    To have a sustainable competitive advantage, an organization should realize how to create, distribute and utilize knowledge through an organization and how attach it to organizational process. Another important thing is a manager should know what kind of knowledge they should seek to enhance organizational activity to get sustainable competitive advantage. In this paper, I go through literature review to investigate more the importance of knowledge management in the respect of competitive advantage. I start with an introduction and we will move on the next stage, which will be knowledge as a basis of competitive advantage. The third part would be the importance of knowledge management. Knowledge management and competitive advantage, knowledge strategies for survival, knowledge integration capabilities and IS support of organizational competencies would be other issues which will be considered in this paper.     Effect of Knowledge Management on Firm Competitive Advantage Among Commercial Banks in Kenya

    We examine the effect of knowledge management on firms’ competitive advantage among commercials banks in Kenya. Using multiple regression analysis, we found support for the proposition that knowledge acquisition, knowledge dissemination and responsiveness to knowledge enhance firms’ competitive advantage. Given the increasingly critical role of Knowledge management in connection with firm competitiveness in today’s dynamic market place organizations are required to manage effective knowledge to ensure they have a sustain competitive advantage.     There has been a great deal of recognition in the business world that information and knowledge management can be vital tools in organizations. Knowledge management can be proven a competitive advantage of any organization. The rationale of this exploratory study is to investigate the link among knowledge management system & techniques and organizational success by using knowledge as completive advantage. It is a qualitative research study of different case studies of the use of knowledge management as competitive advantage in different organization that leads to success. A total of 8 different organizations are studied and results propose that by using knowledge management as strategy and competitive advantage, these organizations earn high profit. And it has a great influence to success. Implication and Directions are also discussed together with limitation and suggestions for future research. Of the important challenges facing firms and organizations three are of prime importance: (1) for organizations to know what they know and maximise the transfer of this knowledge throughout their organisation; (2) finding ways of working which assist in maintaining their competitive advantage and finding new ways of gaining competitive advantage often through innovation, and (3) continuously learning through the exploitation of existing resources and capabilities and the exploration of new resources and capabilities to improve their performance.     This study aims to determine the effect of knowledge management and organizational learning on innovation and it’s impact on competitive advantage of PT. Bank Riau Kepri. This study took a sampel of 80 people consisting of 20 office unit leaders and 60 section leaders from 20 branch office units. The variables used are knowledge management, organizational learning, innovation and competitive advantage. Data analysis was performed using path analysis with the help of SPSS 22 program. The results showed that there was a direct significant influence on knowledge management and organizational learning on innovation as well as on competitive advantage and there was a significant influence on innovation on competitive advantage. Indirectly, there is a significant effect on knowledge management and organizational learning on competitive advantage through innovation

    Strategic Management Model with Lens of Knowledge Management and Competitive Intelligence: A Review Approach

    Purpose: First purpose of this study is to discuss the synergic and separate use of knowledge and intelligence, via knowledge management and competitive intelligence, in each stage of strategic management process. Second purpose is to discuss the implications of each stage of strategic management process for knowledge management and competitive intelligence and vice versa. Methodology/Design/Approach: A systematic literature review was performed within timeframe of 2000 to 2016. Extracted information from reviewed studies was synthesized and integrated in strategic management model of Fred David. Findings: A strategic management model with lens of knowledge management and competitive intelligence is proposed. Each stage of knowledge management process has implications for knowledge management and competitive intelligence and vice versa. In addition, synergic and separate use of knowledge and intelligence results in effective decision making leading to competitive advantage. Research Limitations: Learning curve of knowledge management and competitive intelligence and being limited to use of Fred David model are among key limitations. Practical Implications: Experts of knowledge management, competitive intelligence, and strategic management can use this study to gain competitive advantage based on knowledge and information resources. Organizations should have knowledge management function as well as competitive intelligence to support the strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation. Social Implications: Readers can take a view that how they can manage their knowledge and information resources from a strategic perspective? Originality/Value:.
