Looking beyond the Thermal Horizon: Hidden Symmetries in Chiral Models
In thermal states of chiral theories, as recently investigated by H.-J.
Borchers and J. Yngvason, there exists a rich group of hidden symmetries. Here
we show that this leads to a radical converse of of the Hawking-Unruh
observation in the following sense. The algebraic commutant of the algebra
associated with a (heat bath) thermal chiral system can be used to reprocess
the thermal system into a ground state system on a larger algebra with a larger
localization space-time. This happens in such a way that the original system
appears as a kind of generalized Unruh restriction of the ground state sytem
and the thermal commutant as being transmutated into newly created ``virgin
space-time region'' behind a horizon. The related concepts of a ``chiral
conformal core'' and the possibility of a ``blow-up'' of the latter suggest
interesting ideas on localization of degrees of freedom with possible
repercussion on how to define quantum entropy of localized matter content in
Local Quantum Physics.Comment: 17 pages, tcilatex, still more typos removed and one reference

Hazy Differential Inclusions
This paper is devoted to differential inclusions the right-hand sides of which are hazy subsets, which are fuzzy subsets whose membership functions are cost functions taking their values in [0,infinity] instead of [0,1]. By doing so, the concept of uncertainty involved in differential inclusions becomes more precise, by allowing the velocities not only to depend in a multivalued way upon the state of the system, but also in a fuzzy way. The viability theorems are adapted to hazy differential inclusions and to sets of state constraints which are either usual or hazy. The existence of a largest closed hazy viability domain contained in a given closed hazy subset is also provided
Multifunctions determined by integrable functions
Integral properties of multifunctions determined by vector valued functions are presented. Such multifunctions quite often serve as examples and counterexamples. In particular it can be observed that the properties of being integrable in the sense of Bochner, McShane or Birkhoff can be transferred to the generated multifunction while Henstock integrability does not guarantee i
Tracking uncertainty in a spatially explicit susceptible-infected epidemic model
In this paper we conceive an interval-valued continuous cellular automaton for describing the spatio-temporal dynamics of an epidemic, in which the magnitude of the initial outbreak and/or the epidemic properties are only imprecisely known. In contrast to well-established approaches that rely on probability distributions for keeping track of the uncertainty in spatio-temporal models, we resort to an interval representation of uncertainty. Such an approach lowers the amount of computing power that is needed to run model simulations, and reduces the need for data that are indispensable for constructing the probability distributions upon which other paradigms are based
