    Implantation modified deep echo state neural networks and improve harmony clustering algorithm for optimal and energy efficient path in mobile sink

    Wireless network sensors based on the mobile sink are regarded to be a common network and used in various fields in the last few years, they are thought to be easy to use, but contain the problem of energy loss and are affected by an energy hole problem, as it depends on batteries. This paper proposes a solution to this problem by using an innovative objective function for a consistent distributing of cluster heads, the enhanced harmony search based routing protocols based on energy equilibrated node clustering protocol. In order to route the data packet among the sink and cluster heads, an enhanced modified deep echo state neural network is suggested. The efficiency of a projected integrated clustering and routing protocol has been investigated at 500 nodes, and the 96 per cent success data for the proposed algorithm is given using the average energy consumption, send and receive packaged and optimum numbers of CH

    A centralized localization algorithm for prolonging the lifetime of wireless sensor networks using particle swarm optimization in the existence of obstacles

    The evolution in micro-electro-mechanical systems technology (MEMS) has triggered the need for the development of wireless sensor network (WSN). These wireless sensor nodes has been used in many applications at many areas. One of the main issues in WSN is the energy availability, which is always a constraint. In a previous research, a relocating algorithm for mobile sensor network had been introduced and the goal was to save energy and prolong the lifetime of the sensor networks using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) where both of sensing radius and travelled distance had been optimized in order to save energy in long-term and shortterm. Yet, the previous research did not take into account obstacles’ existence in the field and this will cause the sensor nodes to consume more power if obstacles are exists in the sensing field. In this project, the same centralized relocating algorithm from the previous research has been used where 15 mobile sensors deployed randomly in a field of 100 meter by 100 meter where these sensors has been deployed one time in a field that obstacles does not exist (case 1) and another time in a field that obstacles existence has been taken into account (case 2), in which these obstacles has been pre-defined positions, where these two cases applied into two different algorithms, which are the original algorithm of a previous research and the modified algorithm of this thesis. Particle Swarm Optimization has been used in the proposed algorithm to minimize the fitness function. Voronoi diagram has also used in order to ensure that the mobile sensors cover the whole sensing field. In this project, the objectives will be mainly focus on the travelling distance, which is the mobility module, of the mobile sensors in the network because the distance that the sensor node travels, will consume too much power from this node and this will lead to shortening the lifetime of the sensor network. So, the travelling distance, power consumption and lifetime of the network will be calculated in both cases for original algorithm and modified algorithm, which is a modified deployment algorithm, and compared between them. Moreover, the maximum sensing range is calculated, which is 30 meter, by using the binary sensing model even though the sensing module does not consume too much power compared to the mobility module. Finally, the comparison of the results in the original method will show that this algorithm is not suitable for an environment where obstacle exist because sensors will consume too much power compared to the sensors that deployed in environment that free of obstacles. While the results of the modified algorithm of this research will be more suitable for both environments, that is environment where obstacles are not exist and environment where obstacles are exist, because sensors in this algorithm .will consume almost the same amount of power at both of these environments

    Wildfire Monitoring Based on Energy Efficient Clustering Approach for FANETS

    Forest fires are a significant threat to the ecological system’s stability. Several attempts have been made to detect forest fires using a variety of approaches, including optical fire sensors, and satellite-based technologies, all of which have been unsuccessful. In today’s world, research on flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) is a thriving field and can be used successfully. This paper describes a unique clustering approach that identifies the presence of a fire zone in a forest and transfers all sensed data to a base station as soon as feasible via wireless communication. The fire department takes the required steps to prevent the spread of the fire. It is proposed in this study that an efficient clustering approach be used to deal with routing and energy challenges to extend the lifetime of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in case of forest fires. Due to the restricted energy and high mobility, this directly impacts the flying duration and routing of FANET nodes. As a result, it is vital to enhance the lifetime of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to maintain high system availability. Our proposed algorithm EE-SS regulates the energy usage of nodes while taking into account the features of a disaster region and other factors. For firefighting, sensor nodes are placed throughout the forest zone to collect essential data points for identifying forest fires and dividing them into distinct clusters. All of the sensor nodes in the cluster communicate their packets to the base station continually through the cluster head. When FANET nodes communicate with one another, their transmission range is constantly adjusted to meet their operating requirements. This paper examines the existing clustering techniques for forest fire detection approaches restricted to wireless sensor networks and their limitations. Our newly designed algorithm chooses the most optimum cluster heads (CHs) based on their fitness, reducing the routing overhead and increasing the system’s efficiency. Our proposed method results from simulations are compared with the existing approaches such as LEACH, LEACH-C, PSO-HAS, and SEED. The evaluation is carried out concerning overall energy usage, residual energy, the count of live nodes, the network lifetime, and the time it takes to build a cluster compared to other approaches.     Research routing and MAC based on LEACH and S-MAC for energy efficiency and QoS in wireless sensor network

