Collaborative method to maintain business process models updated
Business process models are often forgotten after their creation and its representation is not usually updated. This appears to be negative as processes evolve over time. This paper discusses the issue of business process models maintenance through the definition of a collaborative method that creates interaction contexts enabling business actors to discuss about business processes, sharing business knowledge. The collaboration method extends the discussion about existing process representations to all stakeholders promoting their update. This collaborative method contributes to improve business process models, allowing updates based in change proposals and discussions, using a groupware tool that was developed. Four case studies were developed in real organizational environment. We came to the conclusion that the defined method and the developed tool can help organizations to maintain a business process model updated based on the inputs and consequent discussions taken by the organizational actors who participate in the processes.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
A Process Modelling Success Model: Insights from a Case Study
Contemporary concepts such as Business Pro cess Re-engineering and Process Innovation emphasize the importance of process-oriented management concepts as a businesses paradigm. Large scaled multimillion-dollar implementations of Enterpri se Systems explicitly and implicitly state the importance of process modeling and its contribution to the success of these project. While there has been much research and publications on alterna tive process modeling techniques and tools, little attention has focused on post-hoc evaluation of actual process modeling activities or on deriving comprehensive guidelines on ‘how-to’ conduct process modeling effectively. This study aims at addressing this gap. A comprehensive a priori pro cess modeling success model has been derived and this paper reports on the results obtained from a detailed case study at a leading Australian logistics service provider, which was conducted with the aim of testing and re-specifying the model
Designing Enterprise Resources Planning Application for Integrating Main Activities in a Simulator Model of SCM Network Distribution
Collaborative supply chain is a specific topic in supply chain management and studied by
industrial engineering students in supply chain management course. Unfortunately, conventional
learning media cannot explain the phenomenon of collaborative supply chain to the students. This study
aimed to design a dynamic learning media so that inter-company collaboration and information sharing
on the activities of Supply Chain entities can be explained effectively to the students. The problem was
solved using 3 (three) steps. First, the distribution network was described using mock up. It consists of
miniature trucks, miniature network and miniature of the manufacturer-distributor-retailer embedded
with tag and reader of RFID. Second, the Enterprise Resources Planning application was developed for
supporting business activities. Third, we developed the integrator consists of monitor’s user interface
and practice modules. The result of the research - an SCM-Simulator – will be able to improve learning
skills of industrial engineering graduates, especially abilities to identify, formulate, and solve the
activities of tactical plan & operational routines of Supply Chain entities. However, distribution module
designed is for limited scale laboratory study of simple objects.

Knowledge Management System for Cluster Development in Small and Medium Enterprises
Many countries such as Canada, Japan, Korea and France gains their competitive advantage through the utilization of clusters development. A cluster contains many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) operating in the same or similar industry strongly connected with each other to produce good and services.,In developing country , especially, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) take very important role to their economic. Most governments, as facilitator, support cluster through initiate help and encourage SMEs' linkage to reach the concept of industry cluster. Many literature reviewed claimed that the most difficult processes in creating a cluster is the development and sustain the collaboration to connect these SMEs together. After some investigation, the problem of creating SMEs connection is information sharing at micro-economic level.. Knowledge sharing is one of the most important key success factors of cluster management to gain collaboration among SMEs since there are abundant of explicit and tacit knowledge within each SMEs in a cluster. Naturally, most firms do not want to share their business information and knowledge. In reality, however they needs these information to successfully manage their business cluster. It is crucial and necessary we find out what kind of information or knowledge they want to know and shareable among them in order to manage cluster successfully. Many operation management techniques already existed in many firms. One of the ways to help knowledge sharing operate successfully using information technology as a tool is directed to Knowledge Management System (KMS). This methods can help facilitate the communication and information flow and needs to be investigated further to help maintain the cluster collaboration and knowledge sharing.. ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks: a literature review
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation is a complex and vibrant process, one that involves a combination of technological and organizational interactions. Often an ERP implementation project is the single largest IT project that an organization has ever launched and requires a mutual fit of system and organization. Also the concept of an ERP implementation supporting business processes across many different departments is not a generic, rigid and uniform concept and depends on variety of factors. As a result, the issues addressing the ERP implementation process have been one of the major concerns in industry. Therefore ERP implementation receives attention from practitioners and scholars and both, business as well as academic literature is abundant and not always very conclusive or coherent. However, research on ERP systems so far has been mainly focused on diffusion, use and impact issues. Less attention has been given to the methods used during the configuration and the implementation of ERP systems, even though they are commonly used in practice, they still remain largely unexplored and undocumented in Information Systems research. So, the academic relevance of this research is the contribution to the existing body of scientific knowledge. An annotated brief literature review is done in order to evaluate the current state of the existing academic literature. The purpose is to present a systematic overview of relevant ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks as a desire for achieving a better taxonomy of ERP implementation methodologies. This paper is useful to researchers who are interested in ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Results will serve as an input for a classification of the existing ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. A Model-Driven Approach for Business Process Management
The Business Process Management is a common mechanism recommended by a high number of standards for the management of companies and organizations. In software companies this practice is every day more accepted and companies have to assume it, if they want to be competitive.
