    This work presents a supervisory control strategy for Networked Control Systems (NCSs). This shows the identification and control of the plant using fuzzy theory. The fuzzy model incorporates the delay dynamics within the fuzzy rules based upon a real-time hierarchical scheduling strategy. A hierarchical scheduling Priority Exchange algorithm is used based upon codesign strategy following mutual correlation among control and network algorithms in order to bounded time delays.     Integrated feedback scheduling and control co-design for motion coordination of networked induction motor systems

    This paper investigates the codesign of remote speed control and network scheduling for motion coordination of multiple induction motors through a shared communication network. An integrated feedback scheduling algorithm is designed to allocate the optimal sampling period and priority to each control loop to optimize the global performance of a networked control system (NCS), while satisfying the constraints of stability and schedulability. A speed synchronization method is incorporated into the scheduling algorithm to improve the speed synchronization performance of multiple induction motors. The rational gain of the network speed controllers is calculated using the Lyapunov theorem and tuned online by fuzzy logic to guarantee the robustness against complicated variations on the communication network. Furthermore, a state predictor is designed to compensate the time delay which occurred in data transmission from the sensor to the controller, as a part of the networked controller. Simulation results support the effectiveness of the proposed control-and-scheduling codesign approach

    Robust Event-Triggered Energy-to-Peak Filtering for Polytopic Uncertain Systems over Lossy Network with Quantized Measurements

    The event-triggered energy-to-peak filtering for polytopic discrete-time linear systems is studied with the consideration of lossy network and quantization error. Because of the communication imperfections from the packet dropout of lossy link, the event-triggered condition used to determine the data release instant at the event generator (EG) can not be directly applied to update the filter input at the zero order holder (ZOH) when performing filter performance analysis and synthesis. In order to balance such nonuniform time series between the triggered instant of EG and the updated instant of ZOH, two event-triggered conditions are defined, respectively, whereafter a worst-case bound on the number of consecutive packet losses of the transmitted data from EG is given, which marginally guarantees the effectiveness of the filter that will be designed based on the event-triggered updating condition of ZOH. Then, the filter performance analysis conditions are obtained under the assumption that the maximum number of packet losses is allowable for the worst-case bound. In what follows, a two-stage LMI-based alternative optimization approach is proposed to separately design the filter, which reduces the conservatism of the traditional linearization method of filter analysis conditions. Subsequently a codesign algorithm is developed to determine the communication and filter parameters simultaneously. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to verify the validity of the obtained results

    Control-Scheduling Codesign for NCS based Fuzzy Systems

    In the present paper, a fuzzy codesign approach is proposed to deal with the controller and scheduler design for a networked control system which is physically distributed with a shared communication network. The proposed fuzzy controller is applied to generate the control with different sampling-actuation periods, the configuration supposes a strict actuation period disappears the jitter. The proposed fuzzy scheduling is designed to select the sampling-actuation period. So, the fuzzy codesign reduces the rate of transmission when the system is stable through the scheduler while the controller adjusts the control signal. The fuzzy codesign guarantees the stability of all the system if the network uncertainties do not exceed an upper bound and is a low computational cost method implemented with an embedded system. An unstable, nonlinear system is used to evaluate the proposed approach and compared to a hybrid control, the results show greater robustness to multiple lost packets and time delays much larger than the sampling period.     Feedback scheduling of real-time control systems with resource constraints

    This thesis observes the emerging trend of convergence of control with computing and communication. By exploiting control and scheduling codesign, we study some practical and open problems in RTCSs from a unique viewpoint of dynamic resource management. Considering constraints on three representative kinds of resources, i.e. CPU time, energy, and network bandwidth, we present a set of feedback scheduling methods that exploit a unified technological framework. They provide enabling technologies for closed-loop dynamic resource scheduling, and tackle some essential problems in the emerging field of feedback scheduling.
