Tool Support for Decision and Usage Knowledge in Continuous Software Engineering

    Get PDF
Continuous software engineering copes with frequent changes and quickly evolving development projects while maintaining a high software quality. Developers require knowledge about former and ongoing decisions as well as about the users' needs to evolve software. Thus, decision and usage knowledge are two important knowledge types in continuous software engineering. Issue tracking and version control systems are widely used in continuous software engineering but lack a structured approach to integrate decision and usage knowledge. In this paper, we present ideas and requirements for a tool support to manage decision and usage knowledge in continuous software engineering. As a first step, we introduce the JIRA DecDoc plug-in for documenting decision knowledge

A Feasibility Study of Automated Support for Similarity Analysis of Natural Language Requirements in Market-Driven Development

In market-driven software development there is a strong need for support to handle congestion in the requirements engineering process, which may occur as the demand for short time-to-market is combined with a rapid arrival of new requirements from many different sources. Automated analysis of the continuous flow of incoming requirements provides an opportunity to increase the efficiency of the requirements engineering process. This paper presents empirical evaluations of the benefit of automated similarity analysis of textual requirements, where existing information retrieval techniques are used to statistically measure requirements similarity. The results show that automated analysis of similarity among textual requirements is a promising technique that may provide effective support in identifying relationships between requirements

Heat exchanger/reactors (HEX reactors): Concepts, technologies: State-of-the-art

Process intensification is a chemical engineering field which has truly emerged in the past few years and is currently rapidly growing. It consists in looking for safer operating conditions, lower waste in terms of costs and energy and higher productivity; and away to reach such objectives is to develop multifunctional devices such as heat exchanger/reactors for instance. This review is focused on the latter and makes a point on heat exchanger/reactors. After a brief presentation of requirements due to transposition from batch to continuous apparatuses, heat exchangers/reactors at industrial or pilot scales and their applications are described
