Big Data has significant impact in developing functional smart cities and supporting modern societies. In this paper, we investigate the importance of Big Data in modern life and economy, and discuss challenges arising from Big Data utilization. Different computational intelligence techniques have been considered as tools for Big Data analytics. We also explore the powerful combination of Big Data and Computational Intelligence (CI) and identify a number of areas, where novel applications in real world smart city problems can be developed by utilizing these powerful tools and techniques. We present a case study for intelligent transportation in the context of a smart city, and a novel data modelling methodology based on a biologically inspired universal generative modelling approach called Hierarchical Spatial-Temporal State Machine (HSTSM). We further discuss various implications of policy, protection, valuation and commercialization related to Big Data, its applications and deployment

Video Based Deep CNN Model for Depression Detection

Our face reflects our feelings towards anything and everything we see, smell, teste or feel through any of our senses. Hence multiple attempts have been made since last few decades towards understanding the facial expressions. Emotion detection has numerous applications since Safe Driving, Health Monitoring Systems, Marketing and Advertising etc. We propose an Automatic Depression Detection (ADD) system based on Facial Expression Recognition (FER). We propose a model to optimize the FER system for understanding seven basic emotions (joy, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, disgust and neutral) and use it for detection of Depression Level in the subject. The proposed model will detect if a person is in depression and if so, up to what extent. Our model will be based on a Deep Convolution Neural Network (DCNN)

Speech Emotion Recognition using Supervised Deep Recurrent System for Mental Health Monitoring

Understanding human behavior and monitoring mental health are essential to maintaining the community and society's safety. As there has been an increase in mental health problems during the COVID-19 pandemic due to uncontrolled mental health, early detection of mental issues is crucial. Nowadays, the usage of Intelligent Virtual Personal Assistants (IVA) has increased worldwide. Individuals use their voices to control these devices to fulfill requests and acquire different services. This paper proposes a novel deep learning model based on the gated recurrent neural network and convolution neural network to understand human emotion from speech to improve their IVA services and monitor their mental health.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 3 tables, accepted in the IEEE WFIoT202

Facial emotional processing is one of the most important activities in effective calculations, engagement with people and computers, machine vision, video game testing, and consumer research. Facial expressions are a form of nonverbal communication, as they reveal a person's inner feelings and emotions. Extensive attention to Facial Expression Recognition (FER) has recently been received as facial expressions are considered. As the fastest communication medium of any kind of information. Facial expression recognition gives a better understanding of a person's thoughts or views and analyzes them with the currently trending deep learning methods. Accuracy rate sharply compared to traditional state-of-the-art systems. This article provides a brief overview of the different FER fields of application and publicly accessible databases used in FER and studies the latest and current reviews in FER using Convolution Neural Network (CNN) algorithms. Finally, it is observed that everyone reached good results, especially in terms of accuracy, with different rates, and using different data sets, which impacts the results
