Nonzero solutions for a class of set-valued variational inequalities in reflexive Banach spaces
AbstractIn this paper, we study the existence of nonzero solutions for a class of set-valued variational inequalities involving set-contractive mappings by using the fixed point index approach in reflexive Banach spaces. Some new existence theorems of nonzero solutions for this class of set-valued variational inequalities are established
Application of Market Models to Network Equilibrium Problems
We present a general two-side market model with divisible commodities and
price functions of participants. A general existence result on unbounded sets
is obtained from its variational inequality re-formulation. We describe an
extension of the network flow equilibrium problem with elastic demands and a
new equilibrium type model for resource allocation problems in wireless
communication networks, which appear to be particular cases of the general
market model. This enables us to obtain new existence results for these models
as some adjustments of that for the market model. Under certain additional
conditions the general market model can be reduced to a decomposable
optimization problem where the goal function is the sum of two functions and
one of them is convex separable, whereas the feasible set is the corresponding
Cartesian product. We discuss some versions of the partial linearization
method, which can be applied to these network equilibrium problems.Comment: 18 pages, 3 table
Fuzzy games with a countable space of actions and applications to systems of generalized quasi-variational inequalities
In this paper, we introduce an abstract fuzzy economy (generalized fuzzy
game) model with a countable space of actions and we study the existence of the
fuzzy equilibrium. As applications, two types of results are obtained. The
first ones concern the existence of the solutions for systems of generalized
quasi-variational inequalities with random fuzzy mappings which we define. The
last ones are new random fixed point theorems for correspondences with values
in complete countable metric spaces.Comment: 18 page
Variational Inequality Approach to Stochastic Nash Equilibrium Problems with an Application to Cournot Oligopoly
In this note we investigate stochastic Nash equilibrium problems by means of
monotone variational inequalities in probabilistic Lebesgue spaces. We apply
our approach to a class of oligopolistic market equilibrium problems where the
data are known through their probability distributions.Comment: 19 pages, 2 table
Differential-Algebraic Equations and Beyond: From Smooth to Nonsmooth Constrained Dynamical Systems
The present article presents a summarizing view at differential-algebraic
equations (DAEs) and analyzes how new application fields and corresponding
mathematical models lead to innovations both in theory and in numerical
analysis for this problem class. Recent numerical methods for nonsmooth
dynamical systems subject to unilateral contact and friction illustrate the
topicality of this development.Comment: Preprint of Book Chapte
