A number of general theories of physics provide a model for the fundamental rules that govern our universe, becoming a structural framework to which the new discoveries must conform. The theory of relativity is such a general theory. The theory of relativity is a complex theoretical framework that facilitates the understanding of the universal laws of physics. It is based on the curved space-time continuum fabric abstract concept, and it is well suited for interpreting cosmic events. More so, a general theory based on abstract concepts and imagination facilitates the emergence of countless new extravagant theories. A new simplified theory of the natural world is necessary, a simple theory that provides a verifiable framework on which new discoveries can be integrated. The paper describes a view of the abstract time/space concept, and also a very simple model of our ever-changing universe. Views of physicists, mathematicians, chemists, engineers and of course philosophers have to be all in harmony with such a theory. We leave in a beautiful, uniform, and logical world. Text This article studies the Hellenic and Hellenistic sources of Pseudo-Dionysius on Beautiful, and its purpose is to clarify the extent of the influence of the philosophy of Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus and Proclus on aesthetics in the thought system of Dionysius. A Quandary of Errors: The Problem of Innocence in Paradise Lost

When Milton’s Adam and Eve fall in Paradise Lost, everything changes: the earth tilts, the animals begin to eat each other, Sin and Death enter into the world. The course of history for all of Adam and Eve’s children depends on that single moment. Whether their Fall is fortunate or catastrophic, it does cost them not only their beautiful paradise but also their innocence, their pure existence. That they were innocent to start with seems obvious—Milton reiterates over and over, in as many ways as possible, that Adam and Eve remain innocent until they Fall. However, in several scenes throughout the poem, Adam and Eve are rebuked, Adam by the angel Raphael and Eve by Adam. These rebukes seem irreconcilable with a state of perfect innocence. How can Adam or Eve be reprimanded for doing wrong if they, by their very natures, do everything right? If they are truly, completely innocent of all sin, how do they make so many mistakes, even before eating the forbidden fruit? A closer analysis of these rebuke scenes through the lens of Milton’s theology in De Doctrina Christiana reveals that it is indeed possible for Adam and Eve to make mistakes while maintaining their innocence because sin and error are not synonymous

Paying it forward: A cancer survivor and his wife share their reflections and recommendations as a patient and caregiver

I grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago and had a relatively normal childhood but not necessarily an easy one. Shortly after graduating from Indiana University, I moved out west and have been working in the entertainment industry ever since. My life has been a beautiful and interesting adventure with twists and turns I could have never predicted. In 2016 it seemed like everything was really coming together. I had been happily married to my wife and business partner Mary Lou Sandler since 2011, and we had been growing our photography/film production studio for as many years. I was in peak physical condition. I felt good. I thought I was ready for the next level in life. In fact, I was declaring it. I was ready! It was of great surprise to us all when on May 4, 2017 I was diagnosed with cancer in the form of a large germ cell tumor, located inside of my chest and aggressively growing into my heart and lung. It’s very easy to fall into the victim role. After being diagnosed, I made a firm decision to instead be the victor... it changed everything. Through a philosophy I call “Embrace Love Free, I began to view cancer in an entirely new way. With the experience of facing an illness, one can grow and evolve in unimaginable ways. When it comes to my caregiver Mary Lou, it’s a similar yet very different story. While we both were on this journey together, I had to drop everything to focus on survival. She had to drop everything to care for me. It is from our own positive experience that we want to see medical professionals improve the experience of cancer patients by incorporating things like meditation, aromatherapy, positive thinking, and healthier food choices
