Electronic Simulation and Hardware Implementation of Two Coupled Periodically Forced Duffing and Van der Pol oscillators and its Application to Secure Communication

    Get PDF
Confirmation of the existence of complex behavior and synchronization of non-identical chaotic systems as reported in literature attracts much interest in secure communication, but practical implementation is still challenging. In this work, the dynamics of coupled non-identical circuits comprising periodically forced Duffing and Van der Pol oscillators is investigated via electronic simulation using Multism software and hardware implementation on electronic circuits board. After complete synchronization is achieved between the Duffing (Transmitter) and Van der Pol (receiver) circuits through the variation of the coupling resistor of the controller, its application to secure communication is therefore demonstrated experimentally and via multism. The results from the electronic simulation and hardware implementation on bread board using analog components are in good agreement with the numerical results in literature

A Chaotic System with an Infinite Number of Equilibrium Points: Dynamics, Horseshoe, and Synchronization

Discovering systems with hidden attractors is a challenging topic which has received considerable interest of the scientific community recently. This work introduces a new chaotic system having hidden chaotic attractors with an infinite number of equilibrium points. We have studied dynamical properties of such special system via equilibrium analysis, bifurcation diagram, and maximal Lyapunov exponents. In order to confirm the system’s chaotic behavior, the findings of topological horseshoes for the system are presented. In addition, the possibility of synchronization of two new chaotic systems with infinite equilibria is investigated by using adaptive control

Research on digital image watermark encryption based on hyperchaos

The digital watermarking technique embeds meaningful information into one or more watermark images hidden in one image, in which it is known as a secret carrier. It is difficult for a hacker to extract or remove any hidden watermark from an image, and especially to crack so called digital watermark. The combination of digital watermarking technique and traditional image encryption technique is able to greatly improve anti-hacking capability, which suggests it is a good method for keeping the integrity of the original image. The research works contained in this thesis include: (1)A literature review the hyperchaotic watermarking technique is relatively more advantageous, and becomes the main subject in this programme. (2)The theoretical foundation of watermarking technologies, including the human visual system (HVS), the colour space transform, discrete wavelet transform (DWT), the main watermark embedding algorithms, and the mainstream methods for improving watermark robustness and for evaluating watermark embedding performance. (3) The devised hyperchaotic scrambling technique it has been applied to colour image watermark that helps to improve the image encryption and anti-cracking capabilities. The experiments in this research prove the robustness and some other advantages of the invented technique. This thesis focuses on combining the chaotic scrambling and wavelet watermark embedding to achieve a hyperchaotic digital watermark to encrypt digital products, with the human visual system (HVS) and other factors taken into account. This research is of significant importance and has industrial application value

Variations on the Theme of Conning in Mathematical Economics

The mathematization of economics is almost exclusively in terms of the mathematics of real analysis which, in turn, is founded on set theory (and the axiom of choice) and orthodox mathematical logic. In this paper I try to point out that this kind of mathematization is replete with economic infelicities. The attempt to extract these infelicities is in terms of three main examples: dynamics, policy and rational expectations and learning. The focus is on the role and reliance on standard xed point theorems in orthodox mathematical economics
