Today volume of the Internet traffic growths very fast. This trend affects Web-application, with the number of users and amount of traffic also increasing their workload. That's why developers need to achieve maximum performance on existing hardware. Software optimization allows solving this problem. Geo2Tag is an open source platform for location-based services (LBS), which provide web interfaces for them. Initially, it was developed as an educational project which goal was to give students experience in open source projects development. But now number of supported functions and number of users (users of LBS and developers) for platform is increasing, and in this situation platform performance is not enough. This paper describes Geo2Tag platform performance evaluation and optimization

"Accessibility Map" and "Social navigator" services for persons with disabilities

The paper describes development process of information environment for persons with disabilities. Introduction describes the aim and objectives of development, the results of evaluation of typical demands and user scenarios for persons with disabilities. The first section of the main part describes common applications architecture and utilized technologies. Both services use the same data model, which includes description of route parts and roads, as well as information about accessibility of objects stored in the database of “Accessibility Passports” service developed previously. The next section contains description of the development process. The user scenarios, service functions, the use of Geo2Tag platform and Open Street Map with its libraries are presented. In “Social navigator” service the routes are described as a graph with weighted edges, where the weight is the rate of accessibility of the path parts. The mathematical method for estimation of accessibility according to various types of ability restrictions was developed and implemented in the service. The method is based on graph theory and provides an approach to formal ranging of the routes according to the accessibility level of persons with limited mobility

"Accessibility passports" service in information environment for persons with disabilities

The paper describes development process of information environment for persons with disabilities. Introduction gives a base understanding of the project idea. The first section of the main part describes common infrastructure architecture. Services are divided on government and public. The public part is presented by various services, based on the information collected by government service. Government service is presented by information system “Accessibility passports”, which in details is described in second section of main part. The “Accessibility passports” is a service for initial collection of data about accessibility of the social infrastructure facilities for people with disabilities. In the last section of the main part presented a mathematical method for measuring level of accessibility of the social infrastructure facilities for people with disabilities. Method is based on probability theory and provide possibility for formal ranging of the social infrastructure facilities according to the level of accessibility for persons with limited mobility

An approach to creation of smart space-based trip planning service

    Get PDF
Trip planning is among important and complex problems in tourism industry. Trip plan preparation requires data analyzing from a substantial number of services. Usually, service or standalone application provides limited functionality, which can be used only in trip preparation and for basic scenarios. This paper provides an approach to creating Smart Space-based Trip planning service. The Smart Space technology allows to create proactive services with context-based scenarios and multi-service usage. The paper describes trip planning problem as a list of possible tasks and presents mathematical model for common task. The presented approach includes high-level architecture of Smart Spacebased service, scenarios usage and possible data sources from existing third party services and used algorithms for data transformation

Navigation infrastructure for people with disabilities

    Get PDF
The importance of navigation support for people with disability has been demonstrated by convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This paper presents the navigation infrastructure for people with disabilities. The infrastructure includes map generation service, web interface, mobile services. Also we purpose method of target area examination by volunteers. Using a modified Openstreetmap road graph allows you to build more precise routes. Introduced classification of obstacles types allows you to identify problems in the path of a person with disabilities. Application of Dijkstra's-based algorithm with modified edge weights allows you to find safe traffic routes. The results of testing on the pilot region allow us to estimate the amount of work required to improve the quality of people's live with disabilities

    Acceptance determinants of 5G services

5G is a revolutionary development in network technologies which is gradually becoming very common among people contributing significantly in different fields such as education, industry, agriculture, health, tourism and military. Currently, 5G is an outbreak change as opposed to the traditional service of the Internet since it offers better quality, ultra-fast connection, low-cost, reduced latency, energy saving, which makes its great impact even greater in people’s life. The present study examines various factors that have a significant impact on the Use of 5G in the Gulf area. The study extended the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) to include factors such as Perceived Enjoyment, Perceived Resources and Perceived Skills Readiness. The present research has adopted a hybrid model that incorporates TAM determinants with other external factors which have a direct relation with 5G as internet service. Previous studies have focused on the importance of 5G in different environments and countries. However, this study focuses on the newly spread Use of 5G in the gulf area by adopting a hybrid conceptual model. The findings suggest that 5G may help in promoting the usage of internet service more effectively with its low-cost, faster data transfer and better quality. Moreover, the findings indicate a positive effect of the gender as a mediator between the variables: Perceived Skills Readiness, Perceived Ease of use, and Perceived Resources

Integrated human exposure to air pollution

    Get PDF
The book “Integrated human exposure to air pollution” aimed to increase knowledge about human exposure in different micro-environments, or when citizens are performing specific tasks, to demonstrate methodologies for the understanding of pollution sources and their impact on indoor and ambient air quality, and, ultimately, to identify the most effective mitigation measures to decrease human exposure and protect public health. Taking advantage of the latest available tools, such as internet of things (IoT), low-cost sensors and a wide access to online platforms and apps by the citizens, new methodologies and approaches can be implemented to understand which factors can influence human exposure to air pollution. This knowledge, when made available to the citizens, along with the awareness of the impact of air pollution on human life and earth systems, can empower them to act, individually or collectively, to promote behavioral changes aiming to reduce pollutants’ emissions. Overall, this book gathers fourteen innovative studies that provide new insights regarding these important topics within the scope of human exposure to air pollution. A total of five main areas were discussed and explored within this book and, hopefully, can contribute to the advance of knowledge in this field
