    The Influence of Using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technology and Knowledge Management on the Quality of Accounting Information Systems

    Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of using enterprise resource planning (ERP) technology and knowledge management on the quality of accounting information systems. The study was conducted on 30 state-owned enterprises in Gorontalo province where the respondents were managers, and financial heads / supervisors, using survey methods. Data testing uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Part Least Square (PLS) analysis approach.The results of the study prove that the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) technology affects the quality of accounting information systems, and knowledge management influences the quality of accounting information systems. Enterprise Resource Planning technology has been integrated in all lines in state-owned enterprises, as well as knowledge management has been implemented well in all organizational lines.Keywords: Enterprise resource planning technology, Knowledge management, quality of accounting information systems

    Enterprise Resource Planning system and its impact on tourism companies' operational performance

    Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between applying the Enterprise Resource Planning system and operational performance, and to develop proposed framework to achieve the requirements of the ERP system, in addition, to measure its availability within tourism companies. Research methodology: The study design is a qualitative study. Data are presented in descriptive form, with in-depth and adaptable analysis. Sample Collection by intentional sampling, the sample chosen depends on the study objectives without regard to the ability of a generalist. The study was based on the distribution of a survey list on a random sample of employees of tourism companies in Egypt. Results: The structural equation modeling results indicate that all the employed dimensions to gauge the impact of ERP system (represented by the components of the system), have direct influence and an indirect impact on the operational performance and then access to the quality of tourism service provided. These findings help to explain the mixed discoveries in the literature concerning the pattern of the causal relationship between ERPs with operational performance and service quality. Limitation: The field study data were collected from survey forms from May to July 2019. Three hundred thirty questionnaire forms were distributed, 310 usable replies were received with a response rate of 93.9%. Contribution: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has received considerable attention in the last years. Many organizations seek to integrate their IT infrastructures by implementing the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). So implementing ERP system helps tourism companies in raising performance rates through reducing the time to do more business, reducing cost, increasing productivity, which leads to higher performance rates.     Proposal for a Reference Model for Sales Operations Planning and Aggregate Planning

    Companies are increasingly adopting practices aimed at improving the quality of management, with the main purpose of enabling them to act competitively in the present market characterized by high competition and strong organizational changes. Among the improvements developed, we highlight the adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. However, the high cost of deploying and maintaining this type of technology can be a barrier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to achieve such advances. Therefore, it is essential to develop a reference model of typical business planning modules to support ERP implementation, aiming at reducing time and cost in the elaboration of a particular model. In this context, the main objective of this paper is to develop a reference model from the elaboration of the processes related to Sales Operations Planning (SOP) and Aggregate Planning (AP), important modules of Production Planning and Control (PPC). The methodology used for the elaboration of this work was divided in eight sequential stages: study of the functions of SOP and AP, study of process modeling area, definition of reference model processes, choice of modeling notation, choice of modeling tool , development of the reference model, software development and results analysis. The modeling methodology employed in this work was the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), through the tool Bizagi Process Modeler version 3.1.0.011. The software was developed through the interface Delphi version 7.0 (Object-Pascal language) in order to apply the reference model in the support to the implementation of a business management tool. As results, from a formal documentation, the reference model proved to be a useful tool in understanding and communicating the business processes raised. It is also concluded that the implemented model is able to support the implementation of production management systems in real situations

    Business process modelling in ERP implementation literature review

    Business processes are the backbone of any Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation. Business process modelling (BPM) has become essential for modern, process driven enterprises due to the vibrant business environments. As a consequence enterprises are dealing with a substantial rate of organizational and business processes change. Business process modelling enables a common understanding and analysis of the business processes, which is the first step in every ERP implementation methodology (blueprint phase). In order to represent enterprise processes models in an accurate manner, it is paramount to choose a right business process modeling technique and tool. The problem of many ERP projects rated as unsuccessful is directly connected to a lack of use of business process models and notations during the blueprint phase. Also, blueprint implementation phase is crucial in order to fit planned processes in an organization with processes implemented in the solution. However, business analysts and ERP implementation professionals have substantial difficulties to navigate through a large number of theoretical models and representational notations that have been proposed for business process modeling (BPM). As the availability of different business process modeling references is huge, it is time consuming to make review and classification of all modeling techniques. Therefor, in reality majority of ERP implementations blueprint documents have no business process modeling included in generating blueprint documents. Choosing the right model comprise the purpose of the analysis and acquaintance of the available process modelling techniques and tools. The number of references on business modelling is quit large, so it is very hard to make a decision which modeling notation or technique to use. The main purpose of this paper is to make a review of business process modelling literature and describe the key process modelling techniques. The focus will be on all business process modeling that could be used in ERP implementations, specifically during the blueprint phase of the implementation process. Detailed review of BPM (Business process modeling) theoretical models and representational notations, should assist decision makers and ERP integrators in comparatively evaluating and selecting suitable modeling approaches

    An extensible manufacturing resource model for process integration

    Driven by industrial needs and enabled by process technology and information technology, enterprise integration is rapidly shifting from information integration to process integration to improve overall performance of enterprises. Traditional resource models are established based on the needs of individual applications. They cannot effectively serve process integration which needs resources to be represented in a unified, comprehensive and flexible way to meet the needs of various applications for different business processes. This paper looks into this issue and presents a configurable and extensible resource model which can be rapidly reconfigured and extended to serve for different applications. To achieve generality, the presented resource model is established from macro level and micro level. A semantic representation method is developed to improve the flexibility and extensibility of the model
