The picture of Cracow's musical life as presented in "Dziennik Polski" in the years 1956-1980

Opracowanie stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie czy i jak redakcja codziennej gazety "Dziennik Polski" sprzyjała krakowskiemu środowisku muzycznemu. W literaturze przedmiotu trudno znaleźć publikację, w której przedmiotem badań byłoby życie muzyczne Krakowa w okresie gomułkowskim i gierkowskim ukazane na łamach gazety. Jednakże życie muzyczne Krakowa analizowało wielu badaczy. Zakres i zasięg badań był różny. W pracy zbiorowej Kraków muzyczny 1918-1939 pod redakcją Mieczysława Drobnera i Tadeusza Przybylskiego dotyczącej okresu międzywojennego, przedstawiono sylwetki wybranych artystów muzyków, omówiono działalność różnego typu instytucji muzycznych i organizacji społecznych, scharakteryzowano czasopisma i gazety poruszające tematykę muzyczną. Spośród opracowań późniejszych na szczególną uwagę zasługują dwie publikacje Anny Woźniakowskiej: 60 lat Filharmonii im. Karola Szymanowskiego w Krakowie: 1945-2005 (2004) i Czy Kraków zasługuje na operę?: 45-lecie Opery i Operetki w Krakowie (2000), stanowiące kompendium najważniejszych informacji na temat działalności dwóch dużych państwowych instytucji muzycznych w Krakowie

The aspectual nature of the construction of amProgressive in German and its significance in some selected contextes in the contrastive study with Polish

The aim of this article is to show the wide aspectual context of the german am-Progressive (sein+am+Infinitiv). The assumption that all languages (in this case particularly German and Polish) are able to express universal meaning-structure of aspectuality allows a contrastive view of German and Polish. The Progressivity will be shown here as a domain of imperfectivity in a universal, prelexical structure of aspectuality. The Section of the Collections’ Preservation

Dynamika systematycznego wzrostu, nowoczesna przestrzeń intelektu, labirynt znaków, magia zaangażowanych w swoją pracę ludzi z pasją – to tylko kilka haseł, które przychodzą na myśl, kiedy chcemy przywołać nazwę Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego i 70 lat jej historii. Łódź przed dwoma wiekami powstawała z tradycji niejednorodnych, i podobnie powstawał – jako mozaika różnych treści intelektualnych – Uniwersytet Łódzki.The article presents The Section of the Collections’ Preservation that was founded in the new building of The Library of Łódź University in 2006. However, the first attempts of founding such a workshop were taken up in the 60s. of the previous century. Unfortunately, they appeared ineffective. Now, the Section consists of five rooms. There are two main directions of work undertaken here. The first of them are preventive measures introducing and applying protective acid free and high quality materials preventing any possible damage. The other one are necessary repairs of library holdings (old prints, manuscripts, posters, newspapers and magazines, public relations documents)

A survey on sexuality of female university students in Wrocław

Introduction. The survey evaluated an overall sexuality and a general knowledge concerning sexuality and contraception in female students of two selected universities in Wrocław. Material and methods. 250 students of Wrocław Medical University (AM) and 200 students of Wrocław University of Economics (AE) took part in the survey. The questionnaires were distributed among female students living in dormitories. Results and conclusions. It was shown that a significant part of examined women has poor knowledge of sexuality and is often convinced that the myths and stereotypes concerning sex are true. No statistically significant differences between the levels of knowledge in both groups were found. It seems that a constant education and promotion of reliable knowledge of sexuality is necessary also during studies

Między uczniem a metodą, czyli o edukacyjnych konsekwencjach kulturowej aktywności gimnazjalistów

The author presents conclusions from the study on “The Polish literature and language instruction in secondary school in view of the new curriculum”, in which participated 6000 pupils, their parents, teachers, librarians, and school directors. Correlations are presented between the pupils’ achievements and the schools’ educational requirements, library resources, or family status. Attention is focused on the students’ cultural preferences, the school selection of culture texts, and the ways of teaching their reception. The author comments also on the appearing contradiction as the majority of interviewed teenagers evaluate positively their Polish teachers, both personally and factually. Yet almost 60 per cent of them demonstrate reluctance to talk about literature. The results of statistical analyses are compared with the solutions indicated in the works on the Polish literature and language instruction.Autorka przedstawia wnioski z projektu badawczego „Dydaktyka literatury i języka polskiego w gimnazjum w świetle nowej podstawy programowej” przeprowadzonego wśród ponad 6000 uczniów, ich rodziców, nauczycieli, bibliotekarzy oraz dyrektorów szkół. Referuje zależności między osiągnięciami uczniów a realizowanymi w szkołach wymaganiami edukacyjnymi, wyposażeniem bibliotek czy statusem rodziny. Skupia uwagę na preferencjach kulturowych gimnazjalistów, szkolnym doborze tekstów kultury i stosowanych przez nauczycieli mechanizmach nauki ich odbioru. Komentuje sprzeczność wynikającą z faktu, że większość badanych nastolatków dobrze ocenia swoich polonistów zarówno na płaszczyźnie interpersonalnej, jak i merytorycznej, a mimo to blisko 60% spośród nich demonstruje niechęć do rozmowy o literaturze. Rezultaty analiz statystycznych zestawia z sugestiami rozwiązań zawartych w pracach z zakresu dydaktyki polonistycznej
