    Requirement mining for model-based product design

    PLM software applications should enable engineers to develop and manage requirements throughout the product’s lifecycle. However, PLM activities of the beginning-of-life and end-of-life of a product mainly deal with a fastidious document-based approach. Indeed, requirements are scattered in many different prescriptive documents (reports, specifications, standards, regulations, etc.) that make the feeding of a requirements management tool laborious. Our contribution is two-fold. First, we propose a natural language processing (NLP) pipeline to extract requirements from prescriptive documents. Second, we show how machine learning techniques can be used to develop a text classifier that will automatically classify requirements into disciplines. Both contributions support companies willing to feed a requirements management tool from prescriptive documents. The NLP experiment shows an average precision of 0.86 and an average recall of 0.95, whereas the SVM requirements classifier outperforms that of naive Bayes with a 76% accuracy rate

Duffy The purpose of the present study is to explore the application of Bayesian networks in the consumer service industry to model causal relationships within complex risk factor structures using aggregate data. An analysis of the Hawaii tourism market was conducted to find out how visitor characteristics affect their behavior and experience as consumers during the trips, and influence the tourism market outcomes represented by measurable factors. Two hypotheses were proposed regarding the use of aggregate data and the influence of visitor origin, and were verified through the analysis. The source data came from the Hawaii Tourism Authority\u27s official website, including monthly tourists highlight reports over a period of 36 months. The analysis verified the hypotheses that visitor origin, as a symbol of cultural background, plays an important role in their behavior, preferences, decisions and experience in consuming. The results were validated both statistically and against literature and expert opinion. In the increasingly segmented tourism market, such findings can help tourism service providers improve consumer satisfaction and loyalty with assistance in policy-making, investment decision-making, resource planning, and strategic marketing

In this thesis the use of advanced analytical methods for fraud detection will be investigated, through the analysis of the existent literature on this topic. Both a systematic review of the literature and a bibliometric approach will be applied to the most appropriate database to measure the scientific production and current trends. This study intends to contribute to the academic research that have been conducted, in order to centralize the existing information on this topic

    Adam Deep Learning with SOM for Human Sentiment Classification

    Nowadays, with the improvement in communication through social network services, a massive amount of data is being generated from user's perceptions, emotions, posts, comments, reactions, etc., and extracting significant information from those massive data, like sentiment, has become one of the complex and convoluted tasks. On other hand, traditional Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches are less feasible to be applied and therefore, this research work proposes an approach by integrating unsupervised machine learning (Self-Organizing Map), dimensionality reduction (Principal Component Analysis) and computational classification (Adam Deep Learning) to overcome the problem. Moreover, for further clarification, a comparative study between various well known approaches and the proposed approach was conducted. The proposed approach was also used in different sizes of social network data sets to verify its superior efficient and feasibility, mainly in the case of Big Data. Overall, the experiments and their analysis suggest that the proposed approach is very promissing
