The well-known types of incomplete information include parameter uncertainties and norm-bounded nonlinearities. Recently, in response to the development of network technologies, the phenomenon of randomly occurring incomplete information has become more and more prevalent. Such a phenomenon typically appears in a networked environment. Examples include, but are not limited to, randomly occurring uncertainties, randomly occurring nonlinearities, randomly occurring saturation, randomly missing measurements and randomly occurring quantization. Randomly occurring incomplete information, if not properly handled, would seriously deteriorate the performance of a control system. In this paper, we aim to survey some recent advances on the analysis and synthesis problems for nonlinear stochastic systems with randomly occurring incomplete information. The developments of the filtering, control and fault detection problems are systematically reviewed. Latest results on analysis and synthesis of nonlinear stochastic systems are discussed in great detail. In addition, various distributed filtering technologies over sensor networks are highlighted. Finally, some concluding remarks are given and some possible future research directions are pointed out. © 2012 Hongli Dong et al.This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants 61273156, 61134009, 61273201, 61021002, and 61004067, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the UK under Grant GR/S27658/01, the Royal Society of the UK, the National Science Foundation of the USA under Grant No. HRD-1137732, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of German
Global Stabilization of Triangular Systems with Time-Delayed Dynamic Input Perturbations
A control design approach is developed for a general class of uncertain
strict-feedback-like nonlinear systems with dynamic uncertain input
nonlinearities with time delays. The system structure considered in this paper
includes a nominal uncertain strict-feedback-like subsystem, the input signal
to which is generated by an uncertain nonlinear input unmodeled dynamics that
is driven by the entire system state (including unmeasured state variables) and
is also allowed to depend on time delayed versions of the system state variable
and control input signals. The system also includes additive uncertain
nonlinear functions, coupled nonlinear appended dynamics, and uncertain dynamic
input nonlinearities with time-varying uncertain time delays. The proposed
control design approach provides a globally stabilizing delay-independent
robust adaptive output-feedback dynamic controller based on a dual dynamic
high-gain scaling based structure.Comment: 2017 IEEE International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC
Recent advances on recursive filtering and sliding mode design for networked nonlinear stochastic systems: A survey
Copyright © 2013 Jun Hu et al. This is an open access article distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Some recent advances on the recursive filtering and sliding mode design problems for nonlinear stochastic systems with network-induced phenomena are surveyed. The network-induced phenomena under consideration mainly include missing measurements, fading measurements, signal quantization, probabilistic sensor delays, sensor saturations, randomly occurring nonlinearities, and randomly occurring uncertainties. With respect to these network-induced phenomena, the developments on filtering and sliding mode design problems are systematically reviewed. In particular, concerning the network-induced phenomena, some recent results on the recursive filtering for time-varying nonlinear stochastic systems and sliding mode design for time-invariant nonlinear stochastic systems are given, respectively. Finally, conclusions are proposed and some potential future research works are pointed out. This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant nos. 61134009, 61329301, 61333012, 61374127 and 11301118, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the UK under Grant no. H ? filtering for stochastic singular fuzzy systems with time-varying delay
This paper considers the H? filtering problem
for stochastic singular fuzzy systems with timevarying
delay. We assume that the state and measurement
are corrupted by stochastic uncertain exogenous
disturbance and that the system dynamic is modeled
by Ito-type stochastic differential equations. Based on
an auxiliary vector and an integral inequality, a set of
delay-dependent sufficient conditions is established,
which ensures that the filtering error system is e?t -
weighted integral input-to-state stable in mean (iISSiM).
A fuzzy filter is designed such that the filtering
error system is impulse-free, e?t -weighted iISSiM and
the H? attenuation level from disturbance to estimation
error is belowa prescribed scalar.Aset of sufficient
conditions for the solvability of the H? filtering problem
is obtained in terms of a new type of Lyapunov
function and a set of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation
examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness
of the proposed filtering approach developed in
this paper
Observer-based networked control for continuous-time systems with random sensor delays
This is the post print version of the article. The official published version can be obtained from the link - Copyright 2009 Elsevier LtdThis paper is concerned with the networked control system design for continuous-time systems with random measurement, where the measurement channel is assumed to subject to random sensor delay. A design scheme for the observer-based output feedback controller is proposed to render the closed-loop networked system exponentially mean-square stable with H∞ performance requirement. The technique employed is based on appropriate delay systems approach combined with a matrix variable decoupling technique. The design method is fulfilled through solving linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is used to verify the effectiveness and the merits of the present results. This paper was not presented at any IFAC meeting. Fuzzy-model-based robust fault detection with stochastic mixed time-delays and successive packet dropouts
This is the Post-Print version of the Article. The official published version can be accessed from the link below - Copyright @ 2012 IEEEThis paper is concerned with the network-based robust fault detection problem for a class of uncertain discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems with stochastic mixed time delays and successive packet dropouts. The mixed time delays comprise both the multiple discrete time delays and the infinite distributed delays. A sequence of stochastic variables is introduced to govern the random occurrences of the discrete time delays, distributed time delays, and successive packet dropouts, where all the stochastic variables are mutually independent but obey the Bernoulli distribution. The main purpose of this paper is to design a fuzzy fault detection filter such that the overall fault detection dynamics is exponentially stable in the mean square and, at the same time, the error between the residual signal and the fault signal is made as small as possible. Sufficient conditions are first established via intensive stochastic analysis for the existence of the desired fuzzy fault detection filters, and then, the corresponding solvability conditions for the desired filter gains are established. In addition, the optimal performance index for the addressed robust fuzzy fault detection problem is obtained by solving an auxiliary convex optimization problem. An illustrative example is provided to show the usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed design method. This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant 61028008, 60825303, 61004067,
