    A New Control Strategy for Photovoltaic System Connected to the Grid via Three-Time-Scale Singular Perturbation Technique with Performance Analysis

    This chapter addresses the problem of controlling single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic system through a full bridge inverter with L-filter. The control objectives are threefold: (i) forcing the voltage in the output of photovoltaic panel to track a reference. This reference has been obtained from the maximum power point tracking strategy; (ii) guaranteeing a tight regulation of the DC-link voltage; and (iii) ensuring a satisfactory power factor correction (PFC) at the grid such as the currents injected must be sinusoidal with the same frequency and the same phase as the grid voltage. The considered control problem entails several difficulties including: (i) the high dimension and strong nonlinearity of the system; (ii) the changes in atmospheric conditions. The problem is dealt with by designing a synthesized nonlinear multi-loop controller using singular perturbation technique, in which a three-time-scale dynamics is artificially induced in the closed-loop system. A formal analysis based on the three-time-scale singular perturbation technique and the averaging theory is developed to proved that all control objectives are asymptotically achieved up to small harmonic errors (ripples). The performance of the proposed approach and its strong robustness with respect to climate changes are evaluated based on the various simulations results carried out under Matlab/Simulink software

    Simple Tracking Output Feedback H ∞ Control for Switched Linear Systems: Lateral Vehicle Control Application

    International audienceIn this paper, the problem of the switched H ∞ tracking output feedback control problem is studied. The control design problem is addressed in the context of discrete-time switched linear systems. Then, the design of continuous-time case becomes trivial. Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) and Linear Matrix Equality (LME) representations are used to express all sufficient conditions to solve the control problem. Some transformations leading to sufficient conditions for the control problem are also used. All conditions are established for any switching using a switched Lyapunov function and a common Lyapunov function. The effectiveness of the proposed control approach is shown through a steering vehicle control implementation. Interesting simulation results are obtained using real data acquired by an instrumented car

    Control design for discrete-time fuzzy systems with disturbance inputs via delta operator approach

    This paper is concerned with the problem of passive control design for discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with time delay and disturbance input via delta operator approach. The discrete-time passive performance index is established in this paper for the control design problem. By constructing a new type ofLyapunov-Krasovskii function (LKF) in delta domain, and utilizing some fuzzy weighing matrices, a new passive performance condition is proposed for the system under consideration. Based on the condition, a state-feedback passive controller is designed to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system is very-strictly passive. The existence conditions of the controller can be expressed by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method
