    Get PDF
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been active in the inauguration of policies and schemes to foster the implementation of the cashless policy in Nigeria. However the current transition to cashless economy raises a lot of concerns with no substantial evidence yet to justify its implementation. This study was carried out in order to appraise the implementation of the cashless policy since its introduction into the Nigerian financial system in 2012 and also to examine the persistent challenges facing its implementation. In view of the above stated objective, primary data were collected with the aid of the questionnaire, which was randomly administered to 120 respondents ranging from First Bank, Zenith Bank and United Bank for Africa. The banks were selected based on their total assets and the information collected covered the activities of the CBN and that of these banks towards implementation of the cashless policy from 2012 till date. The data collected were presented and analyzed with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) using descriptive statistics and one-sample t-test. The results led to the conclusion that despite the need to operate cashless transactions dominating the modern Nigerian economy, the cashless policy will have the desired impact only if a lot is done to ensure the implementation of an effective cashless system

Literature based Cyber Security Topics: Handbook

    Get PDF
Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyber attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes. Cloud computing has emerged from the legacy data centres. Consequently, threats applicable in legacy system are equally applicable to cloud computing along with emerging new threats that plague only the cloud systems. Traditionally the data centres were hosted on-premises. Hence, control over the data was comparatively easier than handling a cloud system which is borderless and ubiquitous. Threats due to multi-tenancy, access from anywhere, control of cloud, etc. are some examples of why cloud security becomes important. Considering the significance of cloud security, this work is an attempt to understand the existing cloud service and deployment models, and the major threat factors to cloud security that may be critical in cloud environment. It also highlights various methods employed by the attackers to cause the damage. Cyber-attacks are highlighted as well. This work will be profoundly helpful to the industry and researchers in understanding the various cloud specific cyber-attack and enable them to evolve the strategy to counter them more effectively

ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks: a literature review

    Get PDF
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation is a complex and vibrant process, one that involves a combination of technological and organizational interactions. Often an ERP implementation project is the single largest IT project that an organization has ever launched and requires a mutual fit of system and organization. Also the concept of an ERP implementation supporting business processes across many different departments is not a generic, rigid and uniform concept and depends on variety of factors. As a result, the issues addressing the ERP implementation process have been one of the major concerns in industry. Therefore ERP implementation receives attention from practitioners and scholars and both, business as well as academic literature is abundant and not always very conclusive or coherent. However, research on ERP systems so far has been mainly focused on diffusion, use and impact issues. Less attention has been given to the methods used during the configuration and the implementation of ERP systems, even though they are commonly used in practice, they still remain largely unexplored and undocumented in Information Systems research. So, the academic relevance of this research is the contribution to the existing body of scientific knowledge. An annotated brief literature review is done in order to evaluate the current state of the existing academic literature. The purpose is to present a systematic overview of relevant ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks as a desire for achieving a better taxonomy of ERP implementation methodologies. This paper is useful to researchers who are interested in ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Results will serve as an input for a classification of the existing ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks. Also, this paper aims also at the professional ERP community involved in the process of ERP implementation by promoting a better understanding of ERP implementation methodologies and frameworks, its variety and history

Master’s thesis Curriculum in Agri-Food Business ManagementThe current age requires that almost all human endeavors be fast-paced. This has brought about the need for food to be ordered online as customers may not have the luxury of time to cook food by themselves or the least go to restaurants to eat therein. However, it is also expected that such service be rendered in consideration of certain qualities that will adequately satisfied customers. Although there are many related studies to the current one i.e. Prabowo & Nugroho (2018) in the context of Indenesia, Dang et al (2018) focuses on Haoni, Vietnam while author as Siddiqi (2011) focuses on banking sector in Bangladesh. The current study seeks to examine the role of e-service quality and food quality in influencing customers’ satisfaction towards online food delivery service in Estonia. The goal is to see how both e-service quality and food quality can help to influence customers’ satisfaction towards adopting OFD service. Two main types of data, primary and secondary data were used; the secondary setting a theoretical basis for the empirical work. The primary data is quantitative nature, suggesting that research adopted a survey using questionnaire to elicit data from respondents. 154 persons responded by answering the questions accordingly. The questionnaire contained 14 questions 10 close-ended and 4 open-ended questions. Quantitative data was analysed using descriptive analysis attended with tabular representation of data as well as with charts followed by a correlation analysis, while the open ended was done through discussion. To this end, the finding of study reveals that both e-service quality and food quality are factors that satisfy customers’ towards online food delivery service, as respondents’ opinions show a direct relationship between the level of quality in the two variables and customers’ behavioural pattern. This result agrees with those of Persad & Padayachee (2015) and Lee & Joshi (2007) among others, who have earlier researched in this area of study but from different contexts. Therefore, stakeholders, in restaurants and the major players in the e-service end must ensure that these qualities are present in their services in order to satisfy customers towards adopting OFD service. On olemas mitmeid käesolevale uurimistööle sarnaseid uurimusi.

The Impact of Perceived Procedural Justice on Dimensions of Customer Citizenship Behaviours: The Mediating Effect of Customer Perceived Support

    Get PDF
The present study examines the influence of perceived procedural justice (PPJ) on four fundamental dimensions of customer citizenship behaviours (helping other customers, advocacy, customer tolerance, and feedback) and the mediating role of customer perceived support (CPS). Our research setting is the smartphone after-sales service sector in China. Structural equation modeling (SEM) using AMOS is employed to empirically test our hypotheses on the basis of survey data from 368 smartphonecustomers. We find that PPJ significantly contributes to the customer citizenship behaviours of helping other customers, advocacy, and feedback. Surprisingly, we do not find a significant relationship between PPJ and customer tolerance. Our evidence indicates that CPS partially mediates the relationships between PPJ and helping other customers, advocacy, and feedback, but fully mediates the effect of PPJ on customer tolerance. This research contributes to managers’ understanding of how voluntary behaviours can be effectively managed by enhancing PPJ and CPS. Further, it enriches our theoretical understanding of key antecedents of customer citizenship behaviours

The Impact Of Platform On Global Video Game Sales

    Get PDF
This paper examines video game sales by platform in the global market from a period spanning 2006 through 2011.  As the home video game industry has rapidly matured and become established as a forefront facet of interactive entertainment in the home, we seek to determine what aspects of the video game market have the greatest impact on sales.  This question is particularly poignant, as the maturation of the video game industry has witnessed efforts at both vertical integration and horizontal expansion on the part of the top game publishers and developers in hopes of solidly grounding the industry.  This study employs a Kruskal-Wallis test to compare eight different gaming platforms.  The results indicate Nintendo’s Wii was the top selling global platform; Nintendo DS was the second tier; Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and the personal computer (PC) are in the third tier; the fourth tier consists of Sony PlayStation 2 and Sony PSP; and the retired sixth generation Nintendo GameCube is the lowest sales tier
