    Synchronization in an array of linearly stochastically coupled networks with time delays

The stochastic coupling term, which can reflect a more realistic dynamical behavior of coupled systems in practice, is introduced to model a coupled system, and the influence from the stochastic noises on the array of coupled delayed neural networks is studied thoroughly. Based on a simple adaptive feedback control scheme and some stochastic analysis techniques, several sufficient conditions are developed to guarantee the synchronization in an array of linearly stochastically coupled neural networks with time delays.     Complex Dynamics and Synchronization of Delayed-Feedback Nonlinear Oscillators

    We describe a flexible and modular delayed-feedback nonlinear oscillator that is capable of generating a wide range of dynamical behaviours, from periodic oscillations to high-dimensional chaos. The oscillator uses electrooptic modulation and fibre-optic transmission, with feedback and filtering implemented through real-time digital-signal processing. We consider two such oscillators that are coupled to one another, and we identify the conditions under which they will synchronize. By examining the rates of divergence or convergence between two coupled oscillators, we quantify the maximum Lyapunov exponents or transverse Lyapunov exponents of the system, and we present an experimental method to determine these rates that does not require a mathematical model of the system. Finally, we demonstrate a new adaptive control method that keeps two oscillators synchronized even when the coupling between them is changing unpredictably.Comment: 24 pages, 13 figures.     Recent advances on filtering and control for nonlinear stochastic complex systems with incomplete information: A survey

The incomplete information under consideration mainly includes missing measurements, randomly varying sensor delays, signal quantization, sensor saturations, and signal sampling. With such incomplete information, the developments on various filtering and control issues are reviewed in great detail. In particular, the addressed nonlinear stochastic complex systems are so comprehensive that they include conventional nonlinear stochastic systems, different kinds of complex networks, and a large class of sensor networks. The corresponding filtering and control technologies for such nonlinear stochastic complex systems are then discussed. Subsequently, some latest results on the filtering and control problems for the complex systems with incomplete information are given.     Time-and event-driven communication process for networked control systems: A survey

In particular, an urgent need has arisen to understand the effects of communication processes on system performances. Sampling and protocol are two fundamental aspects of a communication process which have attracted a great deal of research attention. Most research focus has been on the analysis and control of dynamical behaviors under certain sampling procedures and communication protocols. In this paper, we aim to survey some recent advances on the analysis and synthesis issues of NCSs with different sampling procedures (time-and event-driven sampling) and protocols (static and dynamic protocols). First, these sampling procedures and protocols are introduced in detail according to their engineering backgrounds as well as dynamic natures. Then, the developments of the stabilization, control, and filtering problems are systematically reviewed and discussed in great detail. The network under investigation is quite general to reflect the reality, where the state delays are allowed to be time varying with given lower and upper bounds, and the stochastic disturbances are assumed to be Brownian motions that affect not only the network coupling but also the overall networks. By utilizing the Lyapunov functional method combined with linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques, we obtain several sufficient delay-dependent conditions that ensure the coupled networks to be globally exponentially synchronized in the mean square. A control law is designed to synchronize the addressed coupled complex networks in terms of certain LMIs that can be readily solved using the Matlab LMI toolbox.     Synchronization of chaotic delayed systems via intermittent control and its adaptive strategy

    In this paper the problem of synchronization for delayed chaotic systems is considered based on aperiodic intermittent control. First, delayed chaotic systems are proposed via aperiodic adaptive intermittent control. Next, to cut down the control gain, a new generalized intermittent control and its adaptive strategy is introduced. Then, by constructing a piecewise Lyapunov auxiliary function and making use of piecewise analysis technique, some effective and novel criteria are obtained to ensure the global synchronization of delayed chaotic systems by means of the designed control protocols. At the end, two examples with numerical simulations are provided to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results proposed scheme

    Robust Multimode Function Synchronization of Memristive Neural Networks with Parameter Perturbations and Time-Varying Delays

Therefore, how to give a generalization of these types of complete synchronization by the mathematical expression is an open question that needs to be urgently solved. To begin with, this article proposes multimode function synchronization by the mathematical expression for the first time, which is a generalization of exponential synchronization, power-rate synchronization, logarithmical synchronization, and so on. Moreover, two adaptive controllers are designed to achieve robust multimode function synchronization of memristive neural networks (MNNs) with mismatched parameters and uncertain parameters. Each adaptive controller includes function r(t) and update gain σ. By choosing different types of r(t), multiple types of complete synchronization, including power-rate synchronization and exponential synchronization can be obtained. And update gain σ can be used to adjust the speed of synchronization. Therefore, our results enlarge and strengthen the existing results.
