A comparison of the effect of PVT data application methods on predicted depletion drive reservoir performance

It is generally agreed that the evolution of gas from oil within a reservoir is most closely approximated by the differential liberation process, while gas liberation in the flow string, surface separator, and stock tank is most nearly represented by flash liberation. To conform with this assumed physical behavior, appropriate application of both flash and differential liberation data in the computation of reservoir performance by material balance methods is indicated. In this work, simple depletion-drive oil and gas recoveries were calculated (1) using differential liberation data only, and (2) using differential liberation data adjusted to incorporate the results of flash separation tests. A comparison of the results obtained indicates that while the differences in depletion-drive recoveries so predicted may sometimes be unimportant from a practical standpoint, they can be appreciable where considerable differences exist between the flash and differential formation-volume-factors. Utilization of differential liberation data which has been converted from a “residual oil to a stock tank oil basis throughout the material-balance equations appears to be a simple, appropriate method of incorporating the effects of both liberation processes. This conversion may be accomplished by multiplying differential solubility and shrinkage values by the ratio of flash to differential bubble-point formation-volume-factor --Abstract, page 1

In this paper, the modeling of the liberation of scheelite is presented. A pattern of concentration experiments was performed to investigate the scheelite liberation and distribution density calculation procedure. In this work, one sample from a Mittersill tungsten ore was studied. This work describes a method for determining the downstream milling energy requirements for rod mill products based on a Bond mill test performance. The grade distribution of particles at a given size fraction was calculated using a predictive liberation model. The concentration behavior of these particles in size fractions was evaluated using batch concentrate tests. The recovery of particles in size/grade classes, image analysis using mineral liberation analysis (MLA), and function calculations were implemented for the modeling of the liberation. By describing the size, grade, and recovery data of particles in size/grade classes, a technique for the measurement of distribution functions was developed that relates beta distribution, a model for the function based on the incomplete beta function, and a solution to produce liberation modeling. It was shown that the predicted results agreed well with the observed results. With a procedure for measuring the liberation, it was possible to carry out the first experimental measurement of the beta distribution. This liberation/concentrate model has wide potential applications for metallurgy and plant design, where the liberation modeling is to be determined with the distribution density solution to the predictive mineral liberation function equation, which includes the liberation of ore samples and their liberation characteristics

The purpose of this research was to understand the corelation between selfcontrols and the anxiety of the prisoner to face the liberation. The hypothesis of this research showed that there was negative corelation between self-control and the anxiety of the prisoner to face the liberation. The higher self-control the lower anxiety to face the liberation, so on the contrary, the lower self-control the higher the anxiety to face the liberation. The subjects of this research were men and women prisoners from correctional facility, who would be immediately liberated 5 to 6 months approaching the liberation. The scale which was used in this research was self-control scale, which was arranged by the researcher based on Averiil theory (1973) and anxiety based on Rosenhan and Seligman Theory (1989). The research's method to analyze the data was SPSS 17.0. This method was used to verify the negative corelation between self-control and anxiety of prisoners to face the liberation. Product moment correlation of Pearson showed the value of r = - 0,451 and p = 0.007 (p>0, 01), which meant there was a significant negative correlation between self-control and anxiety of prisoners to face liberation

Advanced oak reproduction that has developed in a stand that has been partially cut several times can vary substantially in age or size. Where advanced reproduction varies substantially in age or size in stands that have reached rotation age, complex questions are raised regarding the probable responses of various species, size, and age mixtures of advanced reproduction to liberation, cleaning, coppicing, or other treatments. This thesis reports the results of a 19-year study of the survival and growth of advanced hardwood reproduction that was released by coppicing, liberation, and liberation-with-cleaning treatments applied in conjunction with a commercial timber harvest in southwestern Tennessee. This reproduction had been established over a period of at least 27 years in a stand that had been partially harvested at least three times during the reproduction period. Principal findings were as follows. 1. After 19 growing seasons, the coppicing plots contained 333 oaks with d.b.h. greater than or equal to 2.0 inches per acre (principally Quercus alba L. and Quercus falcata Michx.). The liberation plots contained 600 such oaks per acre after 19 growing seasons, and the liberation-with-cleaning plots contained 700. 2. After 19 growing seasons the liberation-with-cleaning plots contained larger oaks than the liberation or coppicing plots contained. 3. Seven-year data did not indicate that the liberation-with-cleaning plots would contain the largest oaks and the largest numbers of oaks per acre after 19 growing seasons. 4. After 19 growing seasons, the coppicing plots contained no hickories (principally Carya tomentosa Poir. Nutt.) with d.b.h. greater than or equal to 2.0 inches. In the liberation and liberation-with-cleaning plots, stocking of hickories declined substantially over 19 growing seasons

Direct three-dimensional liberation analysis by cone beam x-ray microtomography

Book ChapterLiberation of valuable minerals during size reduction is an important aspect of mineral processing technology. In practice, most quantitative information on liberation is based on the application of stereological theorems for the analysis of image data from two-dimensional polished sections. On this basis an estimate of the volumetric grade distribution is made. Recently, a new method based on cone-beam xray microtomography has been used for direct determination of the three-dimensional liberation spectrum of multiphase particles 100 microns in size or less. Preliminary results for a packed bed of particles indicate that high spatial resolution (approximately 15 microns) and the direct processing of raw volumetric data are two important benefits offered by this new method. Three dimensional liberation analysis by microtomography provides an excellent opportunity to overcome many of the limitations of currently used polished section techniques. For example, detailed textural information is provided. Of course microtomography provides an independent method to verify current procedures used for analysis and transformation of polished section data into an estimate of the volumetric grade distribution. More important, however, is the possibility that this method could be developed as a routine procedure for liberation analysis in the 21st century

This study examines the ideological orientation of various African-American groups on the question of black liberation. It is an effort to provide an Afrocentric frame of reference for black liberation, from which black social workers can develop appropriate problem solving strategies and techniques to address the African-American condition. The empirical referents for this study is directed by a comparative analysis of data collected from organizational documents of the groups examined and other related secondary data. The major findings suggest that there exist a positive relationship between Black Nationalist oriented groups and the theoretical framework for black liberation. The study concludes that this relationship is significant to social work practice in the African-American community

Liberation-focused Community Outreach: A Qualitative Exploration of Peer Group Supervision during Disaster Response

While it is clear that community outreach and disaster response must include cultural and social justice competence, there is a dearth of knowledge regarding the process by which this can occur. Guided by liberation psychology, this qualitative study examined the peer group supervision process of psychologists and counselors providing outreach to Haitian communities in Florida after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The findings suggest that peer supervision generated a cyclical process in which the practitioners focused on both content and process themes that were salient to the community outreach. During supervision, practitioners used content information on the community\u27s culture, strengths, and sociopolitical issues to conceptualize the community\u27s experiences and needs. This content informed the outreach process, including the practitioners’ roles and the ways in which they connected and developed respectful relationships with the community. Ongoing peer supervision appeared to facilitate a liberation-focused community outreach and increase consciousness among the practitioners
