    A Framework to Evaluate Software Developer’s Productivity The VALORTIA Project

    Currently, there is a lack in companies developing software in relation to assessing their staff’s productivity before executing software projects, with the aim of improving effectiveness and efficiency. QuEF (Quality Evaluation Framework) is a framework that allows defining quality management tasks based on a model. The main purpose of this framework is twofold: improve an entity’s continuous quality, and given a context, decide between a set of entity’s instances on the most appropriate one. Thus, the aim of this paper is to make this framework available to evaluate productivity of professionals along software development and select the most appropriate experts to implement the suggested project. For this goal, Valortia platform, capable of carrying out this task by following the QuEF framework guidelines, is designed. Valortia is a platform to certify users' knowledge on a specific area and centralize all certification management in its model by means of providing protocols and methods for a suitable management, improving efficiency and effectiveness, reducing cost and ensuring continuous quality.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación TIN2013-46928-C3-3-

    Outdoor Wellbeing and Quality of Life: A Scientific Literature Review on Thermal Comfort

    While indoor comfort represents a widely investigated research topic with relation to sustainable development and energy-demand reduction in the built environment, outdoor comfort remains an open field of study, especially with reference to the impacts of climate change and the quality of life for inhabitants, particularly in urban contexts. Despite the relevant eorts spent in the last few decades to advance the understanding of phenomena and the knowledge in this specific field, which obtained much evidence for the topic\u2019s relevance, a comprehensive picture of the studies, as well as a classification of the interconnected subjects and outcomes, is still lacking. This paper reports the outcomes of a literature review aimed at screening the available resources dealing with outdoor thermal comfort, in order to provide a state-of-the-art review that identifies the main topics focused by the researchers, as well as the barriers in defining suitable indexes for assessing thermal comfort in outdoor environments. Although several accurate models and software are available to quantify outdoor human comfort, the evocated state of mind of the final user still remains at the core of this uncertain process

    Requirements traceability in model-driven development: Applying model and transformation conformance

    The variety of design artifacts (models) produced in a model-driven design process results in an intricate relationship between requirements and the various models. This paper proposes a methodological framework that simplifies management of this relationship, which helps in assessing the quality of models, realizations and transformation specifications. Our framework is a basis for understanding requirements traceability in model-driven development, as well as for the design of tools that support requirements traceability in model-driven development processes. We propose a notion of conformance between application models which reduces the effort needed for assessment activities. We discuss how this notion of conformance can be integrated with model transformations

    Using contextual goal models for constructing situational methods

    Situation and intention are two fundamental notions in situational method engineering (SME). They are used to assess the context of an ISD project and to specify method requirements in this context. They also allow defining the goals of the method chunks and the conditions under which they can be applied. In this way, the selection and assembly of method chunks for a particular ISD project is driven by matching situational method requirements to method chunks’ goals and context descriptions. In this paper we propose the use of contextual goal models for supporting all SME steps.     Assessing and refining mappings to RDF to improve dataset quality

    RDF dataset quality assessment is currently performed primarily after data is published. However, there is neither a systematic way to incorporate its results into the dataset nor the assessment into the publishing workflow. Adjustments are manually -but rarely- applied. Nevertheless, the root of the violations which often derive from the mappings that specify how the RDF dataset will be generated, is not identified. We suggest an incremental, iterative and uniform validation workflow for RDF datasets stemming originally from (semi-) structured data (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON). In this work, we focus on assessing and improving their mappings. We incorporate (i) a test-driven approach for assessing the mappings instead of the RDF dataset itself, as mappings reflect how the dataset will be formed when generated; and (ii) perform semi-automatic mapping refinements based on the results of the quality assessment. The proposed workflow is applied to diverse cases, e.g., large, crowdsourced datasets such as DBpedia, or newly generated, such as iLastic. Our evaluation indicates the efficiency of our workflow, as it significantly improves the overall quality of an RDF dataset in the observed cases
