Compressibility and Crushability Reproduction through an Amorphous Haptic Interface

Abstract. The demonstration involves a new haptic interface based on a wide-bandwidth electromagnetic valve and a pair of chambers filled with a magnetorheological fluid. It is intended to reproduce, with highfidelity, properties of complex materials that are experienced through pressing and squeezing actions, at the detriment of shape.
