Voice Activated Command and Control with Speech Recognition over WiFi
This paper presents work conducted to date on the development of a voice activated command and control framework specifically for the control of remote devices in a ubiquitous computing environment. The prototype device is a Java controlled Lego Mindstorm robot. The research considers three different scenario configurations. A recognition grammar for command and control of the robot has been created and implemented in Java, in part in the recognition engine and in part on the robot. The physical topology involves Java at each node endpoint, that is, at the handheld PC (iPaq), the PC workstation, the Linux server and onboard the robot (including its Java based Lejos OS). Network communications is primarily WLAN with an element of IR where the robot is concerned. The speech recognition software used includes Sphinx4, Microsoft SAPI and the Java Speech API. We compare these speech technologies and present their benefits in the context of this research. For each given scenario we present and discuss the implementation challenges encountered and their corresponding solutions, including future plans to create additional grammars to extend the framework’s range of devices
Assessment of Today’s Mobile Banking Applications from the View of Customer Requirements
Mobile banking is a subset of electronic banking which underlies not only the determinants of the banking business but also the special conditions of mobile commerce. This paper analyzes customer needs and expectations from the mobile applications’ view and from the banking view in order to derive a defined set of requirements. Based on these results, existing mobile banking applications are assessed. Their major shortcomings are explained, opportunities for their improvement are shown and the impact of upcoming new technology is discussed. The outcome of the paper is a defined set of customer requirements to mobile banking applications, the identification and assessment of four standard types of current mobile banking applications and an explanation of major failure reasons along with opportunities for their improvement.
MOBILE SIGN TO VOICE (MS2V)
This documentation is a feature of design system for a special people where they have
problem with hearing or speech problems and thus need to use sign language for
communication. It is the best way to whom that want to learn in the short period
because as we all realized, nowadays everybody have it own mobile phone with the
Bluetooth capability and this will make the process become easier in distributing the
product and introduce the product to the community. The product a Mobile Sign-to-
Voice (MS2V) designed to help normal people to communicate with deaf or mute
people in the short duration and more effectively. Within this report, it should able to
answer some ofthe questions the might in the mind about this system:-
• Is this system able to help people learn the sign language effectively?
• Is this system able to special people easier to socialize with other people?
• Is this system able to reduce the cost to learn sign language for everyone?
In this report and within this system shall answer the questions with the affirmation and
the stated of the objective of this system for example help the normal people to
communicate with special people using mobile and it also could be cost saving fir those
who wants to learn sign-language. The scope of this project is giving away the ideas in
utilizing the mobility product and enhancement to help special people that need the
technology to help them to socialize with other peoples and suggest the enhancement
for the nature use
Services on the Mobile Internet Service-Driven Technology Development
The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze the services on the mobile Internet and to identify when, where, and how these service offerings can be profitable. The thesis is a qualitative study based on in-depth interviews with key stakeholders in the service value chain and with relevant experts. Case methodology have been used to gather and structure the empirical material from three cases, i-mode in Japan, SMS in Europe, and BlackBerry in the USA to be able to generate new theory as well as expand on existing theory. The analysis, based on the three cases, generates and validates a model for successful service strategy on the mobile Internet. The service strategy is called service-driven technology development. Service-driven technology development explains the success of the three cases and provides a framework to successfully develop, implement, and maintain profitable services on the mobile Internet
