Encryption AXI Transaction Core for Enhanced FPGA Security
The current hot topic in cyber-security is not constrained to software layers. As attacks on electronic circuits have become more usual and dangerous, hardening digital System-on-Chips has become crucial. This article presents a novel electronic core to encrypt and decrypt data between two digital modules through an Advanced eXtensible Interface (AXI) connection. The core is compatible with AXI and is based on a Trivium stream cipher. Its implementation has been tested on a Zynq platform. The core prevents unauthorized data extraction by encrypting data on the fly. In addition, it takes up a small area—242 LUTs—and, as the core’s AXI to AXI path is fully combinational, it does not interfere with the system’s overall performance, with a maximum AXI clock frequency of 175 MHz.This work has been supported within the fund for research groups of the Basque university system IT1440-22 by the Department of Education and within the PILAR ZE-2020/00022 and COMMUTE ZE-2021/00931 projects by the Hazitek program, both of the Basque Government, the latter also by the Ministerio de Ciencia e InnovaciĂłn of Spain through the Centro para el Desarrollo TecnolĂłgico Industrial (CDTI) within the project IDI-20201264 and IDI-20220543 and through the Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional 2014–2020 (FEDER funds)
pendekatan Model Pengukuran Rasch.

EXT-TAURUM P2T: an Extended Secure CAN-FD Architecture for Road Vehicles
The automobile industry is no longer relying on pure mechanical systems; instead, it benefits from advanced Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in order to provide new and complex functionalities in the effort to move toward fully connected cars. However, connected cars provide a dangerous playground for hackers. Vehicles are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks as they come equipped with more connected features and control systems. This situation may expose strategic assets in the automotive value chain. In this scenario, the Controller Area Network (CAN) is the most widely used communication protocol in the automotive domain. However, this protocol lacks encryption and authentication. Consequently, any malicious/hijacked node can cause catastrophic accidents and financial loss. Starting from the analysis of the vulnerability connected to the CAN communication protocol in the automotive domain, this paper proposes EXT-TAURUM P2T a new low-cost secure CAN-FD architecture for the automotive domain implementing secure communication among ECUs, a novel key provisioning strategy, intelligent throughput management, and hardware signature mechanisms. The proposed architecture has been implemented, resorting to a commercial Multi-Protocol Vehicle Interface module, and the obtained results experimentally demonstrate the approach’s feasibility
Mobile Provisioning Infrastructure for Trusted Computing
The purpose of this Major Qualifying Project was to address security concerns within the Android mobile platform with the help of our project sponsor, General Dynamics C4 Systems. The use of Trusted Platform Modules (TPM) was investigated to address security issues on mobile devices. In this project, a security architecture was developed in order to create a foundation for the use of TPM in Android devices
DeSyRe: on-Demand System Reliability
The DeSyRe project builds on-demand adaptive and reliable Systems-on-Chips (SoCs). As fabrication technology scales down, chips are becoming less reliable, thereby incurring increased power and performance costs for fault tolerance. To make matters worse, power density is becoming a significant limiting factor in SoC design, in general. In the face of such changes in the technological landscape, current solutions for fault tolerance are expected to introduce excessive overheads in future systems. Moreover, attempting to design and manufacture a totally defect and fault-free system, would impact heavily, even prohibitively, the design, manufacturing, and testing costs, as well as the system performance and power consumption. In this context, DeSyRe delivers a new generation of systems that are reliable by design at well-balanced power, performance, and design costs. In our attempt to reduce the overheads of fault-tolerance, only a small fraction of the chip is built to be fault-free. This fault-free part is then employed to manage the remaining fault-prone resources of the SoC. The DeSyRe framework is applied to two medical systems with high safety requirements (measured using the IEC 61508 functional safety standard) and tight power and performance constraints
Holistic security 4.0
The future computer climate will represent an ever more aligned world of integrating
technologies, affecting consumer, business and industry sectors. The vision was first outlined
in the Industry 4.0 conception. The elements which comprise smart systems or embedded
devices have been investigated to determine the technological climate.
The emerging technologies revolve around core concepts, and specifically in this project, the
uses of Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Internet of Everything
(IoE). The application of bare metal and logical technology qualities are put under the
microscope to provide an effective blue print of the technological field.
The systems and governance surrounding smart systems are also examined. Such an approach
helps to explain the beneficial or negative elements of smart devices. Consequently, this
ensures a comprehensive review of standards, laws, policy and guidance to enable security and
cybersecurity of the 4.0 systems
