    Novel Parameterized Utility Function on Dual Hesitant Fuzzy Rough Sets and Its Application in Pattern Recognition

    Based on comparative studies on correlation coefficient theory and utility theory, a series of rules that utility functions on dual hesitant fuzzy rough sets (DHFRSs) should satisfy, and a kind of novel utility function on DHFRSs are proposed. The characteristic of the introduced utility function is a parameter, which is determined by decision-makers according to their experiences. By using the proposed utility function on DHFRSs, a novel dual hesitant fuzzy rough pattern recognition method is also proposed. Furthermore, this study also points out that the classical dual tool is suitable to cope with dynamic data in exploratory data analysis situations, while the newly proposed one is suitable to cope with static data in confirmatory data analysis situations. Finally, a medical diagnosis and a traffic engineering example are introduced to reveal the effectiveness of the newly proposed utility functions on DHFRSs. Document type: Articl

    On Interval-Valued Hesitant Fuzzy Soft Sets

    By combining the interval-valued hesitant fuzzy set and soft set models, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets. Further, some operations on the interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets are investigated, such as complement, “AND,” “OR,” ring sum, and ring product operations. Then, by means of reduct interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and level hesitant fuzzy soft sets, we present an adjustable approach to interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets based on decision making and some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the developed approach. Finally, the weighted interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft set is also introduced and its application in decision making problem is shown

    Decision support algorithm under SV-neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy rough information with confidence level aggregation operators

    To deal with the uncertainty and ensure the sustainability of the manufacturing industry, we designed a multi criteria decision-making technique based on a list of unique operators for single-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy rough (SV-NHFR) environments with a high confidence level. We show that, in contrast to the neutrosophic rough average and geometric aggregation operators, which are unable to take into account the level of experts' familiarity with examined objects for a preliminary evaluation, the neutrosophic average and geometric aggregation operators have a higher level of confidence in the fundamental idea of a more networked composition. A few of the essential qualities of new operators have also been covered. To illustrate the practical application of these operators, we have given an algorithm and a practical example. We have also created a manufacturing business model that takes sustainability into consideration and is based on the neutrosophic rough model. A symmetric comparative analysis is another tool we use to show the feasibility of our proposed enhancements

    An overview of fuzzy techniques in supply chain management: bibliometrics, methodologies, applications and future directions

    Every practice in supply chain management (SCM) requires decision making. However, due to the complexity of evaluated objects and the cognitive limitations of individuals, the decision information given by experts is often fuzzy, which may make it difficult to make decisions. In this regard, many scholars applied fuzzy techniques to solve decision making problems in SCM. Although there were review papers about either fuzzy methods or SCM, most of them did not use bibliometrics methods or did not consider fuzzy sets theory-based techniques comprehensively in SCM. In this paper, for the purpose of analyzing the advances of fuzzy techniques in SCM, we review 301 relevant papers from 1998 to 2020. By the analyses in terms of bibliometrics, methodologies and applications, publication trends, popular methods such as fuzzy MCDM methods, and hot applications such as supplier selection, are found. Finally, we propose future directions regarding fuzzy techniques in SCM. It is hoped that this paper would be helpful for scholars and practitioners in the field of fuzzy decision making and SCM

    Partner selection in sustainable supply chains: a fuzzy ensemble learning model

    With the increasing demands on businesses to operate more sustainably, firms must ensure that the performance of their whole supply chain in sustainability is optimized. As partner selection is critical to supply chain management, focal firms now need to select supply chain partners that can offer a high level of competence in sustainability. This paper proposes a novel multi-partner classification model for the partner qualification and classification process, combining ensemble learning technology and fuzzy set theory. The proposed model enables potential partners to be classified into one of four categories (strategic partner, preference partner, leverage partner and routine partner), thereby allowing distinctive partner management strategies to be applied for each category. The model provides for the simultaneous optimization of both efficiency in its use of multi-partner and multi-dimension evaluation data, and effectiveness in dealing with the vagueness and uncertainty of linguistic commentary data. Compared to more conventional methods, the proposed model has the advantage of offering a simple classification and a stable prediction performance. The practical efficacy of the model is illustrated by an application in a listed electronic equipment and instrument manufacturing company based in southeastern China
