    What attracts vehicle consumers’ buying:A Saaty scale-based VIKOR (SSC-VIKOR) approach from after-sales textual perspective?

    Purpose: The increasingly booming e-commerce development has stimulated vehicle consumers to express individual reviews through online forum. The purpose of this paper is to probe into the vehicle consumer consumption behavior and make recommendations for potential consumers from textual comments viewpoint. Design/methodology/approach: A big data analytic-based approach is designed to discover vehicle consumer consumption behavior from online perspective. To reduce subjectivity of expert-based approaches, a parallel Naïve Bayes approach is designed to analyze the sentiment analysis, and the Saaty scale-based (SSC) scoring rule is employed to obtain specific sentimental value of attribute class, contributing to the multi-grade sentiment classification. To achieve the intelligent recommendation for potential vehicle customers, a novel SSC-VIKOR approach is developed to prioritize vehicle brand candidates from a big data analytical viewpoint. Findings: The big data analytics argue that “cost-effectiveness” characteristic is the most important factor that vehicle consumers care, and the data mining results enable automakers to better understand consumer consumption behavior. Research limitations/implications: The case study illustrates the effectiveness of the integrated method, contributing to much more precise operations management on marketing strategy, quality improvement and intelligent recommendation. Originality/value: Researches of consumer consumption behavior are usually based on survey-based methods, and mostly previous studies about comments analysis focus on binary analysis. The hybrid SSC-VIKOR approach is developed to fill the gap from the big data perspective

    Sentiment analysis mainly supports sorting out the polarity and provides valuable information with the use of raw data in social media platforms. Many fields like health, business, and security require real-time data analysis for instant decision-making situations.Since Twitter is considered a popular social media platform to collect data easily, this paper is considering data analysis methods of Twitter data, real-time Twitter data analysis based on geo-location. Twitter data classification and analysis can be done with the use of diverse algorithms and deciding the most appropriate algorithm for data analysis, can be accomplished by implementing and testing these diverse algorithms.This paper is discussing the major description of sentiment analysis, data collection methods, data pre-processing, feature extraction, and sentiment analysis methods related to Twitter data. Real-time data analysis arises as a major method of analyzing the data available online and the real-time Twitter data analysis process is described throughout this paper. Several methods of classifying the polarized Twitter data are discussed within the paper while depicting a proposed method of Twitter data analyzing algorithm. Location-based Twitter data analysis is another crucial aspect of sentiment analyses, that enables data sorting according to geo-location, and this paper describes the way of analyzing Twitter data based on geo-location. Further, a comparison about several sentiment analysis algorithms used by previous researchers has been reported and finally, a conclusion has been provided.

    Sentiment Classification Using a Sense Enriched Lexicon-based Approach

    The prominent approach in sentiment polarity classification is the Lexicon-based approach which relies on a dictionary to assign a score to subjective words. Most of the existing work use score of the most dominant sense in this process instead of using the contextually appropriate sense. The use of Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) is less investigated in the sentiment classification tasks. This paper investigates the effect of integrating WSD into a Lexicon-based approach for Sentiment Polarity classification and compares it with the existing Lexicon-based approaches and the state-of-art supervised approaches. The lexicon used in this work is SentiWordNet v2.0. The proposed approach, called Sense Enriched Lexicon-based Approach (SELSA), uses a word sense disambiguation module to identify the correct sense of subjective words. Instead of using the score of the most frequent sense, it uses the score of the contextually appropriate sense only. For the purpose of comparison with the supervised approaches, the authors investigate NaĂŻve Bayes (NB) and Support Vector Machines (SVM) classifiers which tend to perform better in earlier research. The performance of these classifiers is evaluated using Word2vec, Hashing Vectorizer, and bi-gram feature. The best-performing classifier-feature combination is used for comparison. All the evaluations are done on the Movie Review dataset. SELSA achieves an accuracy of 96.25% which is significantly better than the accuracy obtained by SentiWordNet-based approach without WSD on the same dataset. The performance of the proposed algorithm is also compared with the best-performing supervised classifier investigated in this work and earlier reported works on the same dataset. The results reveal that the SVM classifier performs better than SentiWordNet approach without WSD. However, after incorporating WSD the performance of the proposed Lexicon-based approach is significantly improved and it surpasses the best-performing supervised classifier (SVM with bi-gram features)

