This paper focuses on the growth, development, and future of various forms of fractional-order neural networks. Multiple advances in structure, learning algorithms, and methods have been critically investigated and summarized. This also includes the recent trends in the dynamics of various fractional-order neural networks. The multiple forms of fractional-order neural networks considered in this study are Hopfield, cellular, memristive, complex, and quaternion-valued based networks. Further, the application of fractional-order neural networks in various computational fields such as system identification, control, optimization, and stability have been critically analyzed and discussed
Finite-time stabilization for fractional-order inertial neural networks with time varying delays
This paper deals with the finite-time stabilization of fractional-order inertial neural network with varying time-delays (FOINNs). Firstly, by correctly selected variable substitution, the system is transformed into a first-order fractional differential equation. Secondly, by building Lyapunov functionalities and using analytical techniques, as well as new control algorithms (which include the delay-dependent and delay-free controller), novel and effective criteria are established to attain the finite-time stabilization of the addressed system. Finally, two examples are used to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the obtained results
Stochastic memristive quaternion-valued neural networks with time delays: An analysis on mean square exponential input-to-state stability
In this paper, we study the mean-square exponential input-to-state stability (exp-ISS) problem for a new class of neural network (NN) models, i.e., continuous-time stochastic memristive quaternion-valued neural networks (SMQVNNs) with time delays. Firstly, in order to overcome the difficulties posed by non-commutative quaternion multiplication, we decompose the original SMQVNNs into four real-valued models. Secondly, by constructing suitable Lyapunov functional and applying Itoˆ’s formula, Dynkin’s formula as well as inequity techniques, we prove that the considered system model is mean-square exp-ISS. In comparison with the conventional research on stability, we derive a new mean-square exp-ISS criterion for SMQVNNs. The results obtained in this paper are the general case of previously known results in complex and real fields. Finally, a numerical example has been provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results
Asymptotic Stability and Asymptotic Synchronization of Memristive Regulatory-Type Networks
Memristive regulatory-type networks are recently emerging as a potential successor to traditional complementary resistive switch models. Qualitative analysis is useful in designing and synthesizing memristive regulatory-type networks. In this paper, we propose several succinct criteria to ensure global asymptotic stability and global asymptotic synchronization for a general class of memristive regulatory-type networks. The experimental simulations also show the performance of theoretical results
Global output feedback stabilization for nonlinear fractional order time delay systems
summary:This paper investigates the problem of global stabilization by state and output-feedback for a family of for nonlinear Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional order time delay systems written in triangular form satisfying linear growth conditions. By constructing a appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop systems is achieved. Moreover, sufficient conditions for the stability, for the particular class of fractional order time-delay system are obtained. Finally, simulation results dealing with typical bioreactor example, are given to illustrate that the proposed design procedures are very efficient and simple
ψ-type stability of reaction–diffusion neural networks with time-varying discrete delays and bounded distributed delays
In this paper, the ψ-type stability and robust ψ-type stability for reaction–diffusion neural networks (RDNNs) with Dirichlet boundary conditions, time-varying discrete delays and bounded distributed delays are investigated, respectively. Firstly, we analyze the ψ-type stability and robust ψ-type stability of RDNNs with time-varying discrete delays by means of ψ-type functions combined with some inequality techniques, and put forward several ψ-type stability criteria for the considered networks. Additionally, the models of RDNNs with bounded distributed delays are established and some sufficient conditions to guarantee the ψ-type stability and robust ψ-type stability are given. Lastly, two examples are provided to confirm the effectiveness of the derived results
New criteria on global Mittag-Leffler synchronization for Caputo-type delayed Cohen-Grossberg Inertial Neural Networks
Our focus of this paper is on global Mittag-Leffler synchronization (GMLS) of the Caputo-type Inertial Cohen-Grossberg Neural Networks (ICGNNs) with discrete and distributed delays. This model takes into account the inertial term as well as the two types of delays, which greatly reduces the conservatism with respect to the model. A change of variables transforms the order inertial frame into order ordinary frame in order to deal with the effect of the inertial term. In the following steps, two novel types of delay controllers are designed for the purpose of reaching the GMLS. In conjunction with the novel controllers, utilizing differential mean-value theorem and inequality techniques, several criteria are derived to determine the GMLS of ICGNNs within the framework of Caputo-type derivative and calculus properties. At length, the feasibility of the results is further demonstrated by two simulation examples
Global stability of Clifford-valued Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy neural networks with time-varying delays and impulses
summary:In this study, we consider the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model to examine the global asymptotic stability of Clifford-valued neural networks with time-varying delays and impulses. In order to achieve the global asymptotic stability criteria, we design a general network model that includes quaternion-, complex-, and real-valued networks as special cases. First, we decompose the -dimensional Clifford-valued neural network into -dimensional real-valued counterparts in order to solve the noncommutativity of Clifford numbers multiplication. Then, we prove the new global asymptotic stability criteria by constructing an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKFs) and employing Jensen's integral inequality together with the reciprocal convex combination method. All the results are proven using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the achieved results
