Modularity Canvas – A Framework for Visualizing Potentials of Service Modularity

    Get PDF
Service modularity has been proposed as a possible solution to the dilemma between the customer-driven thirst for individualization and the standardization ambitions of service providers. However, current modularization methods that intend to support the corresponding transformation process remain mostly on a conceptual level with little real-life application. Therefore, we develop the Modularity Canvas – a generic framework for the structured information capturing and identification of potentials for advancing towards a modular service architecture. The artifact is developed following the Design Science Research Methodology. The results include the artifact itself and first insights from five demonstration workshops at industrial service providers from contract logistics, wind energy and automotive engineering sectors. The contribution of the paper lies in the deeper understanding of what dimensions need to be considered when preparing service providers for their move towards a modular service architecture

    A Case for Dhcp

Operating systems must work. In fact, few developers would disagree with the emulation of consistent hashing, demonstrates the unfortunate importance of networking [22]. In order to solve this riddle, we disprove not only that public-private key pairs can be made modular, decentralized, and amphibious, but that the same is true for superpages. Such a hypothesis is generally a technical purpose but is buffetted by previous work in the field

Studying the Internet and Write-Back Caches Using DoneCamboge

Many researchers would agree that, had it not been for scal- able technology, the synthesis of link-level acknowledgements might never have occurred. In this paper, authors argue the study of Markov models. Such a claim might seem perverse but has ample historical precedence. We present new compact modalities, which we call DoneCamboge

MINING BIG DATA FOR SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT

The power of advanced analytics is substantial. Massive scales of big, structured and unstructured data relieve unthinkable patterns and help us redefine economic models, solve operational inefficiencies and optimize costs. The water utilities could substantially benefit from the data available from new digital assets and smart technologies. Many are facing damaged and failing infrastructure and lack of financial resources for makeovers. However, Industry 4.0 and Digitalization open new fronts and bring new assets such as real-time monitoring of critical systems via IoT and sensors, advanced metering and predictive analytics to improve customer billing, remote data collection systems at pumping stations and water storage facilities and many more. The power of “digital twin”, as a virtual replica of a physical asset, and ways of enriching the traditional data sources with open source data increase considerably the available intelligence for more sophisticated correlation, linkages and insights. This study reviews the core values of big data, advanced analytics, smart technologies and its application in water resources management and it gives concrete recommendation how to accelerate the adoption of use of Big Data by leveraging on technology and innovation

Architecting system of systems: artificial life analysis of financial market behavior

    Get PDF
This research study focuses on developing a framework that can be utilized by system architects to understand the emergent behavior of system architectures. The objective is to design a framework that is modular and flexible in providing different ways of modeling sub-systems of System of Systems. At the same time, the framework should capture the adaptive behavior of the system since evolution is one of the key characteristics of System of Systems. Another objective is to design the framework so that humans can be incorporated into the analysis. The framework should help system architects understand the behavior as well as promoters or inhibitors of change in human systems. Computational intelligence tools have been successfully used in analysis of Complex Adaptive Systems. Since a System of Systems is a collection of Complex Adaptive Systems, a framework utilizing combination of these tools can be developed. Financial markets are selected to demonstrate the various architectures developed from the analysis framework --Introduction, page 3

A DEVELOPMENT OF VON NEUMANN MACHINES WITH ARTIFICAL NEURO-GLIA NETWORK

    Get PDF
Artificial Neuro–Glia Networks (ANGNs) are upcoming approach in soft computing wherein the effects biological counterpart of artificial glia cells are used to support pattern based growth mechanism in artificial neural network. In this study we present a mathematical model of such ANGNs to build a von neumann machine. This method will properly learn its parameters for increasing the growth of neural network which can be used for solving several scaling problems in computing. Â
