Nonlinear discrete-time systems with delayed control: a reduction

    Get PDF
In this work, the notion of reduction is introduced for discrete-time nonlinear input-delayed systems. The retarded dynamics is reduced to a new system which is free of delays and equivalent (in terms of stabilizability) to the original one. Different stabilizing strategies are proposed over the reduced model. Connections with existing predictor-based methods are discussed. The methodology is also worked out over particular classes of time-delay systems as sampled-data dynamics affected by an entire input delay

Robust observer design under measurement noise

    Get PDF
We prove new results on robust observer design for systems with noisy measurement and bounded trajectories. A state observer is designed by dominating the incrementally homogeneous nonlinearities of the observation error system with its linear approximation, while gain adaptation and incremental observability guarantee an asymptotic upper bound for the estimation error depending on the limsup of the norm of the measuremen noise. The gain adaptation is implemented as the output of a stable filter using the squared norm of the measured output estimation error and the mismatch between each estimate and its saturated value

Preview Tracking Control of Linear Periodic Switched Systems with Dwell Time

    Get PDF
This paper studies the preview tracking control problem for linear discrete-time periodic switched systems. Firstly, an augmented error system is constructed for each subsystem by stabilizing the augmented error systems through the method of optimal preview control, and the tracking problem of the switched system is transformed into the switched stability problem of closed-loop augmented error systems. Secondly, a switched Lyapunov function method is applied to search the minimal dwell time satisfying the switched stability of the closed-loop augmented error systems. Thirdly, the switched preview control input is solved from the controller of the individual augmented error system, and then the sufficient conditions and the preview controller can be obtained to guarantee the solvability of the original periodic switched preview tracking problem. Finally, numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the stabilization design method
