Neutrosophic Triplet Non-Associative Semihypergroups with Application

    Get PDF
In this paper, we extended the idea of a neutrosophic triplet set to non-associative semihypergroups and define neutrosophic triplet LA-semihypergroup.We discuss some basic results and properties. At the end, we provide an application of the proposed structure in Football

Localization and the interface between quantum mechanics, quantum field theory and quantum gravity I (The two antagonistic localizations and their asymptotic compatibility)

It is shown that there are significant conceptual differences between QM and QFT which make it difficult to view the latter as just a relativistic extension of the principles of QM. At the root of this is a fundamental distiction between Born-localization in QM (which in the relativistic context changes its name to Newton-Wigner localization) and modular localization which is the localization underlying QFT, after one separates it from its standard presentation in terms of field coordinates. The first comes with a probability notion and projection operators, whereas the latter describes causal propagation in QFT and leads to thermal aspects of locally reduced finite energy states. The Born-Newton-Wigner localization in QFT is only applicable asymptotically and the covariant correlation between asymptotic in and out localization projectors is the basis of the existence of an invariant scattering matrix. In this first part of a two part essay the modular localization (the intrinsic content of field localization) and its philosophical consequences take the center stage. Important physical consequences of vacuum polarization will be the main topic of part II. Both parts together form a rather comprehensive presentation of known consequences of the two antagonistic localization concepts, including the those of its misunderstandings in string theory.Comment: 63 pages corrections, reformulations, references adde

Deformation Methods in Mathematics and Physics

    Get PDF
Deformations of mathematical structures play an important role in most parts of mathematics but also in theoretical physics. In this interdisciplinary workshop, different aspects of deformations and their applications were discussed. The workshop was attended by experts in the fields, but also by quite a number of young post-docs and PhD students. One of the goals was to foster interactions between different communities

From fundamental physics to tests with compact objects in metric-affine theories of gravity

    Get PDF
This work provides a short but comprehensible overview of some relevant aspects of metric-affine theories of gravity in relation to the physics and astrophysics of compact objects. We shall highlight the pertinence of this approach to supersede General Relativity on its strong-field regime, as well as its advantages and some of its difficulties. Moreover, we shall reflect on the present and future opportunities to testing its predictions with relativistic and non-relativistic stars, black holes, and other exotic horizonless compact objects.Comment: 12 double column pages, 2 figures, Contribution to Selected Papers of the Fifth Amazonian Symposium on Physics, accepted in IJMP

Non-linear time-cost trade-off models of activity crashing: Application to construction scheduling and project compression with fast-tracking

    Get PDF
When shortening a project’s duration, activity crashing, fast-tracking and substitution are the three most commonly employed compression techniques. Crashing generally involves allocating extra resources to an activity with the intention of reducing its duration. To date, the activity time-cost relationship has for the most part been assumed to be linear, however, a few studies have suggested that this is not necessarily the case in practice. This paper proposes two non-linear theoretical models which assume either collaborative or non-collaborative resources. These models closely depict the two most common situations occurring during construction projects. The advantages of these models are that they allow for both discrete and continuous, as well as deterministic and stochastic configurations. Additionally, the quantity of resources required for crashing the activity can be quantified. Comparisons between the models and another recent fast-tracking model from the literature are discussed, and a Genetic Algorithm is implemented for a fictitious application example involving both compression techniques
