Most of the prior studies focused more on individuals' adoption intention of e-government services, however, there are limited empirical studies that focused on continuance intention which is about what happens beyond the initial adoption stage in e-government studies and particularly in e-filing context in Malaysia. Thus given the paucity of research on continuance intention, this study attempts to examine the influence of perceived system quality and perceived information quality towards continuance intention of tax e-filing system using a review of literature

Despite the increased numbers of online consumers, e-commerce growth is slow in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this correlational study, the technology acceptance model (TAM) was used as a theoretical framework to examine whether perceived ease of use of e-commerce platforms and perceived usefulness of e-commerce platforms could predict consumers\u27 intention to adopt shopping online. A pre-existing TAM survey instrument was used to collect data from consumers (N = 95) who live in a City and have shopped at least once online. The regression analysis confirmed a positive statistically significant relationship between perceived ease of use of e-commerce platforms and consumers\u27 intent to adopt online shopping. The results showed that perceived ease of use of e-commerce platforms and perceived usefulness of e-commerce platforms were statistically significant in predicting consumers\u27 intent to adopt online shopping, with F(2, 92) = 241.630, p \u3c .001, R2 = .840, and adjusted R2 = .837, and accounted for 84% of the variance in consumers\u27 intent to adopt online shopping. The correlation between perceived ease of use and consumers\u27 intent to adopt online shopping was (PEOU) r= .916, p \u3c .001 and the correlation significance between perceived usefulness and consumers\u27 intent to adopt online shopping was (PU) r= .591, p \u3c .001. Using study results, retailers may be able to develop improved strategies to increase profitability via online shopping. The implications for positive social change include the potential for improved quality of life for consumers in Saudi Arabia

The research was financed by Universiti Putra Malaysia (Putra Grant) No. GP-IPS/2014/9433928 (Sponsoring information) Abstract There has been a continuous commitment of policymakers in Malaysia to support information and communication technology (ICT) adoption in small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs). For these novel and innovative policy initiatives to be successful, an understanding of the SMEs’ ICT use pattern and use behaviour is required. In this study, the focus is upon the pattern of the use of ICT in agribusiness enterprises and the use level, which could explain the role that ICTs play in the performance (processing and production) of agro-based products by Malaysian agro-SMEs and give insight into the factors that influence their ICT use. The study adopted the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and focused on model’s independent variable, i.e., ICT use. Using data obtained from randomly sampled 400 workers (both managers and employees) of 43 agribusiness enterprises that were also randomly selected, the study ran factor and descriptive analyses to determine the most important items in the questionnaire that determine the ICT use level in the scale. The findings have shown that the prevalent patterns of ICT use among the agro-SMEs are in entrepreneurial (organisational) business communication and product processing and production line, though the use of ICT in the latter purview was rather still low. Some recommendations for policy-makers and a suggestion for future research were provided. Keywords: Agribusiness Enterprises, ICT use behaviour, ICT use level, ICT use pattern, SME

The growing number of digital platforms nowadays has made the competition to gain users’ attention a challenging task for businesses. Clutter in advertising and sponsored brand posts have made the task even harder as consumers repel to avoid that clutter daily. In contrast with the past, consumers use social media to fulfill certain needs when they are aware of the needs such as hedonic needs, cognitive needs, and social needs. This is why the existence of social media marketing activities known as entertainment, interactivity, and electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) is crucial in the marketing planning of a business. Guided by a unique, diversified and preferences-tailored algorithm, TikTok social media app is showing significant growth over the few years since the year of its commencement in comparison to its competitors of social media providers like Facebook and Instagram. The short video app has included a new business model of social commerce called TikTok Shop to promote continuous use providing more than just entertainment. Therefore, to fulfill the objective of this paper in exploring the SMMAs impact on the s-commerce of TikTok Shop, secondary data was employed. The analysis concludes that social media marketing activities or also known as SMMAs in the newly added feature of TikTok Shop have a significant impact in influencing its users. The significant difference between traditional e-commerce and s-commerce was also highlighted to further outline the bright sides of s-commerce

    Get PDF
The main purpose of this paper is to examine the continuance intention (CI) of citizens in following government Facebook page. Applying theories of expectation-confirmation, and information system success on a sample of 362 students in Malaysia, and using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), the study finds that CI and satisfaction of government Facebook page is contingent upon information quality (IQ) of the Facebook page per se. IQ is found as a second order construct of five first order factors: reliability, completeness, relevancy, timeliness, and understandability. Satisfaction of government Facebook page is also found as a partial mediator to the relationship between IQ and CI of following government Facebook page. In addition, applying PLS multi-group analysis, the results show that different government Facebook pages moderate the relationships between IQ and satisfaction of government Facebook page, IQ and CI of following government Facebook page as well as satisfaction of government Facebook page and CI of following government Facebook page

Technology development has impacted the way businesses disseminate information to its stakeholders. eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) offers the ability to exchange business and financial information globally through a digitalized global standard language which is part of the global integrated reporting. There are limited studies on XBRL and enormous opportunities for further research globally, as well as in Malaysia. There have been studies on awareness and intention to adopt XBRLbased digital reporting, but no study has been conducted to understand the internal and external factors that would drive the perceived timeline to adopt XBRL amongst Public Listed Companies (PLC) in Malaysia. The goal of this study is in line with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM))’s intent to promote the voluntary adoption of XBRL in 2018 and upcoming mandates by other agencies. The proposed perceived timeline on XBRL adoption model was adapted from a previous study which represents an all-inclusive study at firm level as it combines the internal and external variables from the Diffusion of Innovations (DOI) Model, Technology, Organization and Environment (TOE) Framework (1990) and Iacovou et al. (1995) Model. The model was tested with data collected from 256 executives and managers of PLCs in Peninsular Malaysia. The findings of the study demonstrates that internal factors such as management characteristics (Management Innovativeness and Management Knowledge) and organisational characteristic (Internet Knowledge) along with external environmental factor (External Pressure) would influence the perceived timeline for XBRL adoption amongst Malaysian PLCs. The results support the current body of knowledge on the internal and external determinants influencing the perceived timeline of XBRL adoption and enable sufficient measures to be taken by authorities to increase the XBRL Adoption readiness amongst PLCs in Malaysia. The findings will prepare PLCs for a successful XBRL implementation before it is mandated in Malaysi

This study will attempt to analyze the acceptance and use of technology in SMEs of food industry in order to understand the SMEs behavior towards acceptance and use of higher level of technology. A model developed and empirically tested through survey data obtained from 135 organizations. This model was analyzed using SPSS and test exploratory factor analysis. The result indicates effort expectancy has been removing and this study decides to replace this construct resistance to use. Thus, this study contributes to existing literature by incorporating resistance of use of new construct UTAUT theory as a proposed model
