robin (RR) communication protocols. The phenomenon of packet disorders results from the random transmission delays during the signal propagation process due to the unpredictable fluctuations of the network load, and such random delays are modeled by a set of random variables satisfying certain known probability distributions. For the sake of lessening the communication burden and abating the data collisions, the RR protocol is introduced to govern the order of the nodes for data transmission. Under the scheduling of the RR protocol, only one node is allowed to gain the access to the network at each time instant. Then, a recursive estimator is devised to guarantee an upper bound for the estimation error covariance, and then the obtained upper bound is locally minimized by adequately choosing the estimator parameters. Furthermore, the boundedness of estimation error is analyzed in the sense of mean square with the help of stochastic analysis techniques. At last, a simulation example is presented to show the applicability of the proposed estimator design scheme.10.13039/501100004054-King Abdulaziz University (Grant Number: RG-19-611-42); 10.13039/501100001809-National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant Number: 61773017, 61873148, 61873230 and 61933007);

Set-membership filtering for time-varying systems with mixed time-delays under Round-Robin and Weighted Try-Once-Discard protocols
This paper is concerned with the set-membership filtering problem for a class of time-varying systems with mixed time-delays and communication protocols. Two kinds of well-known protocols (Round-Robin protocol and Weighted Try-Once-Discard protocol) are considered, with which the data transmission between the sensor nodes and the filter is implemented via a shared communication network that allows only one sensor node to send its measurement data at each transmission instant in order to prevent the data from collisions. The transmission order of sensor nodes is orchestrated by the underlying protocol of the network. The aim of the problem addressed is to design a set-membership filter capable of confining the state estimate of the system to certain ellipsoidal region subject to the bounded non-Gaussian noises. Sufficient condition is first derived for the existence of the desired filter at each time step in terms of a recursive algorithm. Then, two optimization problems are solved by optimizing the constraint ellipsoid of the estimation error subject to the underlying protocol. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed filter design scheme
Optimized state estimation for nonlinear dynamical networks subject to fading measurements and stochastic coupling strength: An event-triggered communication mechanism
summary:This paper is concerned with the design of event-based state estimation algorithm for nonlinear complex networks with fading measurements and stochastic coupling strength. The event-based communication protocol is employed to save energy and enhance the network transmission efficiency, where the changeable event-triggered threshold is adopted to adjust the data transmission frequency. The phenomenon of fading measurements is described by a series of random variables obeying certain probability distribution. The aim of the paper is to propose a new recursive event-based state estimation strategy such that, for the admissible linearization error, fading measurements and stochastic coupling strength, a minimum upper bound of estimation error covariance is given by designing the estimator gain. Furthermore, the monotonicity relationship between the trace of the upper bound of estimation error covariance and the fading probability is pointed out from the theoretical aspect. Finally, a simulation example is used to show the effectiveness of developed state estimation algorithm