    Rumor Stance Classification in Online Social Networks: A Survey on the State-of-the-Art, Prospects, and Future Challenges

    The emergence of the Internet as a ubiquitous technology has facilitated the rapid evolution of social media as the leading virtual platform for communication, content sharing, and information dissemination. In spite of revolutionizing the way news used to be delivered to people, this technology has also brought along with itself inevitable demerits. One such drawback is the spread of rumors facilitated by social media platforms which may provoke doubt and fear upon people. Therefore, the need to debunk rumors before their wide spread has become essential all the more. Over the years, many studies have been conducted to develop effective rumor verification systems. One aspect of such studies focuses on rumor stance classification, which concerns the task of utilizing users' viewpoints about a rumorous post to better predict the veracity of a rumor. Relying on users' stances in rumor verification task has gained great importance, for it has shown significant improvements in the model performances. In this paper, we conduct a comprehensive literature review on rumor stance classification in complex social networks. In particular, we present a thorough description of the approaches and mark the top performances. Moreover, we introduce multiple datasets available for this purpose and highlight their limitations.     Leveraging Tweets for Rapid Disaster Response Using BERT-BiLSTM-CNN Model

    Digital networking sites such as Twitter give a global platform for users to discuss and express their own experiences with others. People frequently use social media to share their daily experiences, local news, and activities with others. Many rescue services and agencies frequently monitor this sort of data to identify crises and limit the danger of loss of life. During a natural catastrophe, many tweets are made in reference to the tragedy, making it a hot topic on Twitter. Tweets containing natural disaster phrases but do not discuss the event itself are not informational and should be labeled as non-disaster tweets. Convolutional layers and domain-specific word embeddings are key to traditional tweet categorization models for crisis response. The objective of our research is to evaluate the efficacy of neural networks in categorizing tweets by utilizing both general-purpose and specific to a domain word embeddings to augment their performance. The prior techniques yield a singular embedding of a word extracted from a specific document..     Contextual lexicon-based sentiment analysis for social media.

    Sentiment analysis concerns the computational study of opinions expressed in text. Social media domains provide a wealth of opinionated data, thus, creating a greater need for sentiment analysis. Typically, sentiment lexicons that capture term-sentiment association knowledge are commonly used to develop sentiment analysis systems. However, the nature of social media content calls for analysis methods and knowledge sources that are better able to adapt to changing vocabulary. Invariably existing sentiment lexicon knowledge cannot usefully handle social media vocabulary which is typically informal and changeable yet rich in sentiment. This, in turn, has implications on the analyser's ability to effectively capture the context therein and to interpret the sentiment polarity from the lexicons. In this thesis we use SentiWordNet, a popular sentiment-rich lexicon with a substantial vocabulary coverage and explore how to adapt it for social media sentiment analysis. Firstly, the thesis identifies a set of strategies to incorporate the effect of modifiers on sentiment-bearing terms (local context). These modifiers include: contextual valence shifters, non-lexical sentiment modifiers typical in social media and discourse structures. Secondly, the thesis introduces an approach in which a domain-specific lexicon is generated using a distant supervision method and integrated with a general-purpose lexicon, using a weighted strategy, to form a hybrid (domain-adapted) lexicon. This has the dual purpose of enriching term coverage of the general purpose lexicon with non-standard but sentiment-rich terms as well as adjusting sentiment semantics of terms. Here, we identified two term-sentiment association metrics based on Term Frequency and Inverse Document Frequency that are able to outperform the state-of-the-art Point-wise Mutual Information on social media data. As distant supervision may not be readily applicable on some social media domains, we explore the cross-domain transferability of a hybrid lexicon. Thirdly, we introduce an approach for improving distant-supervised sentiment classification with knowledge from local context analysis, domain-adapted (hybrid) and emotion lexicons. Finally, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of all identified approaches using six sentiment-rich social media datasets
