Context constraint integration and validation in dynamic web service compositions
System architectures that cross organisational boundaries are usually implemented based on Web service technologies due to their inherent interoperability benets. With increasing exibility requirements, such as on-demand service provision, a dynamic approach to service architecture focussing on composition at runtime is needed. The possibility of technical faults, but also violations of functional and semantic constraints require a comprehensive notion of context that captures composition-relevant aspects. Context-aware techniques are consequently required to support constraint validation for dynamic service composition. Tinjauan Komunikasi Terhadap Pelayanan Publik Berbasis Aplikasi Laporbup Kabupaten Lombok Timur
This research is motivated by the emergence of many public complaints in public services provided by local governments, so researchers are interested in seeing how the strategy and management carried out by Diskominfo as a service provider. This study aims to analyze how Diskominfo's strategy in providing public services through the Laporbup application. This research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection techniques in this study are: interviews, observation, and documentation. The complaint handling strategy used by Diskominfo East Lombok Regency in providing public services is to provide channels or media that are easily accessible to the community so that the services provided are easier, effective, right on target in solving problems in the community. In addition, providing a polite response is a form of interaction that can give a good impression to the reporter. The government that provides services to the community is required to provide services that are easy and fast or straightforward, because the community will get its own satisfaction with the services provided by the government, especially Diskominfo Lombok Timur. In the complaint handling strategy carried out by Diskominfo, there is a comprehensive approach that is carried out by socializing to the community and related parties, especially to provide satisfaction to users. Furthermore, supported by good technology is one of the strategies to provide easy access to the community such as sms channels with the use of phone numbers that are easy to memorize and also websites that are easily accessed by the community
Comprehensive Monitor-Oriented Compensation Programming
Compensation programming is typically used in the programming of web service
compositions whose correct implementation is crucial due to their handling of
security-critical activities such as financial transactions. While traditional
exception handling depends on the state of the system at the moment of failure,
compensation programming is significantly more challenging and dynamic because
it is dependent on the runtime execution flow - with the history of behaviour
of the system at the moment of failure affecting how to apply compensation. To
address this dynamic element, we propose the use of runtime monitors to
facilitate compensation programming, with monitors enabling the modeller to be
able to implicitly reason in terms of the runtime control flow, thus separating
the concerns of system building and compensation modelling. Our approach is

An architecture for certification-aware service discovery
Service-orientation is an emerging paradigm for building complex systems based on loosely coupled components, deployed and consumed over the network. Despite the original intent of the paradigm, its current instantiations are limited to a single trust domain (e.g., a single organization). Also, some of the key promises of service-orientation - such as the dynamic orchestration of externally provided software services, using runtime service discovery and deployment - are still unachieved. One of the main reasons for this is the trust gap that normally arises when software services, offered by previously unknown providers, are to be selected at run-time, without any human intervention. To close this gap, the concept of machine-readable security certificates (called asserts) has been recently introduced, which paves the way to automated processing about security properties of services. Similarly to current security certification schemes, the assessment of the security properties of a service is delegated to an independent third party (certification authority), who issues a corresponding assert, bound to the service. In this paper, we propose an architecture, which exploits the assert concept to realise a certification-aware service discovery framework. The architecture supports the discovery of single services based on certified security properties (in additional to the usual functional properties), as well as the dynamic synthesis of service compositions, that satisfy the given security properties. The architecture is extensible, thus allowing for a range of domain specific matchmaking components, to cover dimensions related to, e.g., performance, cost and other non-functional characteristics
Service-oriented modeling for e-business applications components
The emerging trends for e-business engineering revolve
around specialisation and cooperation. Successful
companies focus on their core competences, and rely on a
network of business partners for the support services
required to compose a comprehensive offer for their
customers. Modulariy is crucial for a flexible e-business
infrastructure, but related requirements seldom reflect on
the design and operational models of business
information systems.
Software components are widely used for the
implementation of e-business applications, with proved
benefits in terms of system development and maintenance.
We propose a service-oriented componentisation of ebusiness
systems as a way to close the gap with the
business models they support. Blurring the distinction
between external services and internal capabilities, we
propose a homogeneous model for the definition of ebusiness
applications components. After a brief
discussion on the foundational aspects of the approach,
we present the process-based technique we adopted for
component modelling. We then present an infrastructure
compliant with the model proposed that we built on top of
an EJB (Enterprise Java Beans) platform
Adaptive Process Management in Cyber-Physical Domains
The increasing application of process-oriented approaches in new challenging cyber-physical domains beyond business computing (e.g., personalized healthcare, emergency management, factories of the future, home automation, etc.) has led to reconsider the level of flexibility and support required to manage complex processes in such domains. A cyber-physical domain is characterized by the presence of a cyber-physical system coordinating heterogeneous ICT components (PCs, smartphones, sensors, actuators) and involving real world entities (humans, machines, agents, robots, etc.) that perform complex tasks in the âphysicalâ real world to achieve a common goal. The physical world, however, is not entirely predictable, and processes enacted in cyber-physical domains must be robust to unexpected conditions and adaptable to unanticipated exceptions. This demands a more flexible approach in process design and enactment, recognizing that in real-world environments it is not adequate to assume that all possible recovery activities can be predefined for dealing with the exceptions that can ensue. In this chapter, we tackle the above issue and we propose a general approach, a concrete framework and a process management system implementation, called SmartPM, for automatically adapting processes enacted in cyber-physical domains in case of unanticipated exceptions and exogenous events. The adaptation mechanism provided by SmartPM is based on declarative task specifications, execution monitoring for detecting failures and context changes at run-time, and automated planning techniques to self-repair the running process, without requiring to predefine any specific adaptation policy or exception handler at design-time
