Motorized cart is known as an effective tool and timeless that help people carry heavy loads. For farmers, it has an especially vital tool for moving goods. Oil palm farmers typically uses the wheelbarrow to move the oil palm fruit (Figure 10.1). However, there is a lack of equipment that should be further enhanced in capabilities. Motorized carts that seek to add automation to wheelbarrow as it is to help people save manpower while using it. At present, oil palm plantation industry is among the largest in Malaysia. However, in an effort to increase the prestige of the industry to a higher level there are challenges to be faced. Shortage of workers willing to work the farm for harvesting oil palm has given pain to manage oil palm plantations. Many have complained about the difficulty of hiring foreign workers and a high cost. Although there are tools that can be used to collect or transfer the proceeds of oil palm fruits such as carts available. However, these tools still have the disadvantage that requires high manpower to operate. Moreover, it is not suitable for all land surfaces and limited cargo space. Workload and manpower dependence has an impact on farmers' income

The impact of front-of-pack marketing attributes versus nutrition and health information on parents’ food choices

© 2017 Front-of-pack attributes have the potential to affect parents’ food choices on behalf of their children and form one avenue through which strategies to address the obesogenic environment can be developed. Previous work has focused on the isolated effects of nutrition and health information (e.g. labeling systems, health claims), and how parents trade off this information against co-occurring marketing features (e.g. product imagery, cartoons) is unclear. A Discrete Choice Experiment was utilized to understand how front-of-pack nutrition, health and marketing attributes, as well as pricing, influenced parents’ choices of cereal for their child. Packages varied with respect to the two elements of the Australian Health Star Rating system (stars and nutrient facts panel), along with written claims, product visuals, additional visuals, and price. A total of 520 parents (53% male) with a child aged between five and eleven years were recruited via an online panel company and completed the survey. Product visuals, followed by star ratings, were found to be the most significant attributes in driving choice, while written claims and other visuals were the least significant. Use of the Health Star Rating (HSR) system and other features were related to the child's fussiness level and parents’ concerns about their child's weight with parents of fussy children, in particular, being less influenced by the HSR star information and price. The findings suggest that front-of-pack health labeling systems can affect choice when parents trade this information off against marketing attributes, yet some marketing attributes can be more influential, and not all parents utilize this information in the same way

The transportation network rough description for an adaptive traffic control algorithms by means of video detection technique

The contribution discusses a transportation network rough description that corresponds to satisfactory level of an adaptive traffic control algorithms implementation [4], supported by video-detection system. The decision making algorithms have to provide us with not only vehicles’ approach time prediction, at the intersections but also finding possible solution for avoiding critical queues at the intersections. Majority of traditional traffic control systems are based on number of cars recorded by inductive loops, however they do not define any proper occupation states at any traffic lane. The time window indicated for passing the defined number of cars loses the distance gaps visible between the cars on the traffic lane. That is why remarkable part from the defined number of cars will not cross the intersection in the defined green light time. Procedures used for searching an optimal solution using the inductive measurements can, in the majority cases, be undoubtedly noticed as a theoretical analysis only

Managing Climate Risk : Reducing Emissions and Achieving Net Zero Targets

Radical action must be taken now to curb the worst outcome from our current climate crisis. The Scottish Government has been a world leader in climate action as a result of legally binding emissions reductions targets established by the 2009 Climate Change (Scotland) Act. The Managing Climate Risk conference, organised by Holyrood Insight, drew attention to enhancements to the 2009 Act that introduce a legally binding monitored commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2045. Importantly, the conference pinpointed key areas for action together with the challenges of, and practical opportunities arising from, delivering on commitments. Delivering on the Scottish commitment requires transformation in the community, public sector and businesses. During the conference approaches to altering structures and strategies were set out alongside a variety of other ways to incentivise and support change in people’s day-to-day behaviour. There have been easy wins in electricity generation but now energy efficiency measures must be mainstreamed and the transportation system be completely rethought. Emissions reduction must be part of a coordinated global effort; Scotland can achieve net zero in way that brings communities together and encourages health benefits
