Quality Function Deployment and Fuzzy TOPSIS Methods in Decision Support System for Internet Service Provider Selection
Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a company or business organization that provides access to intenet and services related for individual consumer or companies. There are many ISP in Indonesia recently, and they have almost the same product to offered. This problem makes internet service provider selection become a major issue. Decision support system can be used to recommend the best ISP company based on need. The aim of this research is to used Quality Function Deployment with Fuzzy TOPSIS sequentially to select the best ISP company as needed, and implemented in decision support system for internet service provider selection. Quality Function Deployment and Fuzzy TOPSIS methods used to evaluate, and then recommend the ISP company by ranked. Quality Function Deployment method used to find out customers requirements about internet network, the weighting of the criteria and the assessment of each ISP company. Fuzzy TOPSIS used to rank ISP company. These two methods produce consistent ratings when sensitivity analysis is performed for fuzzy and crisp value. These two methods make decision support system result can be trusted
On the usage of the probability integral transform to reduce the complexity of multi-way fuzzy decision trees in Big Data classification problems
We present a new distributed fuzzy partitioning method to reduce the
complexity of multi-way fuzzy decision trees in Big Data classification
problems. The proposed algorithm builds a fixed number of fuzzy sets for all
variables and adjusts their shape and position to the real distribution of
training data. A two-step process is applied : 1) transformation of the
original distribution into a standard uniform distribution by means of the
probability integral transform. Since the original distribution is generally
unknown, the cumulative distribution function is approximated by computing the
q-quantiles of the training set; 2) construction of a Ruspini strong fuzzy
partition in the transformed attribute space using a fixed number of equally
distributed triangular membership functions. Despite the aforementioned
transformation, the definition of every fuzzy set in the original space can be
recovered by applying the inverse cumulative distribution function (also known
as quantile function). The experimental results reveal that the proposed
methodology allows the state-of-the-art multi-way fuzzy decision tree (FMDT)
induction algorithm to maintain classification accuracy with up to 6 million

A Fuzzy Petri Nets Model for Computing With Words
Motivated by Zadeh's paradigm of computing with words rather than numbers,
several formal models of computing with words have recently been proposed.
These models are based on automata and thus are not well-suited for concurrent
computing. In this paper, we incorporate the well-known model of concurrent
computing, Petri nets, together with fuzzy set theory and thereby establish a
concurrency model of computing with words--fuzzy Petri nets for computing with
words (FPNCWs). The new feature of such fuzzy Petri nets is that the labels of
transitions are some special words modeled by fuzzy sets. By employing the
methodology of fuzzy reasoning, we give a faithful extension of an FPNCW which
makes it possible for computing with more words. The language expressiveness of
the two formal models of computing with words, fuzzy automata for computing
with words and FPNCWs, is compared as well. A few small examples are provided

The paper brings two motivations to the theoretical explorations of social analysis. The first is to enrich the agent based computational sociology by incorporating the fuzzy set theory in to the computational modeling. This is conducted by showing the importance to include the fuzziness into artificial agentâs considerations and her way acquiring and articulate information. This is continued with the second motives to bring the Darwinian sexual selection theory â as it has been developed broadly in evolutionary psychology â into the analysis of social system including cultural analysis and other broad aspects of sociological fields. The two was combined in one computational model construction showing the fuzziness of mating choice, and how to have computational tools to explain broad fields of social realms. On the role of pre and post-processing in environmental data mining
The quality of discovered knowledge is highly depending on data quality. Unfortunately real data use to contain noise, uncertainty, errors, redundancies or even irrelevant information. The more complex is the reality to be analyzed, the higher the risk of getting low quality data. Knowledge Discovery from Databases (KDD) offers a global framework to prepare data in the right form to perform correct analyses. On the other hand, the quality of decisions taken upon KDD results, depend not only on the quality of the results themselves, but on the capacity of the system to communicate those results in an understandable form. Environmental systems are particularly complex and environmental users particularly require clarity in their results. In this paper some details about how this can be achieved are provided. Gray Image extraction using Fuzzy Logic
Fuzzy systems concern fundamental methodology to represent and process
uncertainty and imprecision in the linguistic information. The fuzzy systems
that use fuzzy rules to represent the domain knowledge of the problem are known
as Fuzzy Rule Base Systems (FRBS). On the other hand image segmentation and
subsequent extraction from a noise-affected background, with the help of
various soft computing methods, are relatively new and quite popular due to
various reasons. These methods include various Artificial Neural Network (ANN)
models (primarily supervised in nature), Genetic Algorithm (GA) based
techniques, intensity histogram based methods etc. providing an extraction
solution working in unsupervised mode happens to be even more interesting
problem. Literature suggests that effort in this respect appears to be quite
rudimentary. In the present article, we propose a fuzzy rule guided novel
technique that is functional devoid of any external intervention during
execution. Experimental results suggest that this approach is an efficient one
in comparison to different other techniques extensively addressed in
literature. In order to justify the supremacy of performance of our proposed
technique in respect of its competitors, we take recourse to effective metrics
like Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Peak Signal to Noise
