Framework definition for the design of a mobile manufacturing system

    Get PDF
The concept of mobile manufacturing systems is presented in the literature as an enabler for improving company competitiveness by cost reduction, delay respect and quality control. In comparison with classical sedentary systems, added characteristics should be taken into consideration, such as the system life phases, the dependency to the production location, human qualification as well as means supply constraints. Such considerations might be addressed as soon as possible in the design process. This paper aims at presenting a contribution for the design of mobile manufacturing systems based on three analysis: (1) an analysis of the mobile manufacturing system features (2) an identification of the attributes enabling the system mobility assessment, and (3) the proposal of a framework for mobile production system design considering new context-specific decision criteria.SOLR

The Impact of Screen Time and Mobile Dependency on Cognition, Socialization and Behaviour Among Early Childhood Students During the Covid Pandemic- Perception of the Parents

Digital technology systems are adopted rapidly throughout the globe for the virtual learning process especially with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Digital screen-based gadgets are integrated to provide a seamless interactive medium of learning even before the initiation of formal education. Studies on the technology use of younger children are critical as uncontrolled gadget use affects their developmental stages yet these studies are still in the infancy stage. This study analyses the psychoeducational impact of extended use of digital gadgets and mobile dependency on early childhood manifested through their cognition, socialization and behaviour. This descriptive study is based on the random responses of 511 parents about their young children of 3-6 years distributed at five civil districts of Kerala State. From the analysis, it is found that the extended use of digital gadgets influenced young children’s mobile dependency, socialization process, cognition and behaviour patterns. The young children exhibited alienation tendencies and behavioural deviations which are correlated to their screen time. Both male and female reported similar results.  Significant differences were observed with respect to the age of the children and their parental characteristics. Their mobile dependency mediated their extended digital Screen Time to the Behaviour. Significant relation was predicted by extended Screen Time on Behaviour of the students with a partial sequential path through mobile Dependency, Cognition and Socialization. The study shed light on the urgency of parental care and implementation of a balanced gadget usage system to reduce the detrimental impacts of psychoeducational factors

Mobile User Connectivity in Relay-Assisted Visible Light Communications

    Get PDF
In this paper, we investigate relay-assisted visible light communications (VLC) where a mobile user acts as a relay and forwards data from a transmitter to the end mobile user. We analyse the utilization of the amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) relaying schemes. The focus of the paper is on analysis of the behavior of the mobile user acting as a relay while considering a realistic locations of the receivers and transmitters on a standard mobile phone, more specifically with two photodetectors on both sides of a mobile phone and a transmitting LED array located upright. We also investigate dependency of the bit error rate (BER) performance on the azimuth and elevation angles of the mobile relay device within a typical office environment. We provide a new analytical description of BER for AF and DF-based relays in VLC. In addition we compare AF and DF-based systems and show that DF offers a marginal improvement in the coverage area with a BER < 10–3 and a data rate of 100 Mb/s. Numerical results also illustrate that relay-based systems offer a significant improvement in terms of the coverage compared to direct non-line of sight VLC links

Handling Data-Based Concurrency in Context-Aware Service Protocols

    Get PDF
Dependency analysis is a technique to identify and determine data dependencies between service protocols. Protocols evolving concurrently in the service composition need to impose an order in their execution if there exist data dependencies. In this work, we describe a model to formalise context-aware service protocols. We also present a composition language to handle dynamically the concurrent execution of protocols. This language addresses data dependency issues among several protocols concurrently executed on the same user device, using mechanisms based on data semantic matching. Our approach aims at assisting the user in establishing priorities between these dependencies, avoiding the occurrence of deadlock situations. Nevertheless, this process is error-prone, since it requires human intervention. Therefore, we also propose verification techniques to automatically detect possible inconsistencies specified by the user while building the data dependency set. Our approach is supported by a prototype tool we have implemented.Comment: In Proceedings FOCLASA 2010, arXiv:1007.499

Mobile phones are most widely used as mini laptops as well as personal digital devices one could have. The dependency on mobiles for every single person on every single aspect has increased day by day. Depending on the operating systems, storage capacity, user interface developed by various manufacturers, there are numerous mobile phones designed with diverse computing capabilities. Among all the distinct kinds of smart mobile devices that are available in the mobile market, iPhone became one of the most popularly used smart mobiles across the world due to its complex logical computing capabilities, striking touch interface, optimum screen resolutions. People started relying on iPhone by utilizing its functionalities including storing sensitive information, capturing pictures, making online payments by providing credentials. These factors made iPhone to be one of the best resources for the forensic department to retrieve and analyze sensitive information and provide supporting evidence. Thus, the rise of iPhone forensics took place where the data is retrieved and analyzed with the help of various iPhone forensic tool kits. The agenda of this paper is to give overview of iPhone forensics and mainly focuses on analysis done, and challenges faced while retrieving the sensitive information on iPhone by means of distinct forensic tools when compare to Android mobile device forensic
