Extending Software Quality Models - A Sample In The Semantic Technologies Domain

In order to correctly evaluate semantic technologies, which have become widely adopted in recent years, we need to put evaluations under the scope of a unique software quality model. This paper presents a quality model for semantic technologies. First, some well-known software quality models are described, together with methods for extending them. Afterwards, a new method for extending quality models is proposed and it is then used to define a quality model for semantic technologies by extending the ISO 9126 quality model. Finally, the proposed model is validated by analyzing existing semantic technology evaluations

SemQuaRE - An extension of the SQuaRE quality model for the evaluation of semantic technologies

    Get PDF
To correctly evaluate semantic technologies and to obtain results that can be easily integrated, we need to put evaluations under the scope of a unique software quality model. This paper presents SemQuaRE, a quality model for semantic technologies. SemQuaRE is based on the SQuaRE standard and describes a set of quality characteristics specific to semantic technologies and the quality measures that can be used for their measurement. It also provides detailed formulas for the calculation of such measures. The paper shows that SemQuaRE is complete with respect to current evaluation trends and that it has been successfully applied in practice

The papers discuss and evaluate the quality of student academic portal using ISO / IEC 9126 quality modeling approach. Quality factors are tested and analyzed are characteristics of Usability, Reliability, Efficiency, and Portability, this evaluation is very important, considering the number of users of the portal system so much and growing. one of the efforts to improve and optimize the performance of the academic information system management team. Evaluate the quality of the user perception approach 10 principles of usability heuristics and internal site performance testing or web server. The results of analysis and testing of 4 quality characteristics have issued several recommendations for improvement and optimization of the performance of student academic portals

A Systematic Mapping Review of Software Quality Measurement: Research Trends, Model, and Method

Software quality is a key for the success in the business of information and technology. Hence, before be marketed, it needs the software quality measurement to fulfill the user requirements.  Some methods of the software quality analysis have been tested in a different perspective, and we have presented the software method in the point of view of users and experts. This study aims to map the method of software quality measurement in any models of quality. Using the method of Systematic Mapping Study, we did a searching and filtering of papers using the inclusion and exclusion criteria. 42 relevant papers have been obtained then. The result of the mapping showed that though the model of ISO SQuaRE has been widely used since the last five years and experienced the dynamics, the researchers in Indonesia still used ISO9126 until the end of 2016.The most commonly used method of the software quality measurement Method is the empirical method, and some researchers have done an AHP and Fuzzy approach in measuring the software quality

Software quality evaluation: a bibliometric analysis and future perspectives

The theme of “Software Quality Evaluation”, and its importance, concerns the standardization of the development processes, in order to guarantee a higher quality of the systems. In this scenario, this theme has gained importance in academic research, due to the emphasis that the theme has increasingly presented to organizations, since they understand that the main objective is to guarantee a final product that satisfies the expectations of the client. In order to verify the scientific scenario in recent years, this work aims to carry out a review of the literature on “Software Quality Evaluation”, based on a bibliometric analysis and review. For this, the method of bibliographic revision with four different phases proposed by Marasco (2008) was used. From the data extracted from the Scopus database, the results of the systematic review and bibliometric analysis were analyzed from the information on publications, citations and approaches of the papers that deal with this subject. As results, the present article showed the academic and practical importance of the studies on “Software Quality Evaluation”. In addition, it is possible to identify gaps in the scientific literature that can be filled by future work in the area, based on the studies developed by specialists

ISO9126 BASED SOFTWARE QUALITY EVALUATION USING CHOQUET INTEGRAL

    Get PDF
Evaluating software quality is an important and essential issue in the development process because it helps to deliver a competitive software product. A decision of selecting the best software based on quality attributes is a type of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) processes where interactions among criteria should be considered. This paper presents and develops quantitative evaluations by considering interactions among criteria in the MCDM problems. The aggregator methods such as Arithmetic Mean (AM) and Weighted Arithmetic Mean (WAM) are introduced, described and compared to Choquet Integral (CI) approach which is a type of fuzzy measure used as a new method for MCDM. The comparisons are shown by evaluating and ranking software alternatives based on six main quality attributes as identified by the ISO 9126-1 standard. The evaluation experiments depend on real data collected from case studies

Software quality model for the evaluation of semantic technologies

In order to obtain high-quality software products, the specification and evaluation of quality during the software development process is of crucial importance. One important component in software evaluation is the software quality model, since it provides the basis for software evaluation and gives a better insight of the software characteristics that influence its quality. Furthermore, quality models also ensure a consistent terminology for software product quality and provide guidance for its measurement. In recent years, semantic technologies have started to gain importance and, as the field becomes more and more popular, the number of these technologies is increasing exponentially. Just as with any other software product, the quality of semantic technologies is an important concern, and multiple evaluations of semantic technologies have been performed. However, the problem is that there is no consistent terminology for describing the quality of semantic technologies and it is difficult to compare them because of differences in the meaning of the evaluation characteristics used. Also, existing software quality models do not define those quality characteristics that are specific to semantic technologies. This thesis presents a quality model for semantic technologies which aims to provide a common ground in the field of semantic technology evaluation. It also presents a new method for extending software quality models, based on a bottom-up approach, that is used to define the quality model for semantic technologies. Finally, this thesis describes the use of the semantic technology quality model in a web application that visualizes semantic technology evaluation results and provides semantic technology recommendations

In recent years, it has been given much importance to the use of models and quality standards on software development processes. Because these are those that facilitate continuous improvement and enable companies to provide higher quality products to its customers by increasing their competitive level. Today, software development is based on agile processes that allow production characterized by its changing requirements and the need for continuous customer deliveries environments. Thus it is imperative to provide companies with tools for assessing the quality of these cycles agile processes. QuAM is presented in this article, an approach to design a model of quality, integrated and flexible, that assesses the quality development cycles based on the principles and practices of the agile approach.XIII Workshop IngenierĂa de Software (WIS).Red de Universidades con Carreras en InformĂĄtica (RedUNCI
