In the 3years that have passed since the last editorial note (Liberti et al. in Q J Oper 13:1–13, 2015), three volumes (each containing four issues) of the journal have been published: vol. 13 (2015), vol. 14 (2016), and vol. 15 (2017)

Report on Plagiarism Case

The Editorial Board of CIT. Journal of Computing and Information Technology was notified of a case of plagiarism at the expense of E. Ever, O. Gemikonakli, R. Chakka and T. V. Do. They reported CIT that their paper A Mathematical Model for Performability Evaluation of Heterogeneous Multiprocessor Systems with Reconfiguration and Rebooting Delays, which was published in 2005 in the Proceedings of the European Simulation and Modeling Conference (afterwards denoted as the Original Publication), had been copied to a large extent within the paperStochastic Model and Computational Measures of Batch Process Queuing System with Hetero Multiservers by C. S. Reddy, E. Mamatha and K. R. Prasad, published in CIT. Journal of Computing and Information Technology (Vol. 20, No. 1, March 2012) (afterwards denoted as the Infringing Publication).</p

Academic plagiarism : yielding to temptation

Scope: Everybody lies. Plagiarism is pervasive because people are used to lying to succeed. While bringing up someone else’s ideas may be an inadvertent case of cryptomnesia, or unintentional plagiarism, academic plagiarism is hardly ever that case. Building on the existing literature, the aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it contributes to the creation of a new framework for the definition of academic plagiarism within the larger scope of academic dishonesty, or academic misconduct; on the other hand, it identifies forms to recognize and discourage it. Aim: Our aim is to provide the basis for a subsequent empirical study on the phenomenon of plagiarism at LABS-ISCAL hoping to help diminish this practice that is deeply rooted in students in general

Introduction to the AIS Code of Research Conduct

In this paper, we discuss the AIS Code of Research Conduct approved by AIS Council at its December 2003 meeting. . We explain the purpose of the Code, its focus, who developed the code, and indicate the participation of many leading scholars in our community. We discuss how the Code may be used as an instrument to assist in maintaining the integrity of our journals and conference proceedings. We identify processes by which scholars who were victimized may seek redress. The adoption of this code of research conduct is as an important step in the maturing of our IS community