    The wireless sensor is a micro-embedded device with weak data processing capability and small storage space. These nodes need to complete complex jobs, including data monitoring, acquisition and conversion, and data processing. Energy efficiency should be considered as one of the important aspects of the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) throughout architecture and protocol design. At the same time, supporting Quality of Service (QoS) in WSNs is a research field, because the time-sensitive and important information is expected for the transmitting to to the sink node immediately. The thesis is supported by the projects entitled “The information and control system for preventing forest fires”, and “The Erhai information management system”, funded by the Chinese Government. Energy consumption and QoS are two main objectives of the projects. The thesis discusses the two aspects in route and Media Access Control (MAC). For energy efficiency, the research is based on Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) protocol. LEACH is a benchmark clustering routing protocol which imposes upon cluster heads to complete a lot of aggregation and relay of messages to the base-station. However, there are limitations in LEACH. LEACH does not suit a wide area in clustering strategy and multi-hop routing. Moreover, routing protocols only focus on one factor, combining the clustering strategy and multi-hop routing mechanism were not considered in routing protocol for performance of network. QoS is supported by the MAC and routing protocol. Sensor MAC(S-MAC) makes the use of the periodically monitoring / sleeping mechanism, as well as collision and crosstalk avoidance mechanism. The mechanism reduces energy costs. Meanwhile, it supports good scalability and avoids the collision. However, the protocols do not take the differentiated services. For supporting QoS,A new route protocol needs to be designed and realized on embed platforms, which has WIFI mode and a Linux operation system to apply on the actual system. This research project was conducted as following the steps: A new protocol called RBLEACH is proposed to solve cluster on a widely scale based on LEACH. The area is divided into a few areas, where LEACH is improved to alter the selecting function in each area. RBLEACH creates routes selected by using a new algorithm to optimize the performance of the network. A new clustering method that has been developed to use several factors is PS-ACO-LEACH. The factors include the residual energy of the cluster head and Euclidean distances between cluster members and a cluster head. It can optimally solve fitness function and maintain a load balance in between the cluster head nodes, a cluster head and the base station. Based on the “Ant Colony” algorithm and transition of probability, a new routing protocol was created by “Pheromone” to find the optimal path of cluster heads to the base station. This protocol can reduce energy consumption of cluster heads and unbalanced energy consumption. Simulations prove that the improved protocol can enhance the performance of the network, including lifetime and energy conservation. Additionally, Multi Index Adaptive Routing Algorithm (MIA-QR) was designed based on network delay, packet loss rate and signal strength for QoS. The protocol is achieved by VC on an embedded Linux system. The MIA-QR is tested and verified by experiment and the protocol is to support QoS. Finally, an improved protocol (SMAC -SD) for wireless sensor networks is proposed, in order to solve the problem of S-MAC protocol that consider either service differentiation or ensure quality of service. According to service differentiation, SMAC-SD adopts an access mechanism based on different priorities including the adjustment of priority mechanisms of channel access probability, channel multi-request mechanisms and the configuring of waiting queues with different priorities and RTS backoff for different service, which makes the important service receive high channel access probability, ensuring the transmission quality of the important service. The simulation results show that the improved protocol is able to gain amount of important service and shortens the delay at the same time.     Assessing the Performance of a Particle Swarm Optimization Mobility Algorithm in a Hybrid Wi-Fi/LoRa Flying Ad Hoc Network

    Research on Flying Ad-Hoc Networks (FANETs) has increased due to the availability of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and the electronic components that control and connect them. Many applications, such as 3D mapping, construction inspection, or emergency response operations could benefit from an application and adaptation of swarm intelligence-based deployments of multiple UAVs. Such groups of cooperating UAVs, through the use of local rules, could be seen as network nodes establishing an ad-hoc network for communication purposes. One FANET application is to provide communication coverage over an area where communication infrastructure is unavailable. A crucial part of a FANET implementation is computing the optimal position of UAVs to provide connectivity with ground nodes while maximizing geographic span. To achieve optimal positioning of FANET nodes, an adaptation of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed. A 3D mobility model is defined by adapting the original PSO algorithm and combining it with a fixed-trajectory initial flight. A Long Range (LoRa) mesh network is used for air-to-air communication, while a Wi-Fi network provides air-to-ground communication to several ground nodes with unknown positions. The optimization problem has two objectives: maximizing coverage to ground nodes and maintaining an end-to-end communication path to a control station, through the UAV mesh. The results show that the hybrid mobility approach performs similarly to the fixed trajectory flight regarding coverage, and outperforms fixed trajectory and PSO-only algorithms in both path maintenance and overall network efficiency, while using fewer UAVs

    Optimal Wideband LPDA Design for Efficient Multimedia Content Delivery over Emerging Mobile Computing Systems

    An optimal synthesis of a wideband Log-Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) is introduced in the present study. The LPDA optimization is performed under several requirements concerning the standing wave ratio, the forward gain, the gain flatness, the front-to-back ratio and the side lobe level, over a wide frequency range. The LPDA geometry that complies with the above requirements is suitable for efficient multimedia content delivery. The optimization process is accomplished by applying a recently introduced method called Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO). The method has already been compared to other evolutionary methods and has shown superiority in solving complex non-linear problems in telecommunications and electromagnetics. In the present study, the IWO method has been chosen to optimize an LPDA for operation in the frequency range 800-3300 MHz. Due to its excellent performance, the LPDA can effectively be used for multimedia content reception over future mobile computing systems

    Non-Gaussian Hybrid Transfer Functions: Memorizing Mine Survivability Calculations

    Hybrid algorithms and models have received significant interest in recent years and are increasingly used to solve real-world problems. Different from existing methods in radial basis transfer function construction, this study proposes a novel nonlinear-weight hybrid algorithm involving the non-Gaussian type radial basis transfer functions. The speed and simplicity of the non-Gaussian type with the accuracy and simplicity of radial basis function are used to produce fast and accurate on-the-fly model for survivability of emergency mine rescue operations, that is, the survivability under all conditions is precalculated and used to train the neural network. The proposed hybrid uses genetic algorithm as a learning method which performs parameter optimization within an integrated analytic framework, to improve network efficiency. Finally, the network parameters including mean iteration, standard variation, standard deviation, convergent time, and optimized error are evaluated using the mean squared error. The results demonstrate that the hybrid model is able to reduce the computation complexity, increase the robustness and optimize its parameters. This novel hybrid model shows outstanding performance and is competitive over other existing models
