    Firefox Extension to Add Contacts, Events, and View Addresses

    Users of the Firefox browser have the ability to download plugins to manage their contacts. This usually involves typing or copying the details from some source to add contacts. Event and meeting invitations are sent by mail and are added to the user’s calendar once the user accepts the invitation. Users viewing address data on websites are limited to the mapping capabilities provided by the webpage viewed by the user. We developed a Firefox extension that allows the user to select portions of text with contact or event information and add it as a contact or an event in the calendar of their existing mail client application such as: Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, etc. The data is automatically parsed to pick up relevant information such as name, street address, phone number, and email address in case of contacts and street addresses and event dates in case of event. The extension also allows users to right click on a webpage that has a tabular display of addresses and view these addresses on a maps application such as Google Maps

    The Extended Ellett Line is a full-depth hydrographic section between Iceland, 60°N 20°W, Rockall and Scotland. The original Ellett Line across the Rockall Trough was first occupied in 1975 when measurements were attempted four times a year. In 1996 the line was extended to Iceland and since then has been occupied approximately annually. The data form a 35 year time series of the oceanic conditions west of the British Isles.The section monitors the characteristics of the warm water inflow into the Nordic Seas and thence to the Arctic, and observes part of the returning cold water outflow with easurements of the Iceland-Scotland Overflow and the overflow of the Wyville-Thomson Ridge into the Rockall Trough.The 2011 occupation, RRS Discovery cruise 365, was curtailed by both technical problems and bad weather. 45 of the 48 CTD stations were worked between the Iceland and Scotland shelf edges. Line G, part of the SAMS observation network of the Scottish continental shelf was partially completed, with 4 stations at the western end not worked. Samples were taken for CFC and SF6 analysis, DIC and alkalinity, inorganic nutrients, aluminium, POC, bacterial abundance and biomass, and for phytoplankton community structure. Plans to repeat stations, to collect validation data for the SAMS glider and to investigate eddies in the Rockall Trough had to be abandoned

    GM2Calc: Precise MSSM prediction for (g2)(g - 2) of the muon

    We present GM2Calc, a public C++ program for the calculation of MSSM contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, (g2)μ(g-2)_\mu. The code computes (g2)μ(g-2)_\mu precisely, by taking into account the latest two-loop corrections and by performing the calculation in a physical on-shell renormalization scheme. In particular the program includes a tanβ\tan\beta resummation so that it is valid for arbitrarily high values of tanβ\tan\beta, as well as fermion/sfermion-loop corrections which lead to non-decoupling effects from heavy squarks. GM2Calc can be run with a standard SLHA input file, internally converting the input into on-shell parameters. Alternatively, input parameters may be specified directly in this on-shell scheme. In both cases the input file allows one to switch on/off individual contributions to study their relative impact. This paper also provides typical usage examples not only in conjunction with spectrum generators and plotting programs but also as C++ subroutines linked to other programs.Comment: 27 pages, 4 figures, 4 listings; version sent to EPJ

    An Extensible Benchmarking Infrastructure for Motion Planning Algorithms

    Sampling-based planning algorithms are the most common probabilistically complete algorithms and are widely used on many robot platforms. Within this class of algorithms, many variants have been proposed over the last 20 years, yet there is still no characterization of which algorithms are well-suited for which classes of problems. This has motivated us to develop a benchmarking infrastructure for motion planning algorithms. It consists of three main components. First, we have created an extensive benchmarking software framework that is included with the Open Motion Planning Library (OMPL), a C++ library that contains implementations of many sampling-based algorithms. Second, we have defined extensible formats for storing benchmark results. The formats are fairly straightforward so that other planning libraries could easily produce compatible output. Finally, we have created an interactive, versatile visualization tool for compact presentation of collected benchmark data.
