Nowadays, e-Science applications involve great deal of data to have more accurate analysis. One of its application domains is the Radio Occultation which manages satellite data. Grid Processing Management is a physical infrastructure geographically distributed based on Grid Computing, that is implemented for the overall processing Radio Occultation analysis. After a brief description of algorithms adopted to characterize atmospheric profiles, the paper presents an improvement of job scheduling in order to decrease processing time and optimize resource utilization. Extension of grid computing capacity is implemented by virtual machines in existing physical Grid in order to satisfy temporary job requests. Also scheduling plays an important role in the infrastructure that is handled by a couple of schedulers which are developed to manage data automaticall

Cloud computing plays an important role in our daily life. It has direct and positive impact on share and update data, knowledge, storage and scientific resources between various regions. Cloud computing performance heavily based on job scheduling algorithms that are utilized for queue waiting in modern scientific applications. The researchers are considered cloud computing a popular platform for new enforcements. These scheduling algorithms help in design efficient queue lists in cloud as well as they play vital role in reducing waiting for processing time in cloud computing. A novel job scheduling is proposed in this paper to enhance performance of cloud computing and reduce delay time in queue waiting for jobs. The proposed algorithm tries to avoid some significant challenges that throttle from developing applications of cloud computing. However, a smart scheduling technique is proposed in our paper to improve performance processing in cloud applications. Our experimental result of the proposed job scheduling algorithm shows that the proposed schemes possess outstanding enhancing rates with a reduction in waiting time for jobs in queue list

Cloud scheduling optimization: a reactive model to enable dynamic deployment of virtual machines instantiations

This study proposes a model for supporting the decision making process of the cloud policy for the deployment of virtual machines in cloud environments. We explore two configurations, the static case in which virtual machines are generated according to the cloud orchestration, and the dynamic case in which virtual machines are reactively adapted according to the job submissions, using migration, for optimizing performance time metrics. We integrate both solutions in the same simulator for measuring the performance of various combinations of virtual machines, jobs and hosts in terms of the average execution and total simulation time. We conclude that the dynamic configuration is prosperus as it offers optimized job execution performance

Reputation-guided Evolutionary Scheduling Algorithm for Independent Tasks in inter-Clouds Environments

    Get PDF
Self-adaptation provides software with flexibility to different behaviours (configurations) it incorporates and the (semi-) autonomous ability to switch between these behaviours in response to changes. To empower clouds with the ability to capture and respond to quality feedback provided by users at runtime, we propose a reputation guided genetic scheduling algorithm for independent tasks. Current resource management services consider evolutionary strategies to improve the performance on resource allocation procedures or tasks scheduling algorithms, but they fail to consider the user as part of the scheduling process. Evolutionary computing offers different methods to find a near-optimal solution. In this paper we extended previous work with new optimisation heuristics for the problem of scheduling. We show how reputation is considered as an optimisation metric, and analyse how our metrics can be considered as upper bounds for others in the optimisation algorithm. By experimental comparison, we show our techniques can lead to optimised results.Peer Reviewe

Abstract: Efficient Scheduling of tasks in a cloud environment improves resources utilization thereby meeting users' requirements. One of the most important objectives of a scheduling algorithm in cloud environment is a balanced load distribution over various resources for enhancing the overall performance of the cloud. Such a scheduling is complex in nature due to the dynamicity of resources and incoming application specifications. In this paper, we employ PROMETHEE decision making model to design a scheduling algorithm, called PROMETHEE Load Balancing (PLB).This paper formulates the load balancing issue as a multi-criteria decision making problem and aims to achieve well-balanced load across virtual machines for maximizing the overall throughput of the cloud. Extensive simulation results in CloudSim environment show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing algorithms in terms of load balancing index (LBI), VM load variation, makespan, average execution time and waiting time
