    Business information systems in Hungary

    Get PDF
Nowadays the issue of information technology in business is moving into the centre of attention, which is also indicated by the fact that more and more companies, not accidentally, recognize its importance. Business information systems are not only fashionable – their application promotes more efficient operation of the company and also improves the supply of information to decisionmakers; applying such systems can also play an important role in helping companies to put greater emphasis on information technology in order to gain a competitive advantage. My aim was to present the circumstances of the decisions made about the introduction of business information systems and problems emerging during the introduction as well as to analyze the usage habits of companies applying these systems, and to explore the relation between the application of business information systems and the operational effectiveness of the business

A Focus on Scientific Inquiry in CTE Through a Green Space

Science education trends state that students and teachers should work to promote learning by making science relevant and meaningful. With a changing world, the way science is taught and learned needs to change too. There is an increasing push for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) awareness and the engineering design process. Integrated science education in Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a trend and area of teaching that is needed and looked at as a way to make science more relevant and meaningful. Teachers are expected to engage students in meaningful and purposeful instruction that provided students with inquiry based instruction. To assist CTE teachers with integrating science coaching, and working with a co-teacher can help mold students into thinking like scientist in their field of study

Multi-State System Reliability: A New and Systematic Review

    Get PDF
AbstractReliability analysis considering multiple possible states is known as multi-state (MS) reliability analysis. Multi-state system reliability models allow both the system and its components to assume more than two levels of performance. Through multi-state reliability models provide more realistic and more precise representations of engineering systems, they are much more complex and present major difficulties in system definition and performance evaluation. MSS reliability has received a substantial amount of attention in the past four decades. This article presents a new and systematic review about multi-state system reliability. A timely review is an effective work related to improving the development of MSS theory. The review about the latest studies and advances about multi-state system reliability evaluation, multi-state systems optimization and multi-state systems maintenance is summarized in this paper

Food security dynamics in Oman: VECM approach

    Get PDF
The paper examines the determinants of food security in Oman during the period 1980-2019. It investigates the influence of population growth rate and GDP per capita on food security. Cointegration and vector error correction model (VECM) approach are used to identify the long term and short term relationship of food security determinants. The results confirm the existence of a long run relationship among the determinants of food security. Further this linkage indicates that food security in Oman is positively influenced by the population growth rate and GDP/capita(current). The error correction term suggests that 51.7 percent of the total disequilibrium in food security was being adjusted every year which is justifiable for an oil producing country

The Data Transmission Network and Computing Environment of Spatial Information Grid

AbstractStudied the foundation of SIG (Spatial Information Grid) computing environment, this article first designed a data transmission network which is based on SIG. And then, it described the topological structure and communication link of data transmission network. Next, it discussed the status quo of spatial computing resources and the resources deployment of spatial information grid which made a support to the finding and calling of resources. Finally, it studied the resources finding and sharing of spatial information grid in VO (Visual Organization) and the VO form in SIG. It then proposed the resources finding mechanism and the sharing process

16th IFAC Symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing INCOM 2018 Bergamo, Italy, 11–13 June 2018. Edited by Marco Macchi, László Monostori, Roberto PintoThe aim of this paper is to remark the importance of new and advanced techniques supporting decision making in different business processes for maintenance and assets management, as well as the basic need of adopting a certain management framework with a clear processes map and the corresponding IT supporting systems. Framework processes and systems will be the key fundamental enablers for success and for continuous improvement. The suggested framework will help to define and improve business policies and work procedures for the assets operation and maintenance along their life cycle. The following sections present some achievements on this focus, proposing finally possible future lines for a research agenda within this field of assets management
