The licensing of new recorded music business models in Australia: Current practice, the barriers to entry and an investigation in to the need for legislative reform

This thesis identifies Australia’s place in the worldwide recorded music industries and seeks the reasons behind the delays of launches in Australia of online music services. It concludes that while there is no clear cut answer to this question, there is considerable tension between the parties involved and a clear opportunity for the review of Australia’s copyright law.
