VisualLISA: a visual interface for an attribute grammar based compiler-compiler
The research work that we discuss in this position paper, is concerned with the implementation of a visual front-end for LISA tool in order to make easier and more attractive the work of writing an attribute
grammar for a new language. LISA (Language Implementation System based on Attribute grammars) is a compiler-compiler, or a system that generates automatically a compiler/interpreter from a formal language
specification based on attribute grammars. The main idea is to design a visual language to draw derivation rules in conjunction with the associated semantic rules and to develop a visual compiler to transform that
graphical representation into LISA notation
Metamodel Instance Generation: A systematic literature review
Modelling and thus metamodelling have become increasingly important in
Software Engineering through the use of Model Driven Engineering. In this paper
we present a systematic literature review of instance generation techniques for
metamodels, i.e. the process of automatically generating models from a given
metamodel. We start by presenting a set of research questions that our review
is intended to answer. We then identify the main topics that are related to
metamodel instance generation techniques, and use these to initiate our
literature search. This search resulted in the identification of 34 key papers
in the area, and each of these is reviewed here and discussed in detail. The
outcome is that we are able to identify a knowledge gap in this field, and we
offer suggestions as to some potential directions for future research.Comment: 25 page
Corpora and evaluation tools for multilingual named entity grammar development
We present an effort for the development of multilingual named entity grammars in a unification-based finite-state formalism (SProUT). Following an extended version of the MUC7 standard, we have developed Named Entity Recognition grammars for German, Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, English, and Czech. The grammars recognize person names, organizations, geographical locations, currency, time and date expressions. Subgrammars and gazetteers are shared as much as possible for the grammars of the different languages. Multilingual corpora from the business domain are used for grammar development and evaluation. The annotation format (named entity and other linguistic information) is described. We present an evaluation tool which provides detailed statistics and diagnostics, allows for partial matching of annotations, and supports user-defined mappings between different annotation and grammar output formats
SAGA: A project to automate the management of software production systems
The project to automate the management of software production systems is described. The SAGA system is a software environment that is designed to support most of the software development activities that occur in a software lifecycle. The system can be configured to support specific software development applications using given programming languages, tools, and methodologies. Meta-tools are provided to ease configuration. Several major components of the SAGA system are completed to prototype form. The construction methods are described
