A Review of the Family of Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithms: Recent Advances and Applications

The Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm (AFSA) is inspired by the ecological behaviors of fish schooling in nature, viz., the preying, swarming, following and random behaviors. Owing to a number of salient properties, which include flexibility, fast convergence, and insensitivity to the initial parameter settings, the family of AFSA has emerged as an effective Swarm Intelligence (SI) methodology that has been widely applied to solve real-world optimization problems. Since its introduction in 2002, many improved and hybrid AFSA models have been developed to tackle continuous, binary, and combinatorial optimization problems. This paper aims to present a concise review of the family of AFSA, encompassing the original ASFA and its improvements, continuous, binary, discrete, and hybrid models, as well as the associated applications. A comprehensive survey on the AFSA from its introduction to 2012 can be found in [1]. As such, we focus on a total of {\color{blue}123} articles published in high-quality journals since 2013. We also discuss possible AFSA enhancements and highlight future research directions for the family of AFSA-based models.Comment: 37 pages, 3 figure

The Internet of Things (IoT) has received a lot of interest from researchers recently. IoT is seen as a component of the Internet of Things, which will include billions of intelligent, talkative "things" in the coming decades. IoT is a diverse, multi-layer, wide-area network composed of a number of network links. The detection of services and on-demand supply are difficult in such networks, which are comprised of a variety of resource-limited devices. The growth of service computing-related fields will be aided by the development of new IoT services. Therefore, Cloud service composition provides significant services by integrating the single services. Because of the fast spread of cloud services and their different Quality of Service (QoS), identifying necessary tasks and putting together a service model that includes specific performance assurances has become a major technological problem that has caused widespread concern. Various strategies are used in the composition of services i.e., Clustering, Fuzzy, Deep Learning, Particle Swarm Optimization, Cuckoo Search Algorithm and so on. Researchers have made significant efforts in this field, and computational intelligence approaches are thought to be useful in tackling such challenges. Even though, no systematic research on this topic has been done with specific attention to computational intelligence. Therefore, this publication provides a thorough overview of QoS-aware web service composition, with QoS models and approaches to finding future aspects

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is the innovative technology that covers wide range of application that possesses high potential merits such as long-term operation, unmonitored network access, data transmission, and low implementation cost. In this context, Internet of Things (IoT) have evolved as an exciting paradigm with the rapid advancement of cellular mobile networks, near field communications and cloud computing. WSNs potentially interacts with the IoT devices based on the sensing features of web devices and communication technologies in sensors. At this juncture, IoT need to facilitate huge amount of data aggregation with security and disseminate it to the reliable path to make it reach the required base station. In this paper, Unity Attractors Inspired Programmable Cellular Automata and Barnacles Swarm Optimization-Based Energy Efficient Data Communication Mechanism (UAIPCA-BSO) is proposed for  Securing data and estimate the optimal path through which it can be forwarded in the IoT environment. In specific, Unity Attractors Inspired Programmable Cellular Automata is adopted for guaranteeing security during the data transmission process. It also aids in determining the optimal path of data transmission based on the merits of Barnacles Swarm Optimization Algorithm (BSOA), such that data is made to reach the base station at the required destination in time. The simulation results of UAIPCA-BSO confirmed minimized end-to-end delay , accuracy and time taken for malicious node detection, compared to the baseline approaches used for comparison

For customers to participate in key peak pricing, period-of-use fees, and individualized responsiveness to demand programmes taken from multi-dimensional data flows, energy use projection and analysis must be done well. However, it is a difficult study topic to ascertain the knowledge of use of electricity as recorded in the electricity records' Multi-Dimensional Data Streams (MDDS). Context-Aware Clustering (CAC) and the Optimized Whale Optimization Algorithm were suggested by researchers as a fresh power usage knowledge finding model from the multi-dimensional data streams (MDDS) to resolve issue (OWOA). The proposed CAC-OWOA framework first performs the data cleaning to handle the noisy and null elements. The predictive features are extracted from the novel context-aware group formation algorithm using the statistical context parameters from the pre-processed MDDS electricity logs. To perform the energy consumption prediction, researchers have proposed the novel Artificial Neural Network (ANN) predictive algorithm using the bio-inspired optimization algorithm called OWOA. The OWOA is the modified algorithm of the existing WOA to overcome the problems of slow convergence speed and easily falling into the local optimal solutions. The ANN training method is used in conjunction with the suggested bio-inspired OWOA algorithm to lower error rates and boost overall prediction accuracy. The efficiency of the CAC-OWOA framework is evaluated using the publicly available smart grid electricity consumption logs. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the CAC-OWOA framework in terms of forecasting accuracy, precision, recall, and duration when compared to underlying approaches

