    Get PDF
The recently proposed picture fuzzy set (PFS) is a powerful tool for handling fuzziness and uncertainty. PFS is character-ized by a positive membership degree, a neutral membership degree, and a negative membership degree, making it more suitable and useful than the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) when dealing with multi-attribute decision making (MADM). The aim of this paper is to develop some aggregation operators for fusing picture fuzzy information. Considering the Muirhead mean (MM) is an aggregation technology which can consider the interrelationship among all aggregated ar-guments, we extend MM to picture fuzzy context and propose a family of picture fuzzy Muirhead mean operators. In addition, we investigate some properties and special cases of the proposed operators. Further, we develop a novel meth-od to MADM in which the attribute values take the form of picture fuzzy numbers (PFNs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed method

Power of Continuous Triangular Norms with Application to Intuitionistic Fuzzy Information Aggregation

The paper aims to investigate the power operation of continuous triangular norms (t-norms) and develop some intuitionistic fuzzy information aggregation methods. It is proved that a continuous t-norm is power stable if and only if every point is a power stable point, and if and only if it is the minimum t-norm, or it is strict, or it is an ordinal sum of strict t-norms. Moreover, the representation theorem of continuous t-norms is used to obtain the computational formula for the power of continuous t-norms. Based on the power operation of t-norms, four fundamental operations induced by a continuous t-norm for the intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) sets are introduced. Furthermore, various aggregation operators, namely the IF weighted average (IFWA), IF weighted geometric (IFWG), and IF mean weighted average and geometric (IFMWAG) operators, are defined, and their properties are analyzed. Finally, a new decision-making algorithm is designed based on the IFMWAG operator, which can remove the hindrance of indiscernibility on the boundaries of some classical aggregation operators. The practical applicability, comparative analysis, and advantages of the study with other decision-making methods are furnished to ascertain the efficacy of the designed method

Some q-rung orthopair fuzzy Muirhead means with their application to multi-attribute group decision making

Recently proposed q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (q-ROFS) is a powerful and effective tool to describe fuzziness, uncertainty and vagueness. The prominent feature of q-ROFS is that the sum and square sum of membership and non-membership degrees are allowed to be greater than one with the sum of qth power of the membership degree and qth power of the non-membership degree is less than or equal to one. This characteristic makes q-ROFS more powerful and useful than intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) and Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS). The aim of this paper is to develop some aggregation operators for fusing q-rung orthopair fuzzy information. As the Muirhead mean (MM) is considered as a useful aggregation technology which can capture interrelationships among all aggregated arguments, we extend the MM to q-rung orthopair fuzzy environment and propose a family of q-rung orthopair fuzzy Muirhead mean operators. Moreover, we investigate some desirable properties and special cases of the proposed operators. Further, we apply the proposed operators to solve multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems. Finally, a numerical instance as well as some comparative analysis are provided to demonstrate the validity and superiorities of the proposed method

Fuzzy decision making in complex frameworks with generalized aggregation operators

    Get PDF
[EN] This article presents a new aggregation system applied to fuzzy decision making. The fuzzy generalized unified aggregation operator (FGUAO) is a system that integrates many operators by adding a new aggregation process that considers the relevance that each operator has in the analysis. It also deals with an uncertain environment where the information is studied with fuzzy numbers. A wide range of particular cases and properties are studied. This approach is further extended by using quasi-arithmetic means. The paper ends studying the applicability in decision making problems regarding the European Union decisions. For doing so, the work uses a multi-person aggregation process obtaining the multi-person - FGUAO operator. An example concerning the fixation of the interest rate by the European Central Bank is presented. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. Algorithms for possibility linguistic single-valued neutrosophic decision-making based on COPRAS and aggregation operators with new information measures

    Get PDF
The objective of this work is to introduce the concept of the possibility linguistic single-valued neutrosophic set (PLSVNS) for better dealing with the imprecise and uncertain information during the decision-making process. The prominent characteristics of this set are that it considers two distinctive sorts of information such as the membership, indeterminacy, non-membership degrees, and their corresponding possibility degree. In it, first, we stated some operational laws, score and accuracy functions, comparison laws between the pairs of the set. Then, we define weighted averaging and geometric aggregation operators (AOs) to collaborate the PLSVNSs into a single one. Further, we present two algorithms based on a complex proportional assessment (COPRAS) method and AOs based method under PLSVNS information to solve the decision-making problems. In these methods, the information related to weights of decision makers and criteria is determined with the help of a distance and entropy measures. Finally, a practical real-life example is provided to expose the materialness and the viability of our work

Fuzzy Techniques for Decision Making 2018

Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches. Their ranges vary from fundamental or technical to applied approaches

New logarithmic operational laws and their applications to multiattribute decision making for single-valued neutrosophic numbers

    Get PDF
Neutrosophic set, initiated by Smarandache, is a novel tool to deal with vagueness considering the truth, indeterminacy and falsity memberships satisfying the condition that their sum is less than 3. This set can be used to characterize the information more accurately than the intuitionistic fuzzy set. Under this set, the objective of this manuscript is to present some new operational laws called as logarithm operational laws with real number base k for the single-valued neutrosophic (SVN) numbers. Various desirable properties of the proposed operational laws are contemplated. Further, based on these laws, different weighted averaging and geometric aggregation operators are developed

In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making problems with Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic information. Then, we utilize power average and power geometric operations to develop some Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power aggregation operators: Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power weighted average (P2TLPWA) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power weighted geometric (P2TLPWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power ordered weighted average (P2TLPOWA) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power ordered weighted geometric (P2TLPOWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power hybrid average (P2TLPHA) operator and Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power hybrid geometric (P2TLPHG) operator. The prominent characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then, we have utilized these operators to develop some approaches to solve the Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic multiple attribute decision making problems. Finally, a practical example for enterprise resource planning (ERP) system selection is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness

A Decision Method for Online Purchases Considering Dynamic Information Preference Based on Sentiment Orientation Classification and Discrete DIFWA Operators

© 2013 IEEE. Online reviews are crucial for evaluating product features and supporting consumers' purchase decisions. However, as a result of online buying behaviors, consumer habits, and discrete dynamic distribution characteristics of online reviews, and consumers typically randomly choose a limited number of reviews from discrete time frames among all reviews and give more weight to recent review information and less weight to earlier information to support their online purchase decisions; moreover, existing studies have ignored the discrete random dynamic characteristics and dynamic information preferences of consumers. To address this issue, this paper proposes a method based on sentiment orientation classification and discrete DIFWA (DDIFWA) operators for online purchase decisions considering dynamic information preferences. In this method, we transformed review texts from original discrete time slices to discrete random features, extracted product features based on the constructed feature and sentiment dictionaries, and matched pairs of features and sentiment phrases in the dictionaries. We subsequently employed three types of semantic orientation by defining semantic rules to extract the product features of each review. Of note, the semantic orientations were transformed from discrete time to semantic intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and semantic intuitionistic fuzzy information matrixes. Furthermore, we proposed two DDIFWA operators to aggregate the dynamic semantic intuitionistic fuzzy information. Specifically, we obtained the rankings of alternative products and their features to support consumers' purchase decisions using the intuitionistic fuzzy scoring function and the 'vertical projection distance' method. Finally, comparisons and experiments are provided to demonstrate the plausibility of our methods
