Learning Management System (LMS) is a learning process that utilizes information technology in the form of computers equipped with telecommunications facilities. The purpose of developing a Learning Management System is to facilitate and assist students in learning the subject of program evaluation. This research method is R & D (Research and Development), which is research to produce and test the effectiveness of these products. There are four stages in making e-learning, (1) Analysis of the system includes hardware, software, learning material, and student development, (2) Design includes instructional design analysis, teaching materials, and media (software) used, (3) Implementation, that is product and development of the resulting Learning Management System, (4) Evaluation, namely the Assessment stage by experts to test the feasibility of the system.“The sample of this study was 67 students from two classes who were enrolled in this study. The results showed that the average difference in pre-test and post-test scores was -8.83582. Whereas the test-t test Ho: pre-test = post-test gives the value t = -3.222  with degrees of freedom was 66. While the value p for two-sided tests 0.000 was smaller than α = 0.05. This data proves that the statistical hypothesis of Ho: pre-test = post-test is rejected, meaning that the average pre-test and post-test scores differ significantly. The findings of this research can be used to recommend implementing effective learning and teaching process using hybrid learning models, therefore improving students’ learning outcomes in higher education

This case study is located in the Department for Education Innovation (EI), a teaching and learning support unit at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The initial problem was the need to apply project management and quality management principles to the services offered by the department to faculty members. The authors describe the implementation of a formal, online, process-based Quality Management System (QMS) designed to self evaluate, document, and improve the Instructional Design (ID) process that guides the development of educational technology solutions in EI. The project was completed in 2005 and was included in a CEN (European Committee for Standardization) Good Practice Guide for outstanding implementations of quality approaches in e-learning. The QMS provides a mechanism to support a consistent project management approach, and the case illustrates successful integration between three cycles: Project Management (PM), Quality Management (QM), and the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) instructional design process

    Get PDF
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate how a substantial organization gradually builds a management accounting system from scratch, changing its accounting routines by learning processes. The paper uses the experiential learning theory and the concept of learning style to investigate the learning process during management accounting change. The study aims to expand the domain of management accounting change theory to emphasize the learning-related aspects that can constitute it. Design/methodology/approach The paper provides an interpretation of management accounting change based on the model of problem management proposed by Kolb (1983) and the theory of experiential learning (Kolb, 1976, 1984). The study is based on a 14-year longitudinal case study (1994-2007). The case examined can be considered a theory illustration case. Data were obtained from a broad variety of sources including interviews, document analysis and adopting an interventionist approach during the redesign of the costing system. Findings The paper contributes to two important aspects of management accounting change. First, it becomes apparent that the costing information change was not a discrete event but a process of experience and learning conducted through several iterations of trial-and-error loops that extended over the years. Second, the findings reveal that the learning process can alter management accounting system design in a radical or incremental way according to the learning style of the people involved in the process of change. Research limitations/implications Because of the adopted research approach, results could be extended only to other organizations presenting similar characteristics. Several further areas of research are suggested by the findings of this paper. In particular, it would be of interest to investigate the links between learning styles and communication and its effect on management accounting change. Practical implications The paper includes implications for the management of learning during management accounting change, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this process. Originality/value This paper is one response to the call for an interdisciplinary research approach to the management accounting change phenomena using a "method theory" taken from the discipline of management to provide an explanation of the change in management accounting. In respect of the previous literature, it provides two main contributions, namely, the proposal of a model useful both to interpret and manage learning processes; the effect of learning style on management accounting routines change

This paper is intended to explore the advances developed in a line of research in assessment of ICT in Music Education in High Schools. We present an educational experience in a Secondary school from Spain. We have designed a sociocultural pedagogical model for Music Education with ICT, which is based on the use of a learning management system. We have tested the design of computer platform used for musical learning through expert judge, evaluating the process of using the platform with qualitative and quantitative techniques, on the other hand we have tested the evaluation of impacts of the educational model in students, through the analysis of a system of categories on the audio and video recordings of musical performances by the students, a focus group formed by the participating students and three scales about work, learning and attitude. Finally, we have studied the attitude improvement with learning model. The high level of control in the evaluation of the teaching and learning process allows us to discuss the creation of a knowledge management system, through which musical learning is generated. Students learn to learn by themselves and through the construction of knowledge through collaborative learning process, giving support roles, self-learning, developing autonomy and self-regulation. The results have been very positive and suggest the transfer of Music Education experience to other schools
