    Performance Analysis of Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode for Nonlinear Control of the Doubly Fed Induction Motor

    In this article, we propose a contribution to the control of a doubly fed induction motor by sliding mode with adaptive fuzzy logic. The technique of vector-control by classical field oriented applied to the doubly fed induction motor (DFIM) with mechanical sensors made it possible to have performances comparable with that of the direct current motor. However, it very sensitive to the parametric variations of the machine. The regulation speed by a classical regulator (PI) presents disadvantages: Poor robustness against parametric uncertainties of modeling and no the considering of the disturbances and little degree of freedom for the regulation. Because this effect, several robust controls were proposed in the technical literature to ensure the decoupling of the currents of the DFIM in a reference (d, q) leading to calculate simplified correctors. Among them, the variable structure control by sliding mode. It uses algorithms of regulations which ensure the robustness of the behavior of the process compared to the parametric variations and disturbances. Also, the impact of regulators based on artificial intelligence techniques such as adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller are studied. In terms of results obtained, good dynamic performance and robustness with respect to load disturbances and parametric variation has been observed

    In the paper the general approach to motion control systems in the sliding mode framework is discussed in details. It has been shown that, due to the fact that a motion control system with n d.o.f may be mathematically formulated in a unique way as a system composed on n 2 d.o.f systems, design of such a system may be formulated in a unique way as a requirement that the generalized coordinates must satisfy certain algebraic constrain. Such a formulation leads naturally to sliding mode methods to be applied where sliding mode manifolds are selected to coincide with desired constraints on the generalized coordinates. In addition to the above problem the design of full observer for IM based drive is discussed

    Self-Commissioning Algorithm for Inverter Non-Linearity Compensation in Sensorless Induction Motor Drives

    In many sensorless field-oriented control schemes for induction motor (IM) drives, flux is estimated by means of measured motor currents and control reference voltages. In most cases, flux estimation is based on the integral of back-electromotive-force (EMF) voltages. Inverter nonlinear errors (dead-time and on-state voltage drops) introduce a distortion in the estimated voltage that reduces the accuracy of the flux estimation, particularly at low speed. In the literature, most of the compensation techniques of such errors require the offline identification of the inverter model and offline postprocessing. This paper presents a simple and accurate method for the identification of inverter parameters at the drive startup. The method is integrated into the control code of the IM drive, and it is based on the information contained in the feedback signal of the flux observer. The procedure applies, more in general, to all those sensorless ac drives where the flux is estimated using the back-EMF integration, not only for IM drives but also for permanent-magnet synchronous motor drives (surface-mounted permanent magnet and interior permanent magnet). A self-commissioning algorithm is presented and tested for the sensorless control of an IM drive, implemented on a fixed-point DSP. The feasibility and effectiveness of the method are demonstrated by experimental result

    Two wheel speed robust sliding mode control for electric vehicle drive

    Nowadays the uses of electrical power resources are integrated in the modern vehicle motion traction chain so new technologies allow the development of electric vehicles (EV) by means of static converters-related electric motors. All mechanical transmission devices are eliminated and vehicle wheel motion can be controlled by means of power electronics. The proposed propulsing system consists of two induction motors (IM) that ensure the drive of the two back driving wheels. The proposed control structure-called independent machines- for speed control permit the achievement of an electronic differential. The electronic differential system ensures the robust control of the vehicle behavior on the road. It also allows controlling independently, every driving wheel to turn at different speeds in any curve.