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that started and rapidly became the pandemic of the century, as the number of people infected with it globally exceeded 253.4 million. Since the beginning of the pandemic of COVID-19, over two years have passed. During this hard period, several defies have been coped by the scientific society to know this novel disease, evaluate it, and treat affected patients. All these efforts are done to push back the spread of the virus. This article provides a comprehensive review to learn about the COVID-19 virus and its entry mechanism, its main repercussions on many organs and tissues of the body, identify its symptoms in the short and long terms, in addition to recognize the role of diagnosis imaging in COVID-19. Principally, the quick evolution of active vaccines act an exceptional accomplishment where leaded to decrease rate of death worldwide. However, some hurdels still have to be overcome. Many proof referrers that infection with CoV-19 causes neurological dis function in a substantial ratio of influenced patients, where these symptoms appear severely during the infection and still less is known about the potential long term consequences for the brain, where Loss of smell is a neurological sign and rudimentary symptom of COVID-19. Hence, we review the causes of olfactory bulb dysfunction and Anosmia associated with COVID-19, the latest appropriate therapeutic strategies for the COVID-19 treatment (e.g., the ACE2 strategy and the Ang II receptor), and the tests through the follow-up phases. Additionally, we discuss the long-term complications of the virus and thus the possibility of improving therapeutic strategies. Moreover, the main steps of artificial intelligence that have been used to foretell and early diagnose COVID-19 are presented, where Artificial intelligence, especially machine learning is emerging as an effective approach for diagnostic image analysis with performance in the discriminate diagnosis of injuries of COVID-19 on multiple organs, comparable to that of human practitioners. The followed methodology to prepare the current survey is to search the related work concerning the mentioned topic from different journals, such as Springer, Wiley, and Elsevier. Additionally, different studies have been compared, the results are collected and then reported as shown. The articles are selected based on the year (i.e., the last three years). Also, different keywords were checked (e.g., COVID-19, COVID-19 Treatment, COVID-19 Symptoms, and COVID-19 and Anosmia)

This paper presents a compact CPW monopole antenna on rubber substrate for multiband applications. The multi band applications (2.45 and 3.65 GHz) is achieved on this antenna design with better antenna performances. Specially this antenna focused on ISM band application meanwhile some of slots (S1, S2, S3) have been used and attained another frequency band at 3.65 GHz for WiMAX application. The achievement of the antenna outcomes from this design that the bandwidth of 520 MHz for first band, the second band was 76 MHz for WiMAX application and the radiation efficiency attained around 90%. Moreover, the realized gain was at 4.27 dBi which overcome the most of existing design on that field. CST microwave studio has been used for antenna simulation

Predicting complex system behavior using hybrid modeling and computational intelligence

“Modeling and prediction of complex systems is a challenging problem due to the sub-system interactions and dependencies. This research examines combining various computational intelligence algorithms and modeling techniques to provide insights into these complex processes and allow for better decision making. This hybrid methodology provided additional capabilities to analyze and predict the overall system behavior where a single model cannot be used to understand the complex problem. The systems analyzed here are flooding events and fetal health care. The impact of floods on road infrastructure is investigated using graph theory, agent-based traffic simulation, and Long Short-Term Memory deep learning to predict water level rise from river gauge height. Combined with existing infrastructure models, these techniques provide a 15-minute interval for making closure decisions rather than the current 6-hour interval. The second system explored is fetal monitoring, which is essential to diagnose severe fetal conditions such as acidosis. Support Vector Machine and Random Forest were compared to identify the best model for classification of fetal state. This model provided a more accurate classification than existing research on the CTG. A deep learning forecasting model was developed to predict the future values for fetal heart rate and uterine contractions. The forecasting and classification algorithms are then integrated to evaluate the future condition of the fetus. The final model can predict the fetal state 4 minutes ahead to help the obstetricians to plan necessary interventions for preventing acidosis and asphyxiation. In both cases, time series predictions using hybrid modeling provided superior results to existing methods to predict complex behaviors”--Abstract, page iv
