    Motion-based technology to support motor skills screening in developing children: A scoping review

    Background. Acquiring motor skills is fundamental for children's development since it is linked to cognitive development. However, access to early detection of motor development delays is limited. Aim. This review explores the use and potential of motion-based technology (MBT) as a complement to support and increase access to motor screening in developing children. Methods. Six databases were searched following the PRISMA guidelines to search, select, and assess relevant works where MBT recognised the execution of children's motor skills. Results. 164 studies were analysed to understand the type of MBT used, the motor skills detected, the purpose of using MBT and the age group targeted. Conclusions. There is a gap in the literature aiming to integrate MBT in motor skills development screening and assessment processes. Depth sensors are the prevailing technology offering the largest detection range for children from age 2. Nonetheless, the motor skills detected by MBT represent about half of the motor skills usually observed to screen and assess motor development. Overall, research in this field is underexplored. The use of multimodal approaches, combining various motion-based sensors, may support professionals in the health domain and increase access to early detection programmes.Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga / CBUA

    The close relationship between motion (bodily movement) and emotion (feelings) is not an etymological coincidence. While moving ourselves, we move others; in observing others move – we are moved ourselves. The fundamentally interpersonal nature of mind and language has recently received due attention, but the key role of (e)motion in this context has remained something of a blind spot. The present book rectifies this gap by gathering contributions from leading philosophers, psychologists and linguists working in the area. Framed by an introducing prologue and a summarizing epilogue the volume elaborates a dynamical, active view of emotion, along with an affect-laden view of motion – and explores their significance for consciousness, intersubjectivity, and language. As such, it contributes to the emerging interdisciplinary field of mind science, transcending hitherto dominant computationalist and cognitivist approaches

Pettarani, Makassar, 90222 ABSTRAK Anak ADHD kesulitan memusatkan perhatian (selective attention) dan mempertahankan fokus (sustained attention), sehingga memiliki kesulitan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Training attention merupakan bentuk penanganan bagi anak ADHD dengan memberikan tugas terstruktur secara berulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas training attention untuk meningkatkan selective attention dan sustained attention pada anak ADHD. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 2 anak yang menyandang ADHD. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah single-case experimental design A-B-A-B. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis visual inspection. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa training attention efektif meningkatkan selective attention dan sustained attention anak ADHD. Penelitian ini berimplikasi bagi guru dan orangtua agar melakukan training attention untuk meningkatkan attention pada anak ADHD.
